      How does it work?

    • @StevenBanks123
      @StevenBanks123 Před rokem +4

      @@games4us132 our cells use oxygen to produce sugars, which fuel our cells. How? Heck if I know. But big beasts need energy to move and they grew them bigger back then, in the sea, on the land, and in the air. Even insects could be huge e.g. dragonflies with 2.5 foot wingspans. Air pressure have to be somewhat higher to to support the inefficient when design of creatures like pterodactyls.

    • @shadowmax889
      @shadowmax889 Před rokem +2

      Back in the Mesozoic, the oxygen levels were almost the same as today's.
      The difference is the respiratory system, dinosaurs have air sacs with a more efficient respiratory system, and hollow bones to compensate their massive volume with relatively low weight (like birds, who are dinosaurs too)

    • @StevenBanks123
      @StevenBanks123 Před rokem

      @@shadowmax889 thanks. That leaves air pressure as a differentiator to account for size?

    • @shadowmax889
      @shadowmax889 Před rokem

      @@StevenBanks123 Not at all. Archosaurs (birds and crocodiles, and by extension pterosaurs and dinosaurs) have a very efficient respiratory system (better than mammals) They have air sacs and one directional air flow.
      Because their respiratory system is more efficient at taking oxygen from air, they can achieve higher metabolic rates with lower body density and become bigger and faster than mammals today

    For some reason, Riojasaurus, a sauropodomorph, has the sprite of an iguanodontid in this video.
    And Tarbosaurus and Tyrannosaurus are both way too oversized, with Tyrannosaurus actually being slightly taller than Tarbosaurus instead of the thing in the video.
    Video :
    Tyrannosaurus: 5m
    Tarbosaurus : 5.28m
    Actual Upper Estimate :
    Tyrannosaurus : 4.56m
    Tarbosaurus : 3.95m
    And no. Sauroposeidon is the tallest dinosaur.
