Fashion fades but style is forever, but can one really live without the other? Maybe that question will be answered with this video today, because we're going to break down the differences between Fashion and Style, and how it relates to current fashion trends.

Fashion is what’s popular in the social medias and style is what you take away from fashion to make your own and include it within your own closet, atleast to me that’s the difference. Even then, stuff can get corny and played out really quick, because you have people taking style advice from tiktok rather than exploring for themselves. That’s why everyone owns geobaskets, sambas, black tnf nuptses, panda dunks etc
Facts, I think a lot of people don’t have style, personal style atleast. I think their style is dictated from things that they just see, and they pick them in order to feel included
@@JadonGrundyYou mean 90% of people even the people u think have originality most likely copied someome else that isnt very popular or heard of to make it seem they came up with the idea or style. It happens all the time tbh. Just look at how brand and certain shoes sell more then others its cause people are following a trend.

Fashion is what's available for those who don't dye their own clothes. The problem is, if the colors you want aren't available, you're back to square one.
One can’t live without another but I will say I think a lot of ppl are falling into the baggy denim trend now but that’s my opinion. This is why I just wear what I like. The key essentials to someone feeling like they can dress in these days is balenciaga and Rick owens. I think fashion has went down hill perhaps bc I don’t see anybody out here breaking boundaries. Just like music it’s all the same just like most style I see on social media everybody dresses the same. Culturally i see no originality!!!! Maybe I’m getting old but a lot of outfits I see today are cringeworthy but that’s just what I think perhaps.

Most people in both categories are still just trend hopping, social media algorithm clones with no organic or original style. You can especially tell if you just look at someones style as recent as 2020 or back to 2016-18. People who actually have their own style and taste stood out in the first half of the 2010s and prior to instagram becoming the main influence of fashion, now tiktok along side it. So many microtrends have become mega over saturated and ruined lots of classic clothing because social media when people who wore a lot of what is popular now around 10+ years ago got into it from their own point of refference and learning about clothing themselves, not blatantly copying how people do now
Style is what's left over after getting washed in fashion and trends. Style is the sum total of fashion. It's finding the balance out of everything that worked, the middle ground. We're comfortable in it which makes it look even better I think. It's like time and eternity. Time may go on eternally but is not Eternity because it will always have a starting point which is somewhere in Eternity itself. Fashion trends are things that don't last along the journey to being or having style. Don't know how many trends in fashion people will go through before they understand what they like and look good in. It'll be the simplest version of everything that worked, logos will be minimal or gone, function is going to be more important to them. I think the most stylish people are the ones who don't want to buy clothes regularly. They either are that or become that. Style is a uniform so even when dressed for occasions the Style that influences the Fashion is visible. That thing in our look that carries over. A color, silhouette, certain fittings, etc. Style is also in how we carry ourselves in what we're wearing and isn't more than being comfortable in it. Not being worried about how we look. I've seen and know people so worried about looking good, that the worry becomes their look. Like people who don't dance at parties because of looks. Hair gets messed, make up runs, shoes scuffed, clothes are too loose or too tight, sweat, it goes on. Style takes our everyday lives into consideration, fashion is just about how we look. Our everyday lives is where style lives which is why it's eternal unlike fashion.
For an individual, style is being presentable in their fashion without effort. Think about what it means to be presentable, we can't be fashionable everyday but we can be presentable, it means a lot. If we're presentable that also means we're comfortable. A piece of fashion that's stylish IMO is one that regardless of season or trends it works because it always looks good. I don't like bulk, I prefer fitted clean silhouette so my outer top layer is a trucker style of some kind. They're not big or long.
Basically style is your own push towards fashion at the time

A lot of brands and trends I really don't like example Rick Owen's and Balenciaga those 2 brands I really don't like. I'm more into classic amrican men's wear and tech. Brands Nudie Jeans, Naked & Famous Ralph Lauren RRL for Jeans and Jean jacket. Shirts ralph lauren, Uniqlo , Nudie or what ever really nice. Coats Saint Laurent, Celine, Ralph lauren, Canada Goose and Mackage. I keep it simple

Its not a chicken or the egg situation because art is purely a human phenomenon that only exists within the minds of human beings. fashion does not exists in the natural world however style unintentionally does. That being said if you go all the way back into human history, fashion didn't exist because brands didn't exist. Fashion is a byproduct of Brand Marketing and advertising and brands are a byproduct of manfucaturing and the industrial revolution. Prior to this most of the world was tribal and had no evolutionary advtange (survival need) for fashion however style has always existed but it did so involuntarily because the first forms of clothing were for functional utility purposes (survival) and aesthetics were only a byproduct of the enviroment, it was not invented. The first tribes didnt paint their skirts green, it was greeen because most plants are green (they used leaves) and it kept them cool from heat. The functionality of using leaves as skirts became common knowledge and became a trend as a byproduct of it and eventually a fashion statement which also does not exist in the natural world but invented by man and nature existed long before man. In conclusion, style came before fashion because it exists in nature, fashion only existed as long as humans have and only exist in the mind of humans. design (style) is recognized by other mammals and living species, fashion is not.

Fashion is personal and style is simply an extension of one's identity, but if you know you know true artistry resides outside of the US. the worst types of fashion tropes were birthed in the US.
There’s a lot of artistry that comes out of the US as well as outside of US. Give me some references of why you say this, I’m curious
