The Lincoln Mark 3 was designed to replace the 4 door convertible that Continental lost money on every one sold! The Mark 3 was introduced in late 68 so, technically, including the "68-1/2" a 4 year run. There are a few small difference between the 68-1/2 and the 69. One of the more interesting ones was that the 68-1/2 came equipped with a balanced and blueprinted 460 straight from the factory. They used to know how to build cars during this vintage; No apologies!

The only way this car could be more gorgeous is if it had the vinyl roof delete option. Only a handful of all steel Mark III's were made and they are drop dead gorgeous. The lines really pop without the vinyl roof.

460 motor vacuum door locks and windshield wipers are vacuum as well one of my best cars !
In 69 the wipers are hydraulic and run off the power steering pump.

I own a 70 MK lll too. As of a few years ago when I last checked SMS Fabrics had the correct seem width Calvary twill tops

Jay I just pulled the trigger 3 months ago ordered a new top for my Mark lll from SMS. It arrive last week and no other top can compete! If you want your Mark lll to look factory original 100% pull the trigger. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for!

Unfortunately while I feel these SHOULD be selling for $50-75k even in this condition you’d be hard pressed to get. $ 30k. They just don’t bring in that much which I think is odd. Yet a POS Mustang or 69 Camaro can easily be a75-100)k +** car with thought options etc.

How about the pneumatics ?

Robert there are zero pneumatics on a Mark lll aside from the Hydraulic wipers that work off power steering system. The power locks, headlight doors, rear flow through vent, climate system etc are all vacuum or electro-vac operated. They’re pretty robust and well made. I’ve owned myMark lll since 1985 and all of the power accessories still work and I’ve had zero issues with any of them
