I have been reading and studying the occult, and everything esoteric and magickal for 20 years. Every path. Every religion. It got to the point where everything has been said before. No new Ideas. I really like the idea of just playing with energy, getting comfortable and familiar with it. I did a thing with it and it gave me such a great feeling that I didn’t expect!!

I was in a Wiccan coven for a short period of time, which was my first intro to ritual so that sticks in my mind even though I'm far from Wiccan... My husband over the years has used antheogens, and we actually recently discussed that very thing--that my fear of losing control or getting lost or being confronted with something truly awful is what's kept me from experimenting with hallucinogenics, which is fundamentally why antheogens are not for me or my spiritual path, at least not at this time. But--that fear hasn't squelched my curiosity. Can't wait for your astral projection videos.
I know how you feel - I had to take ownership of my own, highly individualised magickal practice. I knew that if I didn't do that, it wouldn't be coming from my heart. You can't force yourself to go by the books if they don't resonate with what magick means to you. Stay inspired!
I really liked what you said about relating to gods and characters from modern media. Gods that have most resonated with me have been always from videogames like dragon age or books like lord of the rings rather than ''real'' gods
I feel that you may have misinterpreted the true meaning of 'ego', at least in the sense in which I'm discussing it here. The ego is your collected conscious thoughts and feelings about your sense of self, both good and bad, comfortable and uncomfortable. It's your accepted view of yourself. Popular sayings like 'ego trip' and 'big ego' have made people mistakenly believe that 'ego' just means boosting your self-esteem in ways which could seem callous or self-involved and this is quite wrong.

I love your mention of the difference of Spellwork and Ritual, and I have always found that the Gnosis of Spellwork is manipulation of something within reality through will, versus to me the Gnosis of Ritual is the changing of Reality through a Paradigm Shift, essentially using the Hermetic Principle of the Mental Universe to literally change the energetic presentation of the Universe around oneself to empower the Self by becoming a higher version of oneself.
I also love how you present Daemons, to me they are the Shadow Aspects of Divinity, and I actually have had very positive experiences with Daemons by approaching them from the view that there is no difference between me and them through the Universal Law of Oneness.
I think it would be very powerful to apply the Psychological concept of Daemons as Shadow Self manifestations of the Personal Unconscious which play the part of one's personal manifestation in Existence. The premade Daemons of the Grimoires to be the Shadow Aspects of the Collective Unconscious could also be of use in Magickal practice.
Also, the way that you mention Invocation really resonates with me; in my path Invocation is the achievement of a Hybrid Energy Gateway (or Hybrid State) with the energy and knowledge of the entity, essentially meeting in the middle with another entity or energy.
Wow, thanks so much for this! There's too much juicy stuff here to respond to in a comment. Although I've always felt drawn to magic, it's something I've very much stepped away from in recent years, and I've never found a way to integrate it into my spirituality in a way that really works for me. But you've given me a lot of inspiration here. I'll definitely be coming back to watch this again, and I'd absolutely love to see another video on this topic!

I'm glad you reminded me of the demon work and making pacts. I just realized that I've got demons to address. I find it really therapeutic and creative to work magic with your demons. I have done that before when I was suffering horrible abuse at work and it really helped me overcome the feelings of powerlessness, which is one of the key features of demons. I would love to read the books you have written by the way. I hope to find out what they are at some point.

Are you asking what stops the shadow self from taking over? The shadow self according to Jung's teachings embodies exactly what we *don't* want to take over, so we kind of throw it into the darkness, ignoring, denying or reviling it when in fact it is simply a part of our whole. Accepting the shadow and exploring it means that we diminish our fear of it and acknowledge it as part of our integrated being. Please feel free to ask more questions and I'll come back to it..

Oh I will also just say - I think what you said about demons and ego magic was some of the most interesting stuff here for me, it's not a way that I've ever thought about magic before, but it's absolutely fascinating. Feeling very excited now to start trying to see if this is something I can work with! I feel like now that I've laid down the very basics of my spiritual practice, there's room for building on it with stuff like this.
I can understand why people find it scary and it's not for everyone. I mean, I believe that everyone can do it in theory, but like the use of hallucinogenics, it's only really a productive domain for those with no fear in their hearts. If there's fear, it's usually for a reason and that fear should be respected. With drugs, if you're paranoid and fearful, the trip is likely to go badly. The astral is the same. I am definitely planning an astral projection video or two in the future :)

I think it's possible that you may need to look at the underlying causes for the fear and anxiety first. In order to know the universe we must know and maintain a relationship with ourselves. To be a powerful magickal vessel, you have to heal. That's my point of view. I only really started to trust my own power once I'd harnessed it and utilised it to work a little magick on *me* :)

I see ego as a good thing. Being a student of forensic science I kind of use that as a protection mechanism, so when someone gets up in my face or has bullied me either now or in the past. I'm just like "Well I have a degree, what have you done with your life?.. sort of thing" and I use it to make them feel small, in turn making me feel better about myself. It's a darker side to my personality but I know that accepting who I am makes me a stronger person both emotionally and spiritually.

I believe in demons and angels and gods and unicorns and flying pigs and monkeys and witches and saints and hell and heaven, and I believe none of it is what we think it is, even though it was created by our own thought. I believe Crowley was the original Rock and Roller that like the best of them just got lost in the drugs. I believe life is what we make it, so your luck is very much appreciated. I will need it as I take this path less travelled.

Monkeys are certainly real, and like all other life on earth they literally share common ancestors with us just as we and plants are both Eukaryotes and share that common ancestor with other Eukaryotes yet not with bacteria. I believe monkeys are very real indeed. Flying pigs though? Well I guess there was the Nazi Luftwaffe.
Love the idea of memory magick. I revisit places in my past often in dreams. I am going to create my astral alter in one of these places. Thank you!
I'd love to hear a video from you strictly on astral projection, perhaps even your experiences (unless that's too personal). When my mother was a child she found some way to project out of her body, not to an astral realm, but to invoke out of body experiences at will. As such, since I was a kid I've been fascinated by out of body experiences and astral projection, though admittedly, I find the thought of practicing either myself somewhat frightening.

What if people go around doing that subconsciously without even realizing it and in healing themselves they go back and leave energy there in traumatic times and then you get a haunting? I am thinking about this because as I was meditating on doing this, I worried that I would feel the extra feelings there in that time since time isn’t linear. It’s interesting to contemplate what could happen to those feelings and energy that get left in the past.
I wanted to say that this was an extremely well done topic and would like to get your thoughts on a few areas I'm curious about. On the topic of the shadow self and psychological fragments that were labeled as demons, I'm wondering if these areas of our psychological make-up, whether they are benevolent or destructive what ensures the safety/sanity of the whole from becoming over-powered, destructive, or dissociative?

When you say "energy" and "vibrations" what exactly are you referring to? Like when you describe holding energy between your hands, what energy is it? Trying to learn more about magical ritual.

WOULD WORK WONDERS 4 ME-COS IT WOULD BE A EXTRA POSITIVE SYMBOL TO ADD 2 MY TATTOO COLLECTION 2 GIVE ME MORE DETERMINATION ONTOP OF WHAT I HAVE @ DA MO...THE 4 ELEMENTS ARE ALSO DEFINED As the rinse cycle.....n magic kind of has a lot of different aspects like elements......their hand in hand-:>).

I would like to ask you if you have some piece of advice for someone who is very sensitive, and easily overwhelmed by fear and anxiety: How in this case is it possible to "control" this energy, and turn it into healing and creative energy? kool!! i always said that ego is like an anvil,,,back in the day when someone always remind me that ego is the human cancer,but somehow i always felt like disagreeing on him ,now i realize that mostly because the overall attitude of that person,,but anyways,,,the things you say i relate a lot ...i also consider myself to be dedicating a part of my work to deconstructing the nocive ego,..in a lot of ways ,,and not just "magical" its very political to mee too,,having the ability to begin by being yourself as something very important when it comes to be aware of the specific system that surrounds us and how that applies to justice,..etc,,....i also feel very attracted to the choronzon entitie.....
