Billy Williams was a superb conditioner. He took his craft very seriously and had a very good stable jockey in Trevor "Slicer" Simpson. Wow!

Good Night Boy gobbling them up in the final furlong to win with Slicer Simpson. Color commentary provided by Ed Barnes and the late James Long. Simpson who started riding in 1986 has had a solid career and has come close to maxing out his potential imo. One of his 1st big wins was aboard Persian Invader beating Prince Consort in the 86’ Prime Minister’s Stakes by a head. Another major win early on for him was with Monday Morning in the 87’ Gold Cup over Savage Waters & Bet A Buck. He was voted most improved rider in 87’. He is still active today.

Fantastic post as usual, Rohan, keep up the good work bro!!! "Billy" Williams is easily one of the best trainers in the history of local racing and many consider him to be the very best!!! "Slicer" Simpson is born to win races and is simply a riding machine😁. I remember this particular time in racing and the industry was flourishing in every aspect. Can't believe the industry has come to this... I heard a race commentary recently (not Spuddy) and it was a disgrace, to say the least!!!

My brother Pelorus jack has a racing historian I’m trying to remember a horse name she run only one time and that time she beat Temperance oaks the first time both of them was running she win with jockey J:Campines and fanna ride Temperance oaks them go 6/1/2 furlong and the trainer name was R:Donaldson who train her I just kind remember the horse name because she only run one time but she did look promising because she win by 4/1/2 lengths that day in 1:18

@@wayneclarke9695 She raced several times but she was making only her second career appearance when she beat Temperance Oaks. Shaneek Que is her name. You're right, Campines rode her and Fanna rode Temperance Oaks who was the overwhelming favourite. I believe it was Boxing Day '95. Talented horses like Nuttin But Red and Physics Book were also in the race. I believe Nuttin But Red run 1:24 1/5 second going 7F with Rudolph Paige in the saddle one day. I believe he won three races the same day, too, if my memory serve me right.
