Getting a look at 2 of the top homegrown jockeys out of JA - ‘Chinna’ Bartley (RIP) aboard D’Revenge & ‘Narry’ Ramgeet on Stator. Both riders were stylish practitioners and also 3-time champions. Narry is still active, having won 7 races this year in US for a total of 1,786.
This was the 1987 Salute to Racing Ceremony raceday, which was February of that year and highlighted the champions of 1986. Owned by Derrick Smith of Seeking My Dream fame and trained by Wayne Dacosta, D's Revenge (Bartley astride here) humbled the big favourite Monday Morning (E. Miller) in the 2000 Guineas trial a few weeks later with Narry Ramgeet aboard. In the 16-furlong Caribbean Cup, which back then got underway at the 7F pole, Stator was enterprisingly ridden by Ramgeet, while Beucephalus ran a strange race, to say the least. That's racing, though!!!
@pelorusjack5461 if you say it was 87 ,then it's 87 because you have the encyclopedia brain, I will make the correction. Thank you again for your contribution to the vintage racing channel.

@neillyr12robb86 thanks again for being a part of the vintage racing channel. I'm not sure, some one says it's Hubert Bartley. Hopefully Pelorus Jack will tell us. The Caribbean Cup was 2 Miles then and it was reduced to 9furs.& 25 yards.
