I think she is probably going to go live with her dad! After what she found out about her mom. But then I’m also like nah she not going to do that because if she does her dad might tell her mom that she is there.

@@lauramenendez3212 and people expecting ginny to not act out on the trauma shes grown up with (which is the direct cause of her moms secrecy and relationships with men)is annoying. i get that her mom is tryna do what is seemingly best for her but being candid with her daughter might just get ginny out trouble more than she thinks. ginny doesnt trust her moms opinion but if georgia just told the truth, her daughter would be able to understand where shes coming from alot more

I'm pretty sure she doesn't know he has a crush on her. It's kind of weird to say someone's too good for you and you don't deserve their love when SHE DOESN"T EVEN KNOW HE'S IN LOVER WITH HER! What logic is that. I love Joe, but how can you blame Georgia for not returning his feelings when she 1. didn't know who he was 2. didn't know he was in love with her 3. already in a committed relationship with Paul. I am glad to see that everyone thinks that Joe was amazing.
I felt sad when he got upset once he found out that Georgia was engaged to Paul.
The fact that she only decided to sit w the black kids after her falling out w 'mang', pisses me off. Bracia has literally tried talking to her from the first day but Ginny was clearly not open to it kmt . She literally uses the fact that she's mixed and discriminated against on numerous occasions, expecting the yt folks to be woke enough for that conversation, when u literally have ppl that could relate to ur experience right there smfh

-They let Ginny take the fall for shoplifting
-They pitied Ginny when they messed her hair at the sleepover thing
-Norah and her mom exposed them because they had a gun in their house
-The one girl literally slapped her, and Ginny just laughed it off
-All of that mess at the end. Where Max blamed her, and Abbey(?) literally blamed Ginny too. Like what
I literally hated the MAN in MANG. Like they were not good friends
yesss they were so mean but everything they did just kept getting overlooked

-Abby posted a video of Ginny when she was drunk
-Maxine was way to dramatic when she found out Ginny and her twin brother have a thing going on
ALSO I SWEAR NORAH LITERALLY DOES NOTHING AND JUST STANDS THERE THE WHOLE TIME. SHE HAS NO PERSONALITY AND IS MY LEAST FAVORITE OF ABBY, NORAH, AND MAX.

I felt SO BAD for the redhead girl, can’t remember her name. She was struggling and self harming during the whole season without anybody noticing, and when she finally opened up, Ginny made it all about herself again. I’d like to see where her storyline were going
yess i agree!! but it was also really messed up when she made ginny shoplift (not saying that justify’s ginny’s actions but still)

also i don’t like how little marcus’s storyline was developed. he talks about how his friend died last year and throughout the season no one supports him? or asks him if he’s okay? they just write him off as a lazy stoner who can’t commit and doesn’t even care that he lost someone who meant a lot to him? like what? maybe that’s why he has commitment issues: he’s afraid the people that he loves will leave him, like when his best friend passed. no one supports him, especially maxiene. like there are some scenes where marcus looks out for her, but NONE where she gives a crap about what marcus is going through. that annoyed me a lot.

agreeee i was honestly surprised no one paid more attention to his motorcycle accident like it might be a sign of him relapsing cause his best friend only died about a year ago which is not that long at all. also, the scene where sophie noticed marcus was upset and asked him about it before maxine even cared like ?!?!? that says something
yeah it was like they bypassed how Marcus' friend died, like it didn't happen at all. And everybody's all like "Marcus is an a-hole who will break your heart" but like...who could sense that Ginny wasn't okay before Max did? Who was so kind to Austin and his cousin while they were babysitting? Who took care of Max when she was drunk? Who was signing the Sing Sing play to his dad the whole time? Like for an a-hole he actually cares a lot. And sure he may have broke Padma's heart, but if she didn't know that he wasn't about committed relationships, then she shouldn't be overeating about how Marcus breaks it off with her in the end, especially since he couldn't control his emotions towards Ginny. I don't know, I ranted a lot and I may have a Marcus bias, but there really was no trace of a "badboy" in him. Like would it really be that wrong to be with Marcus, a guy who has his share of struggles but can be really caring without anyone asking him to be? There should have been more justice for Marcus.

I wish they would talk about Abby having clear body issue's and it going through mental problems I mean sis taped her thighs. I think Ginny leaving will send Marcus into a depression and Georgia will go a little crazy knowing her kids are gone and ginny kid of kidnapped her brother. But I just hope they give Marcus a real storyline and not just make him a lazy stoner. They need to talk more about his dead friend.

can we talk about how good the casting was??? high schoolers actually looked like high schoolers(with few exceptions), and the younger versions of people actually look like the older version.
I love the fact that Georgia’s actress is literally the same age as her in real life LOL! (Well pretty much, Georgia is 30, her actress is 31).
The actress who played Ginny is really pretty and a very good actress. HOWEVER, the character Ginny is annoying and sometimes quite obnoxious.

I loved the show too, I just didn’t like how the show tried to be so Gen Z and relatable it was annoying and it made everything awkward. That’s just how I felt.

The writers bias was so clear with who was supposed to 'win' the love triangle. They barely gave Hunter any back story or personality outside of Ginny. Also its kind weird to give the white guy all the backstory and then the half Asian guy is just love interest. Its cheap and lazy af. I hope he gets am actual storyline next season. Its clear Ginny favors Marcus anyway so the writers might as well flesh out his character because that's called good writing something Netflix needs to learn about.
Yeah, it also felt like their intention was to make sure you liked Georgia, the white mother, over Ginny her biracial daughter 🤔.

So yea it was like a wtf thing, but Padma was aware of the type of relationship it was and she was okay with that until she left him for good. Also it was also his first time so yea, and in the show it shows that Marcus was like I didn't know what I was doing and I messed up. And Marcus telling ginny that to keep it on the DL was hella messed up but he did have character development and ended up apologizing and admitting things. I believe that Marcus genuinely loves Ginny. And I think that Hunter and Ginny as a romantic couple is very awkward and there isn't really chemistry between them but with Ginny and Marcus we see them having deep conversation and able to tell each other things that are hard to say. They aren't as awkward with each other and have chemistry unlike the duo of Hunter and Ginny. So yes Marcus has done messed up things but they all have and I personally see his character developing.

I honestly think anyone who doesn’t understand Ginny, hasn’t had a troubling/parental neglect/abuse situation. I see a lot of myself in her, she definitely isn’t likable, that’s the point. It’s hard to live IN trauma and with complex ptsd.

@@saanvik4898 Georgia never dealt with her trauma tho. When you sweep your trauma under the rug that can effect the way you raise your children. Georgia is a good person with good intentions but, bad execution sometimes. Bringing random men around your children and moving them constantly around is dysfunctional behavior. It seems like Ginny was Adultified as a child.

I understand Ginny, as I have been thrown in these situations for years but I learned that was never an excuse for my behavior. I remember always saying, “well maybe if my dad hadn’t done this” or “maybe if my mom hadn’t done that” but where that going to get you? There comes a time when you need to start taking accountability for yourself and she has yet to do that. Of course, this is all new to her and she’s learning so it’s a start. But hopefully things change next season and she grows up a little.

This show was really really good I finished it in like one day, Originally before I watched this I thought Georgia was going to be the one that I despised but that wasn’t the case lol Ginny irked me sooo much, y’all know how they say it’s a difference between mixed kids who have a white mom and a black dad vs a black mom and a white dad.....well she definitely proved that, she was such a hypocrite too her mom who literally did everything she could too make sure her kids were straight, and also criticized tf outta her but let her “friends” run her over like how can you stand up too your mom but not your so called friends

All this Ginny hate is lowkey surprising 😭 like I get the whole ungrateful and immature type personality but she’s not the only one and this is a coming of age type show so there’s always characters like that. Max is worse than her to be fair. She made Marcus’ and Ginny’s relationship about her. And if she would have just minded her business, all of that MANG drama wouldn’t have happened and it could have been handled better.

I mean, I wouldn’t care if my brother and best friend got together but it’s the fact that Ginny had been lying the entire time. Max definitely had her issues and didn’t handle the situation wisely, but she truly cared for Ginny and all Ginny did was lie to her face and go behind her back. If there really was no harm in what she was doing, she wouldn’t have snuck around. That’s why even Georgia asked if Max knew because it’s fucked up to go behind the only persons back who 100 percent considered her a friend. I think the main issue lies with Ginny breaking her trust, not just “oh she had sex with my brother”.
Plus, Ginny cheated on Hunter with Marcus and NEITHER party took his feelings into consideration because they’re selfish. I’d be pretty pissed too if I found out that’s who my brother and supposed “best friend” are.
Max was so self absorbed she always wanted to talk about what she wanted plus she was annoying and childish af
Wellllll but I also think Marcus was being a little creepy at first youknow just jumping and barging into someone’s house. Felt like a wattpad moment. Maybe ginny was tryna get over him by dating Hunter but marcus kinda kept coming back. Maybe if she admitted that she liked him before even dating hunter it would’ve made things easier b/w them, max and her friends too. I like how he cares about her though. No one took his issues seriously but what he did wasn’t perfectly cool either by calling it a mistake and all that but id love to see character development

I enjoyed watching it, but there were so many cringey and questionable scenes. I also hated how they never built up Ginny’s relationship with Marcus and Hunter. I agree that her relationship with Hunter was forced, and I hated how he sang the song for her like ??? Y’all been dating for like 3 episodes. And Marcus, he and Ginny had a long talk about whatever during the sophomore sleepover and then all of a sudden he thinks he loves her even though there wasn’t any emotional connection??

EXACTLY! I get that Ginny’s relationship with Hunter was meant to feel forced but they also really rushed it with Marcus. His “I love you” kinda felt like it came out of nowhere.

Also a lot of people hate on Marcus bc he said it was a mistake but he panicked clearly and he didn't know what Ginny was going to say I can't really blame him bc multiple times Ginny have expressed she liked Marcus and then turn around and change her mind.

Okay i'm just gonna say it. Marcus is a shitty character. People only like him for Ginny because he's the "attractive bad boy". Marcus is LITERALLY a homewrecker and got in the way of Ginny and Hunters relationship. Yes I know it goes both ways but seriously, Marcus is hella creepy. Who the hell climbs into a window of a girl you JUST met hours ago. Hunter loved Ginny and was a really good boyfriend, but no one talks about it because Hunter is not as attractive. Don't get me wrong, Hunter is def the cringiest character and his tap dancing and happy friday song was unusual but it came from the heart, and Ginny seemed to really like it. I'm obviously on #TeamHunter. He deserved better.

Everything you said was pretty much exactly how I felt. I also want to point out that hunter didn’t just agree with everything Ginny said, take the car scene for example, he called out the fact that Ginny needed to TALK to her family instead of just running away from it. Marcus meanwhile ALWAYS agreed with Ginny and never once disagreed or gave her an helpful alternative solution to her problem. I really don’t understand all the hate Hunter gets. He’s cringey as hell sure but besides that the dude was a genuinely good guy that was confident in himself. Maybe it’s just cause I can’t stand yes man people but I wouldn’t want a person I’m close to to not call out my bs. Sorry for the rant but I just despise all the hate he gets.

My theory about Austin’s dad: She probably did frame him for embezzlement and he may or may not be out. I think she was mad at them adding their exact return address because she didn’t want him to find her since it’s likely he knows he was framed by her. Also her name change prevents him from finding her, kinda like Jo on greys anatomy.

i feel like austin is going to do something drastic to paul as revenge towards georgia for forging the letters. the series revealed austin having unresolved anger issues, (he stabbed that kid w a pencil and he started acting violent when he was paired with his cousin, etc.) and he never received therapy but then again the season never talked or touched on this issue again. my theory is that austin brought georgia's gun she hid at the bottom of the closet with him to run away with ginny (but ginny didn't know) and somehow, paul is going to find ginny & austin and austin is going to threaten him to leave georgia and if he does then they'll come back home but if they don't then he'll shoot him and expose georgia and paul (adding onto your theory that paul's going to help georgia unpack some things). idk if this makes sense but i feel like austins anger issues are gonna become worse like to the point of murder in season 2 or if not that then coming close to it.

i get why people hate ginny, but to me it was so refreshing seeing a teenage character just reliably fucking up time after time. idk, maybe it worked for me because i bought how much she was trying to make the right choice, maybe i was just more of an idiot at 15 than i realize, but because of that i just can't hate her. i'm not sure if i LIKE her all that much, but also i get why she did a lot of the shitty things she did, and i just hope that in the next season she will eventually grow to be a better person.she IS very self centered, treats georgia badly and all that, but that's just what teenagers are like sometimes. at least me not so long ago and the ones i know/knew.

I didn’t hate Ginny, but there were moments I didn’t like her behavior. I understand she never had friends before, her parents were separated, she never knew about her mom’s family and her mom’s childhood and she didn’t like her mom’s behavior, but sometimes she was rude to her mother, Marcus and even Hunter. She wasn’t thinking her words are really hurting someone, she was a bit spoiled and she didn’t know how to act properly in some situations.

I liked the show (mostly Georgia’s story), I just hated how cliché and unlikeable all the teens were. The Marcus vs Hunter love triangle felt very wattpad
I think Ginny's criticisms are fair. Georgia is a bad parent, she has killed people, assaulted a child, lied to her own children (even when that put them at risk), she ignores her kids psychological problems and sleeps around despite how much that upsets her kids. That behaviour was certainly picked up by and eventually copied by Ginny, hence why she lies to her friends and cheats on her boyfriend.
