Im a Brit, born in '83. I grew up watching the Prem and Serie A, to see how far Italy and Serie A has fallen is heartbreaking. How have you gone from Baggio and Del Piero to Scamacca? People used to laugh and say Inzaghi was rubbish, compare him to what you have now... You've gone from Mancini, Conte and Pirlo to nobodies... Its crazy, its like Italy was replaced by some other country...

Xhaka made right choice to leave Arsenal for himself but if we had managed to sell Partey last season and kept Xhaka for another? Arteta had Havertz in mind but that really wasn't great. Hindsight but league maybe won with Rice and Xhaka and Havertz up front. All played nearly every game last season.

The managerial suspensions have been ridiculous at the Copa America. The decisions are unappealable, interestingly there's footage of Bielsa and Uruguay coming out to the pitch at Half Time at the same time as Bolivia. Meanwhile the tournament is being played in stadiums and fields that don't meet CONMEBOL's own regulations that are so meticulously being enforced. Having both continental tournaments going on at once, you can glance at the Euros for a moment and realize just how embarrassingly managed and organized everything around this Copa America has been.

They failed because Jorginho failed twice to convert a penalty in subsequent games vs Switzerland and then they failed to convert after 30 shots, 14 on net vs Macedonia, but why was Macedonia's hand ball goal allowed to stand? Why was VAR not used. 37 game winning streak pre and post Euro victory. All of that, confirmation bias, is needed to be ignored to go with your narrative. This round, Spalletti lines them up completely wrong. We lost to a Switzerland playing our style. Hilarious. Yakin the Swiss coach said this:
Q: did you expect that it could be such a dominant Swiss team?
A: yeah, it's not surprising that their team changed a lot - and we've been observing that - and they were searching for their own identity. not for nothing, they brought in 3 or 4 new players again, again a new system. I expected everything, but not that they play 4 at back. I knew that if they play 4 at back, then we'll destroy them. we knew we'll flatten them. if they play 4 at back, then we'll let them run and that's what happened.
Yakin believes Italy's revised setup played into the hands of his team on Saturday, telling SRF: "It's unbelievable what's going on here. We've enjoyed ourselves in every stadium. Big praise to the fans.
"I knew if the Italians came with a back four, we would destroy them. Then we would let them run.
"Dan [Ndoye] closed down the midfield. His man, [Stephan] El Shaarawy, hardly saw the ball."
If everyone else could see it and Spalletti could not, then he is not fit for the job. If Spalletti could see it and refused to adjust, then he is not fit for the job. Either way, he is not fit for the job and should not only QUIT NOW, but leave Italy.

Di Lorenzo culprit on 4 goals. Was owned by Spain. Ball watched Modric. Chiesa had to come back to cover for him vs Switzerland. All goals came from the right side, except the one Dimarco assisted for Albania. It's not a coincidence. Spalletti punished the hero's (sat Zaccagni) and rewarded losers (SES and Di Lorenzo) and played a dog sh!t formation. He had a good shape vs Croatia, and needed to stick to that shape with DI LORENZO OUT. Why Mancini and not Buongiorno who is 100% more mobile? A back line of Buongiorno, Bastoni and Darmian could shut down Switzerland because it would have no space. Cambiaso is a hard worker and would track back defensively. Zaccagni the same on the other side. In the middle plenty of space for Fagioli, Jorginho and Barella. It has work rate and possession capabilities. Chiesa could roam up front with Scammaca or Retegui.
Spalletti lined them up for failure and Yakin knew it:
      Yakin said this about him:
