That was always the most likely outcome. Guys a addict of some kind, they always talk about getting robbed and say they're a tee-tottaler down on his luck. Twenty years ago it happened to one foreigner in Puerto Galera and the good thing is he was adapted by my cousin without any question or ask in return for almost half a year until he is good enough to travel. They contacted their embassy and arranged his travel to go back to his home country and you what happened next. After 3 years he came back with his brother and pay his respect and appreciation to the people who help him in times of need. In our village/brgy. we knew each other and help one another in time of need.

@@arykdaknowmad390 You know sometimes it does just happen that a person finds themselves with no one. He says all family are gone, not broken contact due to problems.
Personally, at his age this has happened to me: no immediate family left in this country after parents die, partner and my 2 life--long friends die in the space of 2 years. Suddenly everything is gone. Thankfully I have not lost my assets or property. But I can see how just one more stroke of bad luck and I'd be on the streets relying on charity and services for a roof over my head. Not because I'm a druggy or some kind of low life.
The degree to which the people in these comments refuse to believe he has not caused and chosen the situation he's in is disturbing. At the same time, I can see what people are talking about. Some of this 'look' he has, that people are judging him on, may be a result of decades of hardship and loss, rather than some inherent flaws. I can see that something in his face and manner that I have also seen in homeless/addict populations, and he didn't seem genuinely interested in what was on offer (other than the cash).

@@doggy55915His wife took his home and his money, his passport and documents were stolen too, his ex wife was done for drugs and her family no different. A previous visa is still valid and he says no use renewing expensive UK passport as he doesn’t need it, just his barangay clearance. So my guess is he needs that at least to allow travel considering no passport

Nothing against donations. I got the whole story. But I think the effort will be in vain. I have my doubts that he really wants to get out of his situation. (barangay clearance)
There will always be new alleged problems that prevent him from improving his situation.
That's what I think anyway. But of course I could be wrong.
But of course all the best and good luck for Greg.
