I have the xc insert on my apex head. It's been the best mod on my 250x. Plus Matt who runs Apex is super helpful and knowledgeable.

I was thinking the same thing, I could go out and rip that all day long and not get bored. I’d be trying everything I can think of for faster laps. I think he’s going up the one hill to fast causing him to lose a half second turning left for the downhill.
She’s a weapon now, great riding Noah.
I got the Apex head with the XC dome and it was a total game changer on my 2021 YZ250, Matt also supplied me with a jetting chart from my new head that made all the difference in the world.

Yamaha head design is dictated by having to take into account people are going to put varying levels of pump gas in.
I Have to look at the dyno chart for this.
@@richr161 I wouldn’t necessarily call it extra power I would call it reallocation of power to different parts of the RPM range.
@@NEFloridaDirtRiders That makes sense. Also didn't see that this is for a 250 which already makes enough power. Anything that smooths it out is going to be good.
I have that head with the xc dome. It’s fire. I have it with a lectron and downlow is a whole new bike.

I have an RK Tek XC cut head and also Apex redid the stock head on my 250x. I really like both products. Both Kel and Matt are super knowledgeable and great to deal with. Make sure you try the jetting Matt recommends. The case covers are really nice products as well. Good video!
I have the MX head. Runs crisper and the power band is quite noticeably more linear than stock.
There is a noticable difference on my yz250x. I have the blue head and got the xc and sx heads, haven't tried the sx dome yet. The xc is great, more useable torque down low. And in many situations, I can ride a gear up, which makes me faster for sure, then you start pushing yourself.
For sure! I’d be interested to see what all three heads are like on the 250

STIC/Vforce/Bill's Pipes would make this bike absolutely scream. I can't wait to watch you rip up the races on the 125. Hoping to make it to at least half the series this year myself.

Got the apex with xc dome on my yz250x and love it
I just finished re-jetting mine based on the jetting chart that they sent me and it's even better now.
Their chart was way off for me too lean
@@singletrackmarc819 I originally had the JD jetting kit installed with the factory head and bike ran pretty good, which was leaner then what Apex recommends with their heads. Now I'm running Apex xc dome with their recommended jetting, and it runs good as well.

Did you make any jetting changes at all when you did the head swap? Bike sounded great IMO.

Hi, Did you change jetting w/ the head at all? I had landed on stock PJ & Needle but 410 MJ. Installed head yesterday but haven’t gotten it out yet. I think Apex recommended 420 MJ, stock that was sputtery on mine. Thx!
I ended up going a bit richer on mine than stock. I’m not a jetting expert but I’d rather be a bit too rich than too lean and it runs good still
@@NoahClarkFitness I tested head Friday at 500-1000’ and ended up going 1 leaner on PJ and 1 richer on MJ just like the jetting Chart Apex lists with the head. Maybe could have gone 430 (stock) on MJ but I rarely ride the lower elevation so I left it.
Way more low end, much less clutching and did rock climbs and steep obstacles much better! 🤘🏻
Does it take away from the top end or just add bottom end and the top end stays the same

It would be good if you checked it but I just threw it on and ran it. I know some people are big on it but personally I have never checked it
What fuel? Does that head require race fuel?
No it does not. They can cut your head custom though if you want to run race fuel.
