Good job. I’ve got 2 of the Firefly LP shaped objects. I just use the stock pickups through good tube amps. I’ve got a friend who is line 6 all the way, and sounds great live, but for some reason this didn’t sound great through the CZcamss. Nice playing.

No offense... But out of morbid curiosity: Have purchased (6x) Ch(G)ibson + (1x) Ch(F)ender GTRs here in 2024. Amazed regarding the overall fit & finish of the instruments. Only one GTR was set-up properly (zero work required). The other units all required (4-6) hours of frustrating neck work (scraping fret boards + fret polishing + neck truss adjustments + fret leveling). That doesn't include eventual re-stringing with new D'Addarios + intonation, etc.... However, if you are able to perform this work, the rewards are surprisingly excellent. The key of success is neck work. Pick-ups are a matter of taste + your pre-amp/amp combinations, so not important in this discussion. Comment: I know so many players who swap perfectly high quality pick-ups on great Gibsons and Fenders, so that should not be a topic of concern for most all at this time... Haa - we have all been there...! Also - I do own my share of (6x) Gibsons and (5x) Fender products (and 4x Martins)..., so I believe I am able to pass down an honest commentary for your consideration. Thank you
out of the box a chibson is not as good as a gibson , but for as little as 200 bucks if you do the work yourself, or 500-800 if someone else does it , it can be as good and sound as good ..
I just bought a brand new Epiphone Les Paul faded recently and it is a great guitar for $400 much better than a Chibson and there is no need to change parts or electronics. Still Epiphone is not anywhere close to a real Gibson and neither are Chibsons. I ordeded a Chibson a couple of years ago and just like yours there are spots with wood filler, poor routes, etc. mine has a wonky heel, paint runs, etc. terrible all around, these guitars are made out of basswood I believe. If it wasn't for the fake Gibson headstock these Chibsons would be in the $150-$200 price range just like other cheap Les Paul copies.
Cool! Good build platforms!! 🤘 I've got 3 real Gibson's 1983 pearl white custom 2011 black custom and a 2011 studio and 1 chibson! I play the studio and the chibson the customs are to expensive to play! Cars I've had many collectables over the years! 😊
I'm guessing these builders work/worked for Epiphone probably. I'm sure they make more selling these than they made for an Epiphone. Considering the costs and markup for an Epiphone. Lots of middle men to get an Epiphone in your hands.
I will tell you one thing... the Chinese copies have better QC than Gibson has had for YEARS. I am so sick of people claiming how good Gibsons are, when in fact they are NOT all that good. And I have several of them, and only the past few years have come to realize that the only reason people buy Gibsons now is the name. Its not built quality, its not "tone wood"... maybe its the pickups, but those don't justify a 3000+ guitar.
@@DevinMeister I would put the build quality and finish quality (especially the body finish and the fret work) of a GOOD chibson against a real chibson any day. Make all the claims you want, I have several of both and have been able to compare them closely. Well at least the Gibson is real. And if the chibson was such a great guitar the copiers would put their name on it and sell it as a brand. Instead the copiers steal a good name and claim it’s the brand.
@@DevinMeister No. No, it's not. Hell, the Epiphone Bonamassa I have had a better finish, better fretboard, better frets... came out of the box set up better...
I seriously don’t know what to say about these chipson’s. There are so many great reviews. Gotta change all the hardware and electronics. Even then they are still much cheaper. Gibson must be taking a hammering. Are Gibson really overpriced or is it just their manufacturing costs that are too high. I don’t know. Just asking. Cheers from South Africa.
Please do not endorse Chibson's. They are probably good guitars - some of them as you said - but the real problem is when they are sold 2:nd hand and a kid buy's a Chibson thinking it is the real deal. Everybody say's, "I ain't gonna sell mine" but some of the buyers do. If you do buy a Chibson, because some of them might be great, please grind the Gibson logo away. Just to make sure no kid with high hopes buy a fake Gibson.
Where did you buy it? Which website? Which seller? It sounds great. I can’t afford Gibsons these days but I can afford the price you said this one cost.
wrong, they aren't just as good if they have better parts on them. The entire build, fitting, and finish is cheaply done on knockoffs. For one, the neck joint at the heel is intentionally shortened to save on time and cost, making it less stable than an actual LP. Cheap construction and materials also mean that alignment issues will develop over time with temperature changes. This will eventually cause warping, buzzing and intonation issues. What do you expect for 250bucks, magic?
Shit. I appreciate your channel and honesty but I can't believe that you believe that's a Gibson Les Paul reject. Even a demolished crushed Les Paul with no hardware would be 5 times the price of this. It tells me the Chinese have figured it out now. Gladly.
Chinese knockoffs is like a woman wearing falsies or a man having a sock in his pants eventually people find out. With the way companies are offering budget prices , why would you want Les Paul when it’s a fake. Take all the money and time improving that instead buy a used Les Paul . When you sell it are you going to disclose it’s a fake. Personally I would mark that guitar as clone so down the road someone won’t be ripped off. . Just not cool
no, it tells gibson that they need to get their shit together with their quality control and gives those of us without gibson-friendly budgets an option.
@@AdrianMihaescu Right now in today's world the ONLY thing you get buying a Gibson, is the name. The quality, sound, wood and construction is simply not worth the premium. That Stratocaster is actually the signature Richie Sembora model.
How hard can it be to get the knob spacing correct, is this on purpose?
It's done on purpose, making small changes in various areas avoids the guitar being labeled "counterfeit ".
