Son Struggles To Keep Lawn Mowed After Mother Dies

- In this video, you will see me helping a random neighbor get his tall lawn grass mowed and back into shape. The son who is now the homeowner, due to his mother's passing, has been struggling to keep his tall grass maintained. Is the son lazy or is the son going through an emotional state? I personally do not know and neither do you but you make that determination and hold on to it.
WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
Every Monday, I take the opportunity to drive around my neighborhood and find a property that needs desperate attention. I do not know of who lives at these properties, nor the conditions of the individuals. Some homeowners struggle at keeping up with their lawns, especially when health conditions arise. Our goal is to be that blessing that swoops in and helps out those in need. Have you been a blessing to someone recently?

We shouldn't judge. Poor guy lost his mom that's something that hits hard. Many factors come to play depression, money loss, not having the equipment to do it himself. Hope the guy gets emotional help on his hard times. You did an amazing job, many blessings.

We never know what another person is going through. For many of us when our parents are elderly we too are getting up there in age with health issues. You can be proud of not only a job well done but of taking some of the burden off a persons shoulders. Not to mention making the neighbors extremely happy. Great video!
Last week I found out my 88 year old neighbor got a notice from Code Compliance for a live oak tree overgrowing the sidewalk. I found out when I saw his 60-ish daughter pruning it with ordinary pruning shears. I brought over a yard waste can, loppers, chainsaw, and helped her. But I would never have known of a Code Compliance issue if I hadn’t seen her with pruning shears. Sometimes you just can’t know.
If I was the neighbour I'd keep the front cut at the very least. I'd just be getting annoyed by the mess.

Thank you. We were fixing up a house in Nashville. This was going to be our retirement home. When it was done, he moved in. Never saw it coming. After a year, still trying to get things on track. I learned a lot by taking care of our house in NY. I am struggling with our 22 year old lawn tractor! I taught myself to change the oil etc but now I need to learn how to replace the blades. I have learned electrical skills, plumbing skills and fixed my gutters. I am very pleased that I am taking care of my home. No one will ever get me down, ever again. 🥰😊🥰

One could never tell what the mindset is into leaving a property get so bad. However, I always say we shouldn't judge until we walked a mile in thier shoes. But, I think you are doing a great thing here. Helping out neighbors and making it look amazing.

I can relate it's happened to me on several occasions cuz I wasn't well heart condition and people always promising to come over and mow and never shows up plus never have the money to pay for help so I understand..

You certainly brought back the curb appeal for this home. Strange to see 2 properties with such different care. The son had watering happening where the one neighbour did not. The other neighbour almost looks like astroturf it's so short & manicured. Great job and I am sure that the son will be grateful. I don't think he's lazy - just overwhelmed.

Hi. Fill, nice job. Fill im 82 yrs.old woman I've only one son who died 3 years ago. I missed him so much, so I'm happy whenever I saw you doing nice job, I said to myself I hope he still alive today, when he passed away he is 42 yrs old. Take care Fill.
Maybe this will inspire the neighbor to get out there again and take pride in his nice property. A lot of his grass looks dead and I don't think his mom would want that. Who knows. So nice of you to lend a helping hand! Nice job!

What I find most satisfying - besides your total awesomeness - is the shoveling that follows the edging on the sidewalk. Call me crazy....
Catherine, you are not crazy. He has mastered the edging and knows the importance of lawn appearance when it's done right. Actually this is the first time I saw it done first. Many times guys cut the grass and then come back and edge. Call ME crazy cause I always wonder if a neighbor ever asks for his name and contact info, so they can advise the Homeowner who did such a nice deed!

One thing I’ve Learned helping others always makes you feel good. That alone is worth the trouble. I lost my dad a month ago it still dos t seem real that I can’t see him anymore. As long as I can remember I’ve seen him about every day I’m 58. But your kind deed will help him. Probably Moore than you will ever know.

I think there are probably more neighbors than you'd guess that would prefer to go fix an ugly yard situation, but are reluctant due to reactions/liability/trespassing.

I was contemplating a Toro Timemaster for my lawncare business and after seeing this video I decided to pick one up. I have three customers that like to be mowed only every 10 to 14 days with lots of tight spaces and gates. I needed something that can hack through some thick grass!
Yeah the timemaster is a great mower. I use it commercialy. Have had some issues with it but what mower doesn't have issues? Glad to help you make that decision 👍🏼

The edges by the sidewalk are not bad at all compared to the height of the grass. If that was Southern St. Augustine, the runners would be a foot over the sidewalk. Nice job and hopefully the owner will appreciate it!!

Yeah I have both. The only reason I like the res is because it's much lighter than commercial one. Only reason I like commercial is fuel tank size. Toro needs to make a commercial Timemaster

I can't even say how many of these video's I watch. I know that everyone does the best job that they can and help so many people in need. I have decided that you are my favorite. You pay so much attention to detail. This was another amazing job! I hope the owner appreciates what you did for him. I used to do all of my own mowing and trimming and loved my yard looking so nice. I injured my back at work and had to retire. I suddenly found myself walking with a cane and in no shape to do much of anything in my yard. I did plant a few flowers for my front porch this year. They are my pride and joy. My son helps to mow every other week but so much more needs to be done. Clover is taking over! I am working on getting that taken care of. I wish that I could subscribe to your channel every day but that isn't possible. You keep making these and I will keep watching, liking and commenting. You live up to your shirt's message. Most times it's just so easy to be a good person good neighbor. It wouldn't hurt him to take his lawnmower and do this little bit for a man who just can't at the moment. Losing someone so close brings depression in unexpected waves. He doesn't/didn't have to be a completely ridiculous person. Hope this man is doing ok my heart goes out to him.

Always makes me wonder why the neighbors that know there is no one living in the home, don't take turns to keep it cut. After all it does effect their own community.

Great job. 4 or 5 years is a long time to hold onto a house no one lives in. It appears he does occasionally look after things but I always wonder why, when the neighbours are cutting their own grass, why can’t they go the extra bit and help out with the yard in the middle.
