This game was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more violent than MK
It's not, but the gore is way more realistic, in MK it have always been cartoony gore.

I think this new MK has a chance to be more violent than this game, but that was a LONG time coming...
It was way ahead of its time for gore factor but the megadrive version was soo much better
Ohhh, this is that game that I always thought was super cool when I used to look up "fatalities" on youtube when I was like 11.
There is music, but it plays straight off the CD so you need the music files of the tracks in the same folder of if not in the disc image. Also there are passwords for most of the hidden characters, although most of them are reskins of existing characters and moves.
Only Thanatos and Senator are spriteswaps, and they have different moves than Xavier and Larcen

This is the issue with this game. The executions were amazing, but were way too precise to actually happen with any reliability. That's why, when me and my friends played, we had the 90% rule, which meant "on your second life, when you went down to 10%, you conceded, and chose your method of fatality," until we got to see every single one.
It was fun while it lasted, certainly a good rental.
I could see some kids being a little bitch playing this and not letting you do the Overkills/SD's by moving at the last second or lurking in the corner on certain stages

They should've put The_None's Giygas in the MUGEN games that Joel Played, instead of fhqwhgads7's version.
To be honest the fatalities in that Giygas make it much more terrifying then the source game.

This game's fatalities were, to me, far more visceral than most Mortal Kombat fatalities. Almost disturbingly well-drawn and animated. I'd almost argue they were more creative than MK, if only because Mortal Kombat's fatalities tend to ultimately have similar results (Person explodes in a rain of body parts or loses either their head/most of their body and falls down).
It's a shame the core fighting just didn't quite catch on.
