Can you blame him? Tifa is the hottest video game girl ever.
The Hug scene gets dissected by certain shippers as just 2 friends embracing after losing so much but I think it shows Cloud finally showing deeper feelings for Tifa than just friends. Cloud doesn’t want to let go until it hurts her but it shows his deep feelings for her as that wasn’t a quick hug. And he hesitated at first because I think he still doesn’t feel worthy of her because of past events but seeing as she is waiting for him (which can also be symbolic of her waiting for him to confess love) and not moving away...he finally embraces her! And you can feel the love there.
You should see what those certain shippers are saying about the kiss scene in rebirth. It’s delusional.

Now, I understand why people ship Cloud with Aerith, but I have always been a CloudxTifa girl. My way of thinking is Cloud in himself thinks of Aerith as a friend, but the Zack in Cloud thinks more of it, as Zack and Aerith were a thing (sort of) so yeah, I’m definitely a CloTi and ZackRith (if that’s what ZackxAerith is called hahah)

Cloud and tifa were meant to be together. If it seems that cloud might like aerith its because when he meets aerieth till the moment she dies he thinks he is Zack which we all know was aerith's other half.
@Kosename for me its a fatal attraction considering Cloud has Jenova cells in him thanks to Hojo's experiment concerning the Jenova Reunion Theory. I can only assume the reason both Cloud and Aerith get close is cause without knowing it Jenova/Sephiroth through the cells in Cloud wants to get close and stay close to Aerith cause of her Cetra heritage.
Zack & Aerith (Zerith or Zaerith) were definitely a thing, just as Cloud has always loved Tifa in silence (until 'now')

Nojima is a big Cloud Tifa fan. He is not going to do Tifa dirty like that. But I agree with your sentiment, Tifa deserves to be with someone truly deserving of her. Not to start a war here, but this is where I find Clerith fans to be a bit selfish. Even if Aerith doesn’t end up with Cloud, she still has Zack who is one BAMF and Cloud’s hero. Tifa, on the other hand, all she has is Cloud. He is the only guy she has been shown to devote her heart to. She deserves to have a happy ending.

I’ve played the original ff7 and I haven’t played the remake yet, but to me it seems that in the remake, Cloud & Tifa’s relationship seems more special than it was showed in the original. I’m guessing that might have been a conscious decision from the game producers.. in this day and age with a modern audience and fan base, I think it actually is a smarter move to lean towards Cloud x Tifa, as this would make the story and plot more favorable for the newer generation of fans. While older fans were more divided between the 2, I think younger fans who haven’t played the original, would want Cloud & Tifa to be together more.

EVEN AERITH HERSELF SHIPS THEM! By literally saying to Cloud "Even if you think youve fallen for me, its NOT REAL". Aerith pushed Cloud to follow Tifa to Don Corneo, "Oh no, you're going after her" - Aerith to Cloud.
Aerith also encouraged Tifa to follow Cloud to the fight agaisnt Rude "Follow your heart" - Aerith to Tifa.
Clearly, SE showed us fandoms of Cloti and Clorith that Tifa is Cloud's love interest while Aerith is Zack's (by the scene of Aerith telling Cloud that she loves Zack). Lets just say that Cloud seemed to really have an eye on Aerith (there are scenes that shows this), but Tifa clearly is in the depths of his heart 💖.

I always thought the original game pushed Cloud x Aerith a lot more, but IMO the remake clearly pushes Cloud x Tifa more. WAY more.

@@sassytheeunicorn Of course. Many, many times. Though addmitedly it's been a long time since I played the OG. For me at least the game always seemed to push Cloud and Aerith more, which continued in the Advent Children movie.
@@CidGuerreiro1234 To each their own, then, I suppose. I was ten when I first beat the game, and even my ten-year-old self understood Cloud and Tifa end up together. The reason I asked if you played disc two is because the Cloti development doesn't really happen until Cloud loses himself and Tifa has to help piece him back together in the Lifestream. She's also there by his side 24/7 the entire time he's a vegetable in a wheelchair. Even the nurse says "You better take care of that girl. If you don't, you'll be sorry!" when Cloud fully recovers. Plus, it's debatable if Cloud ever has romantic feelings for Aerith. He never verbally nor physically confirms it, whereas with Tifa it's established that he had a childhood crush on her (that he forgot about until the Lifestream sequence) and he physically confirms his feelings by giving her a shoulder to sleep on underneath the Highwind (It's also implied they had sex.) They also don't leave each other's side throughout the entire ending cinematics. There's even a cute part when the Highwind is going haywire where you can see Cloud and Tifa holding hands.
So, to me, Remake is just doing a better job of setting Cloud and Tifa up this time. Cloti was and always has been endgame.
@@sassytheeunicorn I was curious to see what they have in their bags such like facts from the devs' interview or ultimania books that favor their ship, the result is the official sources that favoring C/A is so ambiguous not like C/T which clearly stated that their feelings matched and them confirm it under the highwind literally says alot (they're absolutely the endgame pair for ff7). Those toxic shipper confidently using those ambiguous facts for their equipment while mostly those facts are referring to the whole avalanche grieving over Aerith (not just Cloud) or even Cloud grieving over Aerith and Zack (not just Aerith) 🤷

I'm not in crowd that hates aerith I just don't see her with cloud cause she jumped from Zack(after a certain thing happened to him) but when she first encountered him all it is teasing💁♂️. While Tifa you can tell she definitely likes him it's just he's still just that bit hesitant to commit fully.
