    I am a Taiwanese living in US. I picked up sewing after I moved to US, so all my tools were of course bought in US. This bag was very popular in Taiwan a few years ago, I saw quite a few tutorials and I really wanted to try it, but Taiwan uses metric system so all the measurements in these tutorials are centimeter. When you convert between metric and imperial, sometimes you have to round up the number, and the proportion of the bag could go off because of it. Since this bag has folding and tucking involved, I assume all the measurements have something to do with each other, I was too afraid to mess around them so I just gave up. Thank you so much for uploading this, now I could finally make it, fearlessly!!!

    This is the most beautiful folding shopping bag. I love it. Most of them are kind of plain, or shaped like a basic tote. This checks all my boxes for style!! Definitely making this.. checking my stash as we speak ;)

    I made one and I love it. Thanks for the tutorial. I will make more, probably as gifts, but I don't think I'll interface the straps, I'd rather they were more lightweight than stiff.

    Was thinking if the closing strap could just be about 2 inches & have the opposite snap on the outside of the other side of the bag itself. So the strap won’t wrap around the whole bag, just across the top to the otherwise, snapping close onto the bag.
    Bag looks great. Can’t wait to watch in detail & start this project at bedtime (kids). Thanks so much for sharing 😊

    Another wonderful bag . I really look forward to watching your projects and I’ve made most of them . All much admired and appreciated.
    I would like to make this one for my daughter in law . Could I use a medium weight fabric or does it need to be a lightweight cotton ?

    A lined bag will be more sturdy, and last MUCH longer, instead of tearing with heavy or sharp objects in it.

    • @tlsnana9539
      @tlsnana9539 Před 4 lety

      I agree with you but I can also use a light bag for many lighter items. This would surely hold what can be held by those cheap plastic bags. Just one more pretty bag in your arsenal.

    I love the fabric! But, the online store sells it in 1/2 metre cuts (20" X 44"). If we purchase 2, will it be a full uncut metre, which will allow us to get the 25" X 38" piece to make the bag?

    • @OwlBeSewing
      @OwlBeSewing  Před 4 lety

      Hi Catherine, thank you for watching our videos.
      Regarding the website yes if you order 2 it’s a full piece of 40 by 44 approximately.
      Thank you
