Fabian Ruiz is underappreciated. He’s been very clutch for Spain with 4 g/a’s in 3 games and should be the contender for player of the tournament. Everyone else will grab the headlines, but Fabian has been equally as crucial for his country.

Spain are absolutely the real deal right now and while the EUROs it’s so open, they’re genuine contenders to go all the way and win this tournament despite having to play against Germany a strong team in the quarterfinals and this is gonna be an impressive match up between 2 of the best teams of the tournament so far who if they were in a different bracket they would meet each other in the final. Even after they conceded that unfortunate own goal, we all knew that there was only going to be one winner. Georgia deserve credit for how far they’ve gotten in their first ever major tournament and they managed to get out of their group by beating Portugal and they should be proud of themselves for getting to the RD of 16, the reality is that Spain right now are just too strong and they’re going to be a difficult team to beat especially when you have almost everyone in top form and this bodes well for any team and manager.
They took care of business as they’re supposed to do and ended up winning the game convincing because yes they had issues breaking down their deep defensive line and they were taking a lot of shots from outside the box, once they found a way, they were so comfortable and they made things look so easy. Watching this team, they’re literally the complete opposite of England who rely on individual brilliance and extra time to be beating teams they should be winning against easily and obviously it’s a major tournament and winning games is the most important thing, the difference between the 2 teams is that Spain are much more dangerous and lethal and they have so many different ways to punish teams and they’re gonna take some beating. Their playing style is no longer reliant on dominating possession and Tiki Taka football as they now boast wingers who are exciting and skillful even though when they play opposition like Georgia you expect them to have the ball and try to create chances while the other team defends for majority of the game and find their opportunities to hit you on the counter attack and they tried to do that even though it didn’t work. They’re playing against a strong team in the next round and the matchup between Spain and Germany will be the game of the tournament and whoever wins that game likely wins the EUROs unless I’m wrong.

Tika taka can still work, it just can't work if the pace is not very fast and there isn't always someone able to hit the goal post very hard consistently! Spain's defensive vulnerability as shown from Georgia early in the game and lack of finishing strikers has always been Spain's biggest problem since 2013!!

The problem with Spain is that, in the few occasions the opposing team crosses the midfield with the ball under control, it always fells like a goal chance. The defense is suspicious at best and the GK is a ticking-bomb.
Good thing is that the German defense is equally poor.
They are easy to beat on the press. I see through their whole plan. They anit going to high press team with better starts like France or Germany. Germany is winning that midfield battle. Yamal have one move and that is to cut on the inside and cross or play the 1, 2. Their midfield is not good. The game will be fixed behind the doors. Spain will be forced to deliberately lose. They just have to bow down in front of UEFA demands.

Pedri wasn’t at his best today. But man, the guy is a genius. Iniesta-like.
He will not be at his best as long as he plays that high up. He’s a controller, not a 10. He needs to play the way he played in the last Euro: deeper. Limiting a player like Pedri with such an high IQ and vision, and composure on the ball is a crime. He should switch position with Fabian Ruiz since Ruiz obviously wants to shoot more. Pedri could control the midfield better.

@@bluebagel8084 Where was Iniesta at Pedri’s age? If injuries hadn’t negatively impacted Pedri’s development, he would have been on another level with his potential and talent. Pedri is the player closest to Iniesta’s style in this new generation.

This kid has made a better impact to the game than Ronaldo and Messi at the age of 16 easily, imagine when he learns to put the ball in the back of the net like Messi did. We’re watching the next best thing ! Mark my words he’ll outshine Vini, mbappe, Kane in the next two seasons.
