    I have the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak since May 2022 and was with her already on the North Cape. Am now 9500 km with her driven and am still in love as on the first day in this bike! It is the best bike I ever had.

      Yeah, my V4s got to 9000 miles before it was killed by an idiot on the bay bridge, and I loved every mile. Will love exploring california back roads on this beast.

    I have ordered a v4 Rally and I plan on doing very light Off-road. I was more excited for the larger fuel tank and enhanced pillion area! Great Video!

    • @matjam6660
      @matjam6660  Před rokem

      Yeah, the larger fuel tank is worth it; I did a long ride (700 miles, Vegas to the Bay Area) in a day and I had to stop a lot and really be careful of my fuel choices along Hwy 1. But then, I had to stop a lot anyway just to give my butt a rest lol.

    Ton témoignage change de tout ce que j'ai visionné sur la Pike Peak, cela me ressemble assez sur ton approche de la vidéo sur CZcams réalisée par des personnes de tous les jours qui souhaitent juste partager leur passion. Motard depuis 40 ans, je m'apprête aussi à prendre pour compagne de route une Pike Peak V4 2023. Actuellement sur une BMW GS 1250 HP Pack Billet 2020 dont je n'ai aucun reproche à faire au bout de 30000 km parcourus avec, j'exposerai les raisons de mon choix de passer sur une V4 Pike Peak. (J'ai eu + de 25 motos dans ma vie de motard, autant dire que j'ai eu entre les jambes tous les types de moto) J'adore ta joie et ton engouement contenu dans ta vidéo, tu meurs d'envie de dire : WHOUAAA !!! Cette bécane m'a mis une banane d'enfer après 200 miles parcourus avec ! Mais tu retiens ta joie ! 😄😁😂

    I concur with most of your feedback. I’ve had my 2022 PP for about a year and just hit 5K miles. This is truly one of the best all round motorcycles I have ever owned or ridden. As you said, I have no trouble keeping up with sport bikes on the road and plan to do some C group track days with it. I did somewhat by mistake take this on a dirt road last season and had to ride very gingerly for 15 miles as the sport tires and 17” front wheel are not at home on dirt needless to say. It was on that ride that I decided that in order to continue riding dirt roads I would need a Desert X which I am also now the proud owner of with 800 miles. With these two bikes in my stable I now feel about as complete as someone can with two motorcycles (leaving my 99 996 out of the conversation). My one recommendation to you would be once you wear out the Pirelli’s, change them out for a set of Michelin Power 5’s!!. If you’re enjoying this bike with the Pirelli’s you’re not going to believe how much better it will be with the Michelin’s. I was blown away.
    Enjoy your PP.

    I've got the 1260 Pikes Peak and it is so good. I also own a Streetfighter V4S, a Superduke 1290R and a ZX14R. My 1260 PP with the stock Ohlins forks and shock is BY FAR the most nimble, best handling bike I own. I would highly suggest anyone to find and buy a used 1260 Pikes Peak, will be the best motorcycle you've ever ridden. I can afford to go out and pay cash for a new V4 Pikes Peak but would never even consider it, since I have (IMO) a superior 1260. Cheers from the Mountains of San Diego!

    Nice feedback , inital assessment, i am looking to upgrade from my current sports tourer - tracer 9 gt, i like the sportiness and the pikes peak feels like a good fit given its 17inch wheels and awseome engine , hopefully will be able to afford it next year - or if ducati listen to you then - maybe they put the 17inc back on the v4 s , i have had the diagel 1260 s , so yes the multi with that engine is a good alternative - thanks for suggesting that

    Agreed. I live in the Bay Area too, and ride Hwy 9 Regularly. My Multi V4s is pretty had to beat, but I've noticed the Pike Peak turns a hair faster (when chasing one up 9). That being said, the v4s is pretty amazing, and a full-on weapon in the right hands. My next bike will most likely be a Pikes Peak too.... Great review!

    Worth the upgrade? Would doubt very much whither this guy, or many, would be able to take the standard V4S to it's limits on the road.

    The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is as much fun with less fuel consumption.Though I must say that the Multistradas fits like an Italian suit made to measure.

    Good video on your thoughts on the PP. New sub, all the best with the channel.
    I took delivery of my V4S a month ago on 26th November. Completed 800 kms and extremely happy with her. Upgraded from the Triumph Street Triple RS.
    Since you have used the V4S also maybe you could make a comparison video between the two, differences between them as such.
    I saw/sat on a PP and felt the handlebar to be lower, foot pegs a bit further behind and higher, the seat harder.
    I have seen a few videos where it is said the suspension is also not as plush on the PP as it is on the V4S.
    Elaborating on the the above things would be interesting to know.
    Ride safe!
    P.S. is that a Mustang in your garage 😊

    The PP is slated to be purchased later this year, looking forward to seeing how it will handle the miles. I ride about 18K a year. Say hi if you see a 2015 VFR with a top box at Alice’s

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts / opinions. Seems we have similar riding styles.. sprited, hooligan at heart, but with a bad back and a desire for not loosing your drivers license.... im on a Gen 2 XR current. Considering selling the XR and one of my kidneys for the new PPV4. Question to myself is..would I be loosing alot of touring comfort with the PP. I know ill be loosing a couple amenities however think I can live W|O those.
    You mentioned you'll mainly use this as a weekend tool. How is the touring aspect, I im 2 hrs away from the really good roads and at the end of the day im exhausted and not looking forward to the 2 hr slab ride home, just want to be on a cloud or at least a LaZboy for those last 2 hrs... the XR and my R1250GSA delivers on that. Wondering if the PP with the Ohlins can be comparable? Had a 2013 PP with skyhook and that was pretty plush in Urban mode for a sore body...but I've read that Skyhook does a better job at being plush compared to Ohlins, is this the case? Also do you have a long term review on reliability of the bike from A-Z, never owned a Ducati post Audi infusion.. so I'm curious with that as well.. heard after the Audi merge the Duc reliability trended to the positive side?
    Sorry for the winded questions but damn this thing is expensive and 19" wheels is not an option been there done that with the GS. Guess what I'm after is a love child of the GS and XR....lol. will be test riding this weekend but as you know a 30 min ride is not enough to explore all

    • @matjam6660
      @matjam6660  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Working backwards;
      - No complaints with Ducati reliability owning 4 of them over the past 8 years. The only time I've had any fail is when they've been injured through my, or another's, negligence.
      - I configured "touring" mode with "softest" suspension for the Ohlins front and back and have no complaints for long rides. I've done a couple of all day back to back rides on it and I would have no second thoughts doing a 600+ mile day on this bike. Zero complaints with comfort - though the bars are a little aggressive and I might want a riser just for comfort on a longer ride. We'll see - so far no issues!
      Its really just amazing how different the bike feels with the different settings. Softest settings and it just eats all the bumps. Hardest settings and it feels almost like the panigale in terms of how well I can read the road with my hands & body.
      Sell the kidney, who needs two. You'll not be disappointed.

    • @lennykibbs260
      @lennykibbs260 Před 11 měsíci

      @matjam6660 lol!! Awesome!!! I just got back from the test ride.... I concur with everything you stated in re: to comfort. When we went through the settings I put the suspension in soft under Tour mode... yeah short ride but I made sure I went through some rough highway and felt fine.. plush and in control for sudden highway maneuvers.. Sport mode..im sold - it does act like a GS and XR love child in all aspects, (in my opinion) thing loves to rev .. lifts the front when stabbing the throttle up to 3rd gear and I believe the default wheelie control was on 3? So overall not far from the XR yes a little heavier but really no relevance when in motion , the PP feels like a well insulated machine as the XR feels like a hollow tin can in comparison. Only thing I didn't like was the shift throw is much longer and the clutch friction zone was at the very end of the lever travel.... so I will be U-tubing a how to kidney and preservation video today, to bad we only have 1 liver
      Forgot to mention- I noticed the bike doesn't have a steering damper, did you ever feel the front end go into a slapper or wobble at hi speed..oh and lastly, heat any noticeable heat buildup on the legs or butt during slow moving traffic, like city/town speeds or traffic jams?

      My 2023 v4 pp as of today clocked 5.6k Miles. So far no issues. Changed oil myself at 4.5k but not risking warranty. I drive 120 miles approx for service. I dedicate a weekend ride for the service. Full transparency, have a bmw s1000rr but prefer v4 pp for rides above 100 miles.

      the V4 Tuono is an amazing bike too. It would be a tough call - if that bike suits you I'd lean on sticking with it unless you're looking for something a bit more comfortable that can still go like a rocket ship. I'd let your back decide 🙂

    Following you and rembo getting the low down on the PP as I have A v4s and pp on order but have a panigale for fast riding so edging on keeping the v4s

    • @matjam6660
      @matjam6660  Před rokem

      Really depends how many track days you do I think. Or, you know, if you just love the Panigale for its looks 🙂It's not the best bike for the street now, even the 1199s was way too much and while it was a blast to ride I am just as fast on the street on the PP and am way more comfortable.
      It's such a subjective thing; everyone's situation is different and if I had a Panigale and my back was functional still then I'd be probably quite happy with the v4s. But my back is not perfect anymore, so for me, it's totally worth it 🙂
      I live in California, bay area. Grew up in rural vic/nsw, lived in Sydney for a few years but have mostly been overseas for most of my adult life.

    open the video and shut it straight away, i prefer not to listen a review from a guy who puts top box to a pikes peak. buying a ferrari and trying to use it for delivery services or worst trying to pull caravan with it, i rode them back to back v4 pikes peak is much superios bike then v4s. At least its a proper road bike, v4s is hybird you cant really do too much off road and not as great on road like a pikes peak. end off.
