- Kara Gentry has always had everything money can buy. Jessie Wilkins is from the other side of the tracks. When seated next to each other on a plane headed home for Christmas, these two teenage girls strike up an unlikely friendship. They soon find they’re both being forced to spend the holidays in the same small town with relatives they've never met. Neither girl is happy about their holiday arrangements so they devise a plan to switch places for Christmas. Jessie finds herself living lavishly with Kara's wealthy grandparents. Kara finds herself with Jessie’s fun, quirky grandmother and the most genuine, modest family she’s ever met. With a little help from Santa and a Christmas wish, Kara and Jessie find the families they've always wanted and discover an even bigger surprise they never expected.

I just watched the whole trailer and there were no "traps" that I could tell...
Good thing the first time I was watching the trailer I stopped it as soon as it got interesting enough to give it a try. I probably wouldn't have watched the film had I watched the trailer till the end then as it basically reveals the plot till the very end of the movie. Though, on the other hand, it might have been for the better as it has turned out to be pretty mediocre at best.

well, they aren't, but not quite strangers either. There's a plot twist related to this aspect in the end of the film.
Please if you're going to make the only poc, especially black character in your movie a maid, just don't have any poc's in the movie at all.
They should have cast one of the girls as Black to be more diverse.
Glad to see Christian Kane, loved him on Angel, Leverage and The Librarian. But didn't even recognize Bo Derek, she's had way too much work done and doesn't look like her at all. It a shame that some women won't let themselves age gracefully without all the plastic added to their faces.

If you're not sure whether to watch the film or not then I'd say, you'd better not. It's mediocre at best. There are hundeads of better Christmas-themed movies so you'd better choose something among them.
A bunch of second rate, untalented actors nervously reciting their lines under the guidance of probably the worse director in the US!!! Appalling!!! And the story, which could have been fairly good, fell flat on its face and should have been left on the cutting room floor! Don't waste your time.
