Yes!!!! Finally a clear explanation for ILS landing, thanks!!!
I love this plane as well as the Piper PA28R.
Good work !
Many thanks
Hi, great Tutorial and do you know why sometime the ON GLIDE SLOPE annunciator is not activated (Light on) ... even setting the right ILS frequency with Approach selector and VRTCL (light On) ? Thank you
Just make sure you intercept the slope from below as in any airplane - if you’re too high, it won’t descend.
Thank you for this! So you don't have to set the localizer course as a VOR radial like on other planes? I couldn't find a knob for that, only for the plane's own heading bug which of course will be different as you're trying to intercept the localizer.
No, it’s all driven by the GPS. As long as the ILS frequency is set to nav 1, you’re good
You need to set couse for reference on ILS app, will help in case you were vectored by atc, you can set the course on the navigator desk
@@stsfiveonefoxtrot_3458 it works on autopilot without that - but yes, if you want it to be accurate on the HSI for manual vectoring or whatever, it makes sense to dial in the course.
You were landing at 200kts???? Oh wait.. russian resp.Ukrainian airplane - does it show KPH, actually? I bought Mriya on day one, but haven't yet flown it too much. I always start on an apron, open checklist, get spooked by the sheer amount of points&length of the startup procedures, and either leave with "gonna do it properly later" thought in the back of my mind, or just do the startup automatically, depart the airport, fly manually for a while, but eventually get frustrated that i didn't do it properly and quit. 😀
I gotta learn to do it by heart.
I learned the FBW's A320NX startup in the following way. I got MSFS on one monitor, Excel on the other. As i go through the checklist, i make notes of WHAT the procedure/button does and WHERE is it located.
This way i'm automatically making a mental note of it as well, and i remember it better than if i just clicked on the buttons as i go forward.
When i do it the second/third time, i usually do a small edits to the excel cheatsheet, remove things that aren't essential etc., so it further helps to remember the procedures, and with more and more flights, i eventually find out i don't need the excel anymore.
Of course, if i switch to a different airplane, and don't fly it for a while, i need to go back to my notes, but in any case, it's helpful to do this.
How to avoid the turning and stall ? Anybody knows?
More speed / less weight :)
friend, a question. Why sometimes the plane seconds before landing suddenly gets lost from the airway? stop following her as if she took off the autopilot
Because default MSFS autopilot is a little buggy, especially around approach
Its not working for me. Whenever I turn approach mode on the wing level mode turns on and wont turn off. It also will not get on the GS
Could be an issue with your plan, frequency setting, and/or altitude. Post a video and I can diagnose
@@TiJayFLY you're awesome man thank you. I'll post one later today
Ok, I tried this and didn't work for me so I have 2 questions, first where do I have put the ILS frequency?? It look like the GPS had it automatically when I choose the ILS approach in the SIM world but the funny thing is that the GPS isn't getting the flight plan automatically, do you have any idea why the flight plan don't appear in the GPS ?¿?
ILS frequency needs to be set as nav 1 in the GPS, as seen at the beginning of the full flight tutorial. I recommend you watch that first, before focusing on the approach phase shown in detail here.
Flight plan not pulling through should not happen - check you don’t have any GPS mods that might conflict. Remember that AAU1’s patch notes recommend that you uninstall any existing GPS mods.
If you don’t have any mods, feel free to drop by the discord in the description and post screenshots of the flight plan in the sim world map, the GPS map page, and the FLIGHT PLAN page of the GPS.
@TiJayFLY awesome let me check that video then, I don't have any GPS mods installed, but I remember that this GPS had an update several weeks ago and I removed it because was acting weird, I should probably go ahead and install that update
@@forthydollars remove anything you have in your Community folder that is related to the GNS530 - it’s been merged into the main sim now.
@@TiJayFLY I'll do that, thanks, that's why probably I was having problems, if I have the one in the community and then I tried to update with the one within the sim
@TiJayFLY I don't have anything related to GNS530 in my community folder I only have the PMS50 - 750 thought
Can it do RNAV approaches?
It can do anything the default GNS530 can do. I believe that includes lateral guidance for RNAV
@@TiJayFLY i did my first flight in it yesterday and I tried to do the RNAV approach and it wasn’t following the vertical guidance. Idk if I put the autopilot setting incorrectly 🤷🏻♂️
@@VintageAviation737 I doubt it’ll follow the vertical guidance, I don’t think any GNS530 airplane has coupled vertical guidance.
How do you get the glide slope to show up on the HSI? I can only get the localizer offset. The glide slope needle never moves on mine.
Do you get the ON GLIDE SLOPE annunciator? Are you approaching the GS from below, and do you have VRTCL mode enabled after intercepting the localiser?
@@TiJayFLY I was flying level manually through the intercept altitude on ILS course heading. HSI shows localizer. But the glide slope needle stays above me even when I have made it past the intercept altitude. Normally it would have moved from above to below right as I’m passing the intercept altitude. I’m wondering why it works laterally on the HSI but not vertically.
@@humpypumpy interesting. Perhaps worth checking that one in the airplane manual to see if it’s intended or a bug
@@TiJayFLY got it. The bank of buttons on the lower left beside the HSI. Needs to be on the first one of the top row. (POS but in Cyrillic… looks like “NOC”) which enables the land guidance on captain side. It’s not in the manual.
She's definetely not fps friendly
Can anyone help i can't intercept the localizer
Not without a video showing the issue
@@TiJayFLY where can I send you the vid??
No. I can't. When I get to the FA I turn the knob to approximation. Then I press the button that is just below the knob just like you do. but it doesn't glideslop
Make sure you’re approaching the slope from below
I am facing huge low frames in an -225 only
Yup it’s a frame eater for sure.
@@TiJayFLY my gpu is not utilized full in an -225 only 50% gpu uses .
@@tanayrchoudhury5536 frames per second is more complex than that. It’s just an unoptimized model, it’ll improve.
Cool graphics.!...pity Put in rubbish destroyed it in the Ukraine war✈️😔
The proceeds from every sale of this add-on are being used to fund the An-225’s rebuild and restoration
Hate this plane, at every endflight it falls from the sky like a stone.
Is that just after it intercepts the localiser, and it ignores the selected altitude / glideslope? That’s a well known bug with Asobo’s default autopilot
@@TiJayFLY Yes this too. But its more the problem when i have 90% payload and flaps 15 and 360kmh it falls to the ground. His there some where a list where i can see the settings for flaps and speed for a % of payload. Looks like every time i go into stall.
@@inagerli I think there’s a manual included with the airplane in its /documentation folder. If you’re on Xbox I’d guess there’s some alternative way to access the manual, maybe the iniBuilds website
@@TiJayFLY Thank you !
@@TiJayFLY Hi. You ever have try to flight it with max payload?
