Thanks, I think your vids are great. I wouldn’t put pressure on myself to finish them in a certain time frame, take as long as you like. I find it not just enjoyable but also relaxing, watching the packs go by one by one. Cheers.
The two marquee cards from this set that collectors like are: the “Title Introduction Card” (card number #265) and another heroes type promotional photo card (number #328) titled “Champions of Freedom” which features Han, Leia, Luke and Chewie” (there’s no PSA 10 of this card yet). It’s hard to get any that are decently centered that have minimal surface issues. Hope you get a few nice ones of each out of this box. You got lucky with the amount of Title Introduction cards in these first 12 packs. Nice!
@@e-dubrippinstuff9820 Yes, seems like something is fishy. I know it’s a BBCE box but the box itself isn’t in good condition and the packs are not sealed well and each wrapper contains lots of creases which isn’t normal. Let’s hope they weren’t tampered with by whoever sent them to BBCE. The collation on first 12 packs seem weird with all the duplicates. I’ve opened some of these Empire Series 3 boxes and typically there are only 2-4 Title Introduction cards in the entire box.
The only Boba Fett card in series 3 is the illustrated one, pretty sure... and he's on one or two of the stickers... And I am shocked 'shocked I tell you!' that Topps' 1980s quality control didn't collate the cards accurately😄... Title card is a good one to have extras of, though.
If ya get sweaty hands try cloth white gloves. I bought a bunch so that I can give away Ewok animation cels away on my channel and not get fingerprints on them. Sadly all my original cards were lost through growing up etc. so nice to see them being opened. I wish weren’t so expensive. Thanks for sharing
I’ll be honest if I was you I wouldn’t worry about how long your videos get. Personally I prefer when they are longer I like all the dialogue and the card diagnosis if you will. ESPECIALLY in regards to the series 1 break the longer the better on those babies!
Interesting start on this one! Can't believe you didn't get ANY of the illustrated character cards! They're kinda like the Star File cards of this series, but not as cool in my opinion. They're still good ones to get in high grade! That Boba Fett can fetch a few bucks! So many title cards and even 2 in the same pack! Never seen that! Also interesting the very top cards of the very top packs had that moisture warping issue. Looks like it didn't affect much of the other cards, which is nice!
Topps did something strange on this set…they made it only 88 cards but each pack still had 12 cards, so it didn’t take too many packs to get a full set…I remember as a kid wishing the set had 132 cards like the other 2…also this set felt like an afterthought since the cards weren’t in chronological order like the series 1 and 2
This Empire series 3 set was an after-thought for Topps. They didn’t put much effort into it and you’re right, it’s easy to put multiple 88 card sets and multiple sets of the 22 stickers together from one full box. There’s only a couple poplar cards from this set. I once saw a Title Introduction GEM Mint PSA 10 up for auction and someone bought it for around $2000. It’s low POP and tough to get that card with perfect centering-especially from top to bottom…and without surface issues.
@@iamtheprotagonist you may know this answer, so I will ask….was the series 3 spaced out further release date-wise than series 2 was from series 1? As a kid, I was surprised when I saw the series 3 whereas I wasn’t surprised when I saw the blue bordered series 2…it seems like the surprise may have been because there was a gap in the dates, but it has been so long, I don’t recall
@@Silvereagledude Topps released The Empire series 1 set in May of 1980. That’s when they hit supermarkets and stores. Then Topps released Empire Series 2 in July of 1980. Then Topps released this Empire Series 3 set in September of 1980. So there was a 2 month separation between releases. I do remember seeing all the boxes and packs displayed in stores in September of 1980. Perhaps in your area the stores decided not to order as much of the Empire Series 3 cases/boxes - maybe there wasn’t much of a demand? Each supermarket and store had to place orders with Topps.
I wish I’d have focused more on these cards back then. Like I said, I was all about the figures and other same scaled toys. Didn’t even THINK about the cards 😖. I’m just making up for lost time I guess…. at quite a different dollar value 🤨. I love it none-the-less!
@@iamtheprotagonist I appreciate that info….there must have been so much series 1 2 product still sitting around that some of the retailers passed on it in my area of Indiana….
I love seeing so many of those intro cards with Vader…that is an iconic photo
Love your videos bringing back many memories the cards are probably the most cherished part of my large collection since 1977

Good point! Let it be… just let it happen as it happens. I hear you. I’ll spend less time harping on this aspect. Thanks for watching!

Yep… what I didn’t get in 328’s, I definitely got in 265’s. Like I said on another comment in here… I think something’s fishy 🤔

Btw, this Empire Series 3 is an 88 card set with 22 stickers, which is written on the bottom left area of the Introduction Title Card #265.
Great content!! 💙

I think I completely agree now… I need to just drop it on the time concerns. Let the cards fall where they may. And yes… will do for Series 1!

Yah… totally weird. The whole thing. I’d definitely prefer the Star File cards anyday…. but sheesh. I’d like’em both ya know?

No :/…. not in a Star Wars or trading card type of presence
