They do acknowledge in the rulebook that Koalas aren't bears. " Although koalas are not really bears, people like koalas, so we will be including them in our park!"
The German rules go as far as to claim "everybody likes koalas". They obviously have not watched this review.

Great stuff, cracking review Paul. Really pleased to hear it directly compared to Patchwork, those like-for-like comparisons have always been one of the hallmarks of the SU&SD review formats from the ye olde days. Glad to see it alive.

Great review Paul! I played this once at a local shop and liked it very much. I have several tile laying games in the gateway category already but this one, much like in Goldilocks, may be just right. My partner and I didn't much like Patchwork, but we both really enjoyed Barenpark! Plus all the pieces ACTUALLY FIT TOGETHER. Thanks again Paul! Bye!

Koalas are simply unbearable.
Paul's rant is actually on point: koalas DON'T belong in a bear park. Grizzly bears, polar bears, and pandas are all more closely related to skunks, seals, and dogs than they are to koalas, just as koalas are more closely related to wombats, kangaroos, and possums than they are to bears!

paul here says "you'll want to" expand your park to fit more stuff, but he didn't mention you MUST expand your park since you have to cover all 4 tiles to end the game and it's very hard to not place tiles on the spot that expands the park

I am very sorry, but the toilet champion game of all time is surely Klaus Teubers Drunter&Drüber/Wacky Wacky West from 1991 which has almost 20 toilets, AND they are also clearly stated in the rulebook to be the most relevant buildings of all!

Cottage Garden seems like a better spiritual expansion of Patchwork to 4 players to me. I mean, it doesn't have buttons, but it has *kittens*! I wonder if SU&SD has had a chance to check it out?

So this guy is in charge of the tile placement games department.
I can bearly believe how good this game is. It's unbearable. Pure pandamonium. It's just a polar opposite of a bad game. This is a game for the game cub-by .ok that last one was just embearassing. I'm really scraping the bottom of the bearell at this point.
