Yes they should, there are young players who could stand for the additional support. Not Greenwood. It's blatantly obvious what has happened here, CPS dropped the case because 'key witnesses dropped out' why, likely because they were paid to shut up... To imply Mason Greenwood deserve's another chance whilst accepting no responsibility is beyond a joke
In a sporting way United can’t disrupt something running so well currently. Doesn't matter if Utd are top of the league or bottom. The issue is whether an "innocent" man deserves his job back as he was not in breach of his contract or if the public has seen enough to make a majority decision..
One of Erik's main achievements has been to stabilize the dressing room and bring in people of good character who won't cause scandals or issues. I really can't see him tolerating the potential disruption from bringing him back. It's too risky and there's really no need for United to gamble like that. After all, he isn't the last striker on earth. I think the investigation is purely an attempt to get rid of him without paying him off and that the decision has already been made that he can't play again.

Not sure if it’s as much about money as it is them getting back together (not confirmed). We all saw how obsessed her dad was with Mason Greenwood as well, so it could be a multitude of things, not excluding money.
@Marcus Larson, I think it is a combination of all of the above...The dad drives an Aston Martin to wonder where that came from. ALSO, THE Dad came out after the videos were posted saying "Well, her phone was hacked, we as a family stand by Greenwood". What father after seeing and hearing that says that chit??? Next threats to her life from the public and some disgusting people. Then you have to take into account why would a man take back a woman who accused him of rape? Isn't it more likely the victim went back to the attacker? Like many Abuse cases... Now taking all this into account if Manchester United take him back and he kills her then what?
Why did it take this long He already had the money The girls family is well off They don't need GW money or did we forget her profession They broke up before this fiasco right They are back together Case dropped Make it make sense
I had a guy in my class growing up, everyone hated him. Mixed kid, was class clown etc. last year of school he hooked up with a girl. She claimed rape and that he drugged her. Went though the court, was dropped about a year later. She said she wanted attention and it was a lie. Changed that innocent man’s life forever. I think it’s the same here
I think it’s going to come down to how club and Greenwoods sponsors react to it. If they bring pressure to bear, because it goes against their policies, he’s toast at Man Utd. If they just shrug and don’t comment he might get away with it. It also might come down to his colleagues in the dressing room. They too will have a say in it. Ten Hag has just clamped down on dressing room discipline. The last thing he needs it a large percentage being against another player. It would be untenable.

Hi Mark. Good on you for giving your opinion. I agree with your conclusion. But two questions on your logic - 1. If morals in football don’t exist then why should they exist for Man Utd? Are you saying different rules apply for Man Utd versus other clubs? Or is it different for Man Utd because he is an existing player for us ? 2. (This isn’t arguing with your logic but a genuine question) If Man Utd’s decision was independent of the police case’s outcome, why didn’t we go through this investigation earlier and save us his wages until now in the scenario we do terminate his contract ?

I think Ten Hag is takes a misssve part in if he plays at United as it would only be discussed of him to stay if the manager wants it, if that happens I hope Ten Hag improves him as a person
Everyone deserves second chances! But he shouldn’t be playing football again, he ruined it himself and he has to take responsibility for it. Manchester United don’t need him, we are building and going in the right direction after years. That can’t be ruined by a kid who thinks it’s ok to do anything like this.
This makes me sick . No , is the answer . Having your charges dropped and being innocent are very different things . You’ve heard the recording , he is what he is accused of . I don’t care wether hes “innocent” by the letter of the law
Someone needs to educate themselves. Everyone (including Greenwood) is presumed innocent first then it's up to the law or whatever system to prove guilt. No guilt was proven on Mason Greenwood so he remained innocent.
People make mistakes in life especially when they are in the younger stage of life. If anyone on here make comments to the contrary are living in dreamland. If you have not learn from your mistakes, then it's on you. The lad should be given a second chance and his decision to grab those chances and make them productive will define his character going forward. ManU should give the decision to retain or let him go careful thoughts.
I think it should be Ten Hags decision. Hes the coach, its his team and his job to make the team perform at its best wether its with or without him. He did say he would welcome him back if found not guilty, although he has been found neither. I agree with whatever decision he makes on it
Club is in a difficult situation because we all know he isn’t innocent in this, I find it hard to believe he’ll be able to play in England again, his safety will be a genuine concern and his teammates won’t want to play with him knowing what he did
We don't "all know he isn't innocent in this". Even the CPS, with all the resources at their disposal, couldn't pin a conviction on him. So you're saying that he shouldn't play because you and others disregard the court verdict and insist he is guilty?

Courts do not proceed to hear matters unless the evidence and witnesses are able to establish a reasonable basis for possible prosecution. The matter was never heard in court, no judgement was handed down. If the prosecution were not able to present a reasonable case after well over a year, obviously the charges were unsubstantiated and therefore, inder the law, Greenwood was never found guilty of the charges. If there was positive evidence the matter would have proceeded in court. Trial by media and assumption is despicable
even if charges are dropped, I’d feel really uncomfortable if greenwood played any more football, and would disassociate myself from any club that gave him a contract
So by your standards no one should take him in at age 21 he should never make a living off his talent... might as well give him the death sentence cause everyone should have a road to redemption i say he takes a pay cut give to some charity after he goes to rehab... can't cancel someones livelihood imagine no one gave Malcom X a voice since he was a convicted armed robber
To be honest its not tho. Bad language was used, but its nothing really damning. People are going over board cos its a man united player and man United ruined their life so it triggers them more
Forget this being about Greenwood, or any footballer. The actual question should be “should the public cancel someone forever when legally they have not been found guilty?”. Because there are far higher profile people with expensive lawyers that evade justice when accused of terrible things. Rape isn’t a mistake. Disgraceful

One of Erik's main achievements has been to stabilize the dressing room and bring in people of good character who won't cause scandals or issues. After all, he isn't the last striker on earth. I think the investigation is purely an attempt to get rid of him without paying him off and that the decision has already been made that he can't play again.
