I own two different camera systems, Sony and Fujifilm. I do like all the tech and spec of the Sony cameras, but I still decided to keep my Fujifilm. The main reason is because of the straight out of the camera jpegs. I have been a huge fan of Fujifilm color especially Eterna and Classic Chrome and always wanted to imitate the colors on my Sony.
In this video, I am sharing my "not so perfect" Classic Chrome settings for my Sony camera. I did not do any scientific tests to come up with this setting. It was just purely by my feel and trial and error of trying different stuff. Even though I know it's not the perfect setting to get the Fujifilm Classic Chrome look, I am sharing this video hoping someone more advanced will come up with better settings.

Thanks for the settings. I’m not familiar with Fuji, so I can’t say anything more than I like the look. I love the bluish tint of this creative style.
I also have the a7R4. I love using Light, with the saturation +3, contrast -3, and the sharpness +1.
Do you use the DRO when shooting JPEG, and if so, what threshold?

I would love to subscribe to a channel that talked only about this! 😂 I switched to Sony in 2019 but really miss jpeg colors from Canon and have thought of switching to Fuji... I hope you may consider making more of these film simulation tutorials for Sony bodies. Perhaps a series

Was on the fence about getting the x100v just for the classic chrome sim, but your tut saved me a lot of $$$$ since my entire ecosystem is Sony. With your settings and post editing, it comes extremely close. Thanks a bunch buddy!
the x100v has an aps-c sensor so they don't even compare

Veres Deni Alex has more Sony film simulations settings that mimic Fuji. But, you have to pay to get access. Haven't tried it myself but seems interesting.

I've been looking at fujifilm while having my sony because of their film simulation (mainly classic chrome)...but bro, never have i thought of tinkering with sony color until i watch your video and it opened my eyes 😮 definitely will experimenting! 😋
A tip for everyone looking for better colours in your Sony jpegs: Check out Veres Dani Alex here on youtube. He has spent the 2 to 3 last years to develop Sony film simulations. It costs $30,- for a lot of recipes, including updates for years to come. I will get this myself.

I was looking to purchase Fujifilm X100V just for the film simulations. This video may have saved me some $$$. Will play around to get film simulation look haha. Please let me know if you already have a video in simulating film on Sony :) Great Video!
you know Fuji make about 50 other camera models that have film simulations, the X100V is just hyped...

Didn't like these settings in specific (liked standard of my a7IV more) BUT: very interesting approach and concept. would be nice to get more looks like that.

I was just watching @Christopher Rey and he was talking about how you can downlod the Fuji Recipes, and my question was if there is a way to convert That “Fuji Look” settings into A7IV.

My team in the studio I work for are all on the Fuji system. I’m the only one on the Sony system. Will be trying this on my fx3 and a7iv. If it works, it’ll save me some time color grading outputs from my Sony to their Fuji 😂. Thanks a mill

@Michael Young Kim, i am missing a little bit of red with the sony at the last comparison in the street with the orange street sign. But i gone try that en letting you now if thats the case. Whats funny that i have almost the same combo. Fujifilm x-pro2 and Sony a7 mark 4 and the 35mm 1.4 gm lens 😂👍 great combo btw and thanks for the video because i have the same feeling with the fuji colors and i was searching for this answer.

Kodak Portra 400? I read someware that creativ style Portrait ISO400 Contrast -2 Color-1 sharpness +1 WB daylight but I don't know the Tint.. maby on the warm side A2G1 I dont know.. It's fun to experiment.

And this will work on my Sony a6000? I've done it, as you've suggested, and in just waiting for a nice, sunny day (Birmingham, UK). We have our own 'special' sun, in Birmingham, and the city is not over populated with high buildings. Can't wait. I'll give you the lowdown.

I'm not saying that Sony has bad colors, but Sony does have bad colors SOOC compared to Fujifilm and Canon. I have all 3.

Wondering is it possible if I keep using AWB but set the tint to B1 instead of Kelvin B1? My country has this weird atmosphere weather so it looks weird with the kelvin sometimes.
Yes. You can definitely change the tint on your AWB. I believe you just have to click right once you are at AWB and you should be able to change your tints there.
The more I use this the more I think you might have accidentally discovered the ’Eterna’ film simulation rather than classic chrome

Hi! might sound a bit dumb since im very new to photography. Im looking to buy a sony rx100vii since its so compact, but I really want that fuji film sim look. My question is more of editing raw images. is it possible to get that fuji look on them? Ive heard that there are fuji presets on certain softwares, do they actually come pretty close to the fuji film sim on the cameras? TY!
Hi! To be honest, if you want fuji colors, the best thing is to just get Fuji x100v (still pretty small). I tried various presets online but it never gave the true Fuji look. And these presets are not made specific to a certain camera so the results always varies.
@@MichaelYoungKim Gotcha! One of my main concern is that I want to show concerts too. So its going to be a bit lowlight-ish and id need a tiny bit of zooming. Do you think the x100v will be flexible enough for that? I've actually been eyeing the XE4 with the 27mm lens too for compactness haha. Thanks!!
@@supermassivedonut You have to pick between the flexibility of the focal length vs low light performance. For lowlight the x100v will be better because it has bigger sensor and for framing and composition the rx100vii will be better.

You can use light creative look it is quite similar to neutral
Can you suggest Leica tone with sony?

still may see that fuji's colors are more pleasant, a bit warmer in general, sky is more beautiful, reds are more punchy even everything muted a bit, etc etc, and man, that would be more fair and accurate for comparison if you'd provide every shot with the same scene next to each other, those couple shots are kinda limiting that comparison
