This is my favorite species for bonsai
One of mine too!
Hello, thank goodness someone talks about it. I have one similar to the ones in the video, but I hope that during the year you will make videos on pruning, defoliation, repotting and styling some young plants from cuttings. thank you pious Italy
Thanks, we definitely hope to make that content in the future
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Eric!

Happy holidays, glad you enjoyed!
Merry Christmas! I really appreciate that you're making some quality bonsai videos!
Thanks, appreciate you checking them out!
That's a Beautiful Tree🥰
Super impressive!🙂
I was in Oregon back in the early 90s...a little place called Klamath Falls..
I swear, the nicest people I've seen in Any place in America👏🏽
Zone 10B these days so I'm not sure how this would do here?
🌴
Thanks, Oregon has some great people!
I love chojubai, they're such unique plants. I'm glad you mentioned that Michael is spreading the chojubai love to his students, because I actually got mine from John Eads! that one looks like it's started leafing out early, perhaps due to the unseasonably warm weather we're having in Seattle. is there any extra protection you would advise in this case?
We love them too! Make sure to not let it see any freezing or frost if it prematurely leafed out
Merry Christmas though it’s now well past.
I live in San Francisco and I think Red Chojubai simply don’t do well. My best guess is the lack of cold. White seem to do much better and ‘salmon sport’ also seem ok.
I’ve thought about building a refrigerated cold room to help some of my cold dormancy living trees a better chance.
In the end I may just move to get better bonsai weather.
Love those little scraggly trees!!!!
Chojubai don't thrive in the Bay Area from what I've seen, white are a bit stronger and would do better if you're struggling with them
Merry christmas!! What is the Latin name of these plants?
Chaenomeles japonica ‘Chojubai’
@@rakuyobonsai thanks! Was looking at a bunch to buy and bind together to get a clumb. No chojubai but regular japonica. Hopfully it works🤞😊
Slugs in winter??
Yes, it's very mild in Portland and I see them all winter long!
