Nice vintage boat. I'd have trouble with such confined space. As a land based person, I couldn't help thinking how inefficient I am in my home space. I look at this and realize one could live aboard and use this efficient space. I wonder why I have so much space allocated to just two people, but it is what I am used to. But it is kind of silly given many rooms I just use occasionally. But then I like the variety.
I would be totally comfortable in this boat
They were bunks. The definition is a narrow shelflike bed either alone, aside others or most commonly associated with one stacked upon another.
Much like the magazine for a gun is the container holding the ammunition but a large building holding ammunition is also a magazine. I really appreciate the work that you do and especially the way that you do it. I'm subscribed to several similar channels and whenever one has a boat that I like I immediately look to see if you have covered it because the style of your art is....comforting? As well as perfectly paced and you go much further into the specifics that I'm interested in without bogging down the rhythm. I hope that you and those you care for are happy, healthy, and safe this new year. Semper Fidelis P.S Please forgive me for any misspellings words that are out of context or poor punctuation. I lost my hand in Afghanistan so now I dictate rather than type and the program is not perfect.
Show more of the older well maintained affordable yachts. Always good to see some of these classics out there.
I bought a boat to live on and it was great, for a while. You have to be prepared to spend more on upkeep, slip fees and utilities, etc. than a house. And unlike the fact that a house will appreciate in value, a boat won't. In other words, be prepared to lose all your investment!
This is lovely! We appreciate the affordable series videos very much. It warms my heart to see the older vessels with so much character and warmth so well cared for.
Awwww sooo happy to hear!
I love these affordable videos, people in todays economy needs an alternative to the housing crisis! Not always an option but it is one option :)
Soo happy to hear đ
I agree. I'm in the market for a liveaboard and love to see affordable options for me. Thank you.
True. But I am wondering the cost of Marina fee's?
@@lc285 very true!!
Agree
I just love the vintage boat tours, more of these please! We are restoring a 1988 42 foot Bertram, previously owned by a professional baseball player! Classic and nostalgicâ€

You have never heard of Morse Controls? Teleflex Morse have been making Bowden Cable control systems since the Bowden Cable was invented. IIRC they are the oldest maker of cable control systems still in business, almost every sub 30 metre commercial vessel of that age and older in the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand used Morse Controls. In fact, Bowden cables are more commonly known as Morse cables in many countries. In some markets, Teleflex Morse are now known as Kongsberg but it's the same company.
Nice one!
I have owned 3 powerboats and 3 sailboats here in SoCal, all off them have had Morse controls and cables. Can be a bitch to replace the cables due to how they are routed, but the norm OEM for most boats in the US. Done with this couple, no clue on boats and suggesting people to buy a boat to live on as opposed to a house. I spend more on my boat than my 1.5 mil house, these videos are totally misleading, btw both my boat and house are both paid for.
Agreed, the rule of thumb is 10% of the value in maintence per year but in the case of cheap boats it will be more more like 20 to 25 percent. @@brianrogers6059
For a 1983 model, it has been tastefully updated and looks like it has been maintained very well!! I loved watching the tour as well!! đđ
Glad you enjoyed it!
A lot of the folks who watch your channel (like me) dream about having a live-aboard vessel like this. At this price range, quite a few of us, especially those selling property with plans to retire, could make the switch. This boat is old but has been well cared for, and could provide great memories to a new family hoping to get out on the water. Thanks for this series - I think a lot of us appreciate it. I do at least. BTW, is it for sale? I don't think you said.
It's for sale. Listing is in the video description.
If don't think I could stand the thought of swapping an appreciating asset for a depreciating money pit.I don't think my children would thank me either.
First question should be HOW MUCH ARE THE SLIP FEES?
Superb old girl.. looks like she has been taken care of very well. Lots of old school varnished wood, 125hp engines. You know that's from the 80s
40 year boat she appears to aged very well. Love the old school stern
She would be a great large lake vessel, overnights, with ski boats and grand kids.
Victoria you looked amazing in the stripe outfit. And legs đŠ” for daysâ€
Agreed Robert - thanks for the compliments
Pocket doors on land go back A LONG TIME. I know older Victorian era homes built in the 1870's/1880's in my area have them. Usually they seperate the front "parlor" from the dining room that is directly behind it. IE if you were entertaining back in the day, once supper was finished you moved into the parlor, closed the pocket doors while the help cleared the table.
The parquet wood flooring throughout looks in very good condition. Iâd have this boat in a blink of an eye.
We agree!
Adding a 10mm cork sea deck outside and above the main aft cabin would make this vessel look great not only is it super grippy even more than teak it lasts as long ..it's great under foot cushions the feet and protects the deck surface against dropped items and footwear.
It insulates against sound, heat gain and loss it's also non toxic and flame retardant ... recyclable. đ€·đ»đ§đ»ââïž
As for pocket doors definitely in Victorian and Edwardian houses. Probably industrial and farm buildings as well on boats and other such .. 50s 60s definitely 70s on in caravans and boats.
A nice older boat for a couple or a family.. balistic polycarbonate panels could make those side rails safe and keep the weather off and still keep a clear view where required. That aft deck roof is perfect for solar even walk on .
The engine room is supremely practical..because you can get round stuff and those engines were often found in tractors if not mistaken.... So sloggers.
Following this boat owners maxim , a boat is for life not just a fling..đ
Going wild there's plenty of space to even go electric diesel generator drive .. probably increasing performance, efficiency and removing noise, vibration and fumes.
And if anyone says that's not going to work I can give you two excellent examples from Japan or Korea and a 61 ft steel live aboard built for a guy who lives in Norway all year round and whose slow cruising philosophy means his generators burn 0.5 litres per hour in powering the e motors ... I'm checking that again I'm still đź the modern patrol boat works out at 30% more fuel efficient.. đ§đ»ââïžđïž
Per Victoria's question, The Pocket Door was first invented/introduced in the 1850's in the U.S. then in England during the Victorian era.
Thanks for the insight!! đđ
You guys always crack us up! Great Video!
Glad you enjoyed đ
Fabulous boat and tour. Thanks Nauti â€
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching Joe!
A 40 yo new yacht if engines have been maintained as well as the rest of the yacht. Love the layout. Great use of space. Great starter or liveaboard. Enjoy these classics.
Thank you Terry - we appreciate you watching đ
I guess all of these boats mechanical are well taken care of.
Another great tur! If I were not 89 years old, I would buy this yacht in a heartbeat LOVE YOU GUYS.
We love you back Leland đ«¶
Cute "vessel" for a liveaboard. Little small for us, but it's perfect for someone out there!
Thatâs right Richard - happy Saturday to you!
You to are just fun to watch....

Pocket doors invented in 1850.... Wow. Became popular in 1880's thanks for the lovely tour Victoria and Rico đ
Pocket doors were first invented when pockets were made in jeans đ
Thanks for sharing Joe đđŒđđ
The best thing about your channel is affordable live aboard. There's lots of channels showing boats that can't be afforded, but you always come up with affordable boats in great condition.
They neatly sidestep marina fees, constant maintenance, depreciation, repairs etc. Owning a boat is a bottomless money pit. Hardly affordable.
Thanks for sharing!
Love your affordable yacht series. I know you guys have grown but stick with your roots, this series definitely identifies with a bigger audience and I miss seeing these affordable gems. Oh just one more critique. You should hold a raffle for Rico's Panerai. đ. I would buy plenty of tickets.
Hahahaha! Glad you like it! đ€Șđ€Ș
And when you asked "how far back do pocket doors go?" my immediate response was "all the way, obviously."
Apparently, the 1850s. If you can trust Google.
đ€Łđ€Ł
Beautiful boat, a lot of character and history of of being loved loved by previous ow owners owners
Could not believe the size of the gallery, that was amazing for a small yacht. Plus all the deck space. Cracking little place to live.
a great vessel for sure!!
I have a idea that I'll never be able to do because of my poverty and injury. You know the thick plastic that tuna comes in,I have used them for a wallet for decades because they keep everything dry. If you put a zipper,zip-lock on it and you could put your own art on them and even make them collectable and call them " Dry-Doc" ( get it ,dry document's). It's perfect for you two.
On more thing is that the bottom corners is the part that wears out first so you might want to redesign them a little bit,or not. But I have had this idea for a long time. I am good with art and liked the idea of putting my art out there. Super cheap.
Thanks for sharing đ
Always love your videos!
I am late because I needed a nap. I am here now and this yacht looks great. I can't wait to "explore" it.
Nice boat. Thanks guys
Great job as always â€đ
Very nice boat, very good at showing this classic.
Y'all are the best ! I can't wait to Saturday to see what you have to have for us!â€
Awww thank you so much for your kind words đ«¶đđ
Great music and of course the entertainment
Love the videos. Thanks for all the hard work and time.

Wow this one is a keeper
Not sure when pocket doors would have started appearing on boats, but I would think they have been used for quite some time. My house was built in 1913 and was built with pocket doors, as well as many others around that are older.
đđŒđđ
I think you should think about asking Alexy to build a 70-foot catamaran for you and use your 75 foot until the catamaran is built.
Thanks for the suggestion lol
Another great vid! Stay safe

You guys always make me dream of owning a live aboard keep up the great content
very practical. I could live aboard it.
đđŒđđ
Such a classic with almost everything I would look for in a live-aboard yacht. My only changes might be to add as much solar as possible and a couple of masted wind turbines amidship. With the planned use my partner and I have I would add a good sonar and radar in the inside helm and satellite Internet for both extended weather, comm, and hazard warnings, as well as to facilitate my ability to work from aboard ( I'm a science fiction writer and have to both back up work and transmit files to my editors and published. But what a way to live as a writer with my beautiful partner free to roam in a home such as this!
awesome yacht
I know why he says it... Respect. There's something about an older boat, ship, vessel, I think that respect is cool, thank you guys
Thanks for sharing!!
In 1878, post Civil War, an inventor named Paul Pocket built, sold and installed the first "hiding, sliding door". The vessel was the S.S. Minnow. SS stood for Steam Ship which was confusing because the vessel had a gasoline engine. That is why people began calling the door "Pocket Door". Same thing happened to Bill Crapper's invention, the flush toilet that folks began calling "crappers". BTW - a lot of this information is documented.
The way the interior opened up as you went down the hatch was startling! This is a very comfortable looking boat; the wood interior has me relaxing while just looking. I would like to see some sort of multifunction plotter at the interior helm to present more information and help situational awareness.
This really jumps to the top of my 'like' list!
Pocket doors were popular in Victorian Homes
Hello you two, I just saw a tour of Bilgin's "Leona". An absolute MUST for you. Spectacular. Would love to see you on it
Do not know what to say except love your videos. Can't wait to see your finished Bering yacht.
Awwww thank you Gerald đđ
Great tour, and appreciate the entry levels shown too.
Thanks for watching!!
Oh, and I am definitely a fan of all things old-school... Absolutely love the analog gauges (and my '69 Luhrs 32 sportfisher/office had Morse shift & throttle controls)
AWESOME!!
Loved that tableâŁ
Thanks for watching!
My favorite pillow is back! lol Love it! Thanks for the laugh! đ€©đđ

New luxury Yamaha top of the line Waverunners go for (10X) $20K ea. With all the money you could make, it will put you in a beautiful waterfront home in the Bahamas. As Captain Nemo always said, don't chase trouble, go for the fun, that's fun in the sun on a beautiful ocean.
We love your nauti adventures and tours. Weâd like to see you make a T-shirt that says âplenty of storages and cupholders!â đ
A really pretty boat. Thanks for another great tour! Love you guys. đ€©đđ
Welcome back!! đđ»đâïž
love the affordable series
Awww thanks Bob
One day is going to be the right time to seek my house, there will be a video just like this, and soon after a video about that guy from Denver who bought the boat from the video.
Love this video and your excitement for the trip back in History. Morse makes the engine levers, has been bought out but still available. Dishwasher, great AC Iâd live there. Thanks
Whoaaaa thanks for sharing!
Amazing how the owner/s have taken such great care of this vessel
Love you guys!!! And your tours!!â€
We love you back!
Well done. Another great tour of a beautiful classic vessel. I love the aft cabin master stateroom yachts. I could be very comfortable on this vessel.
Glad you enjoyed!
nice !!
Excellent video of this small yacht. It looks like a good one.
It is!
I really do like the aft cabin models. This has been well-maintained. Would be a great liveaboard and lake cruiser.
Agreed đ
Itâs a nice, affordable, classic yacht. Itâs actually 52â long. Usually I am enthralled by the wood on these old boats, but this one not so much. Itâs workable and a good value.
You are so pretty!! Lâ€VE all of your yacht tours! Thank you for sharing. Someday soon I will also be sailing on my very own yacht. I will wake up⊠make coffee coffee âïž and throw out a line. đ Canât wait! Thank you again for the inspiration. â„ïžđ
So exciting!! đđâïž
Love these, makes it seem like one day i could do it to
Yesss đđđ
I had pocket doors in my first home in the 70s and also that little bar was common in cabinets in the 70s here in New Zealand and we're renowned for being 10-20yrs behind the rest of the world lol
Sliding doors were found in Roman houses as early as the first century CE, according to archeological sites in ancient Pompeii
Beautiful boat. Great live-aboard potential. Love these older boats.
We agree!
No one does the presentations like you two..Impressive boat. Thank you.. loved the cute out takes. Be safe.
Glad you enjoyed!
Love these older boats.
Us too!
Love when you do the live aboard yachts!
More to come!
Nice to see some older boats!
More to come!
Love the wood
đđ
The Oxford English Dictionary says a 1955 New York Times article is the first time these doors were referred to as âpocket doorâ
I'd call this boat a Woody. Remember the woody station wagons from the 50s-60s? Ok I'm seasoned LOL.... Hey y'all missed that hand held horn that was on the inside helm LOL. Another great tour Thank You!!

Good video!
Thanks for sharing!
A single person could definitely be comfy on this boat. A couple might find it a little cozy. If you live in FL or SoCal, you have the use of the aft cockpit mostly year around, but in a more temperate climate, you'd only really have the saloon and aft stateroom.
Wow, what a great boat. It would make a good Great Lakes cruiser.
Great idea!!
Been a subscriber for a long time. Keep watching love how friendly the videoâs are and the chat between you. I live in the UK
Thanks for watching Michael!
Big effort on the upkeep, but the battle becomes more difficult as the old girl ages, rest dear lady of the sea, you served us well.
Grew up my dad owned 20slip marina in Milwaukee River in third ward blocks away from Summerfest. He had a 1969 Richardson all aluminum plank 45 footer with rear Aft deck and rear owners cabin with two-gray marines that powered it was pretty cool was pretty clean vessel
Oh and it had a pocket door also LOL
Nice!! Thanks for sharing!! đđ»đâïž

Nice boat and not a bad price! Lived on a 48 ft Chris Craft Connie for 5 years, and pretty sure this one has more sq ft of living space. Would make a comfortable liveabord. I'm looking at something at least twice as big though, need to be able to cross the big pond đș
