In this video I'm going to be giving you some of the downsides of being into fashion. There are some cons that come with fashion being your hobby or profession, but its not all bad. I feel like now it’s like if you’re not following some type of trend then you don’t know how to dress… now I feel like a lot if people just aren’t creative it’s a lot of copy and paste
True, and it’s because the copy and paste gets a lot of attention, so it becomes one big cycle lol
I personally like online shopping because I don’t have that much time to go to stores, but to know the quality, I always look at the details like what it is made out of etc
Same, I do enjoy in person shopping but online shopping is far more convenient most times

I'd argue that a lot of this online stuff isn't even fashion at all. People create fits that they dont even intend to wear outside, people just copy one aesthetic today and another tomorrow without ever having such a thing as a personal style. To me this stuff isnt fashion
I understand this point of view, but let me add some perspective because I think there’s a good place for it. I think it allows a lot of growth in what fashion could be. A lot of the stuff that isn’t intended to be worn outside is almost like couture which is an art on its own within fashion. The fashion you speak of is ready-to-wear. Both live in the same world
@@JadonGrundy Thats a great point and comparison. I always thought of those "online only" fits as corny but I guess if it lets people express themselves and think outside of the box in a way they couldnt with stuff they wear out in the streets it has its merit

I would say, I've lost the excitement but i still love fashion. I remember when i couldn't wait for a package to arrive. Now i order something and forget. Great advise on the spending wisely part.

Another problem is the Instagram brands that all sell the same things from the same distributors just different names and want more money than the brands that actually came up with the concept and there brand just came out mess is ridiculous
Those people aren’t in it for the art, or to progress design. They just want to grab some of the money of things that are hot lol
We share many fashion problems. Even in Houston, going to the mall for me is just to kill time 90 percent of the time these days. I feel like i "graduated" from in store styles lol. I rarely find something in store that i like.
I remember rappers / celebrities making trends in fashion now they all follow this ig / tiktok fashion trend shit weird nobody has they’re on taste plus trends last like a week now 😂

To be fair most brands charging $200 pieces with terrible quality that I can find $50-$100 cheaper with better quality/materials

These takes are all incredibly consumerist. It is not your “duty” to buy clothes and review them, it is your job, and your chosen one at that. Nobody needs high fashion items; it’s a hobby and a privilege at the end of the day. This mentality of constant need to be up on the current thing is such an extreme luxury for someone in the first world to have. No hate to you as a person, but I want this community to be the way it used to be when it was just people who appreciated the art of fashion and not the constant need to one up everybody. Also if you’re shopping designer for retail, you’re getting scammed
