    I know one thing is certain~ I tried to book a dental appointment in my area and they are booking appointments for mid June….thats prior to this ridiculous dental care program (I won’t say free dental because nothing in this world is free).
    Govt needs to stay focused on retaining more doctors and dentist instead of eating billions on programs that are defeated before even starting.

    Pretty sure this guy has no idea how doctors work as corporations and invest within those corps to save for retirement. There is no $250K limit on that, every dollar of gains they make on those savings is now being taxed at higher rate. The government has their gold plated pensions. How about telling them they are now going to be getting 10% less in retirement to make things fair??

    At the 3:51 point of the video our Health Minister used the phrase "...making $250,000 a year in their retirement" . That's a point about INCOME tax. He didn't answer the question about the rate of tax on CAPITAL GAINS on (potentially risky) investments purchased with a medical practitioner's after-tax income.

    • @planesandbikes7353
      @planesandbikes7353 Před 18 dny +2

      yes the doctor will be paying the higher cap gains on their entire income within his/her professional corporation, even if they only make $50k, or $150k. Hardly any family doc make over $250k but their income and retirement fund has just be grossly devalued by this move.

    This is how you fast track doctors from foreign countries still looking to crack the Canadian market, to become employed quicker because those already employed, who will lose heavily on the gains tax, will just leave the country for a more favorable position south of our border and those coming in will relish the work. In the end, the customer will pay again!
