- A watch invented for King Charles favourite sport. As well as my own equipment, I needed another £53000 worth of equipment to restore this Jaeger lecoultre REVERSO so I went on a little road trip to seek some help from some amazing companies and below are their details

I love watching your videos as a rank amateur tinkerer. But it's your commentary that makes it entertaining, and sometimes, touching. Your gentle philosophies and warm regards for everything/everyone take us all out of the noisy world for an hour. Great work.
Thank you 🙏
Well said!
Well said! A genuinely kind disposition and manners.
Completely Agree - It’s nice to have a break from this crazy world we live in sometimes.

"What do you know?" "You don't know anything." Said EVERY Dad to his son, at one point or another, in one tone or another, many times in both their lives. I love it.
This is hands down the best watch restoration video I've seen on CZcams, ever. Period.
The machine shop was truly a gem. The pure efficiency of what they do in that small foot print is so incredible impressive
Thank you for this outstanding video. The field trip tour was wonderful and very informative. Again, thank you.
...in our time of mindless consumerism, seeing you revive such a battered masterpiece with such competence, endurance and passion is comforting and mesmerizing, well done!
Thank you 🙏
I've inherited my mother lecoultre 1930s , non reversible, and have just got it cleaned. I chose the same strap! It's now being used daily after being silent for over 55 years. I am very proud to wear it.
I thought the added metal would always be slightly visible, maybe in colour difference, but no, the end result, with the superb laser engraving, was miraculous. You made a wonderful job of a task that looked impossible. 👋👋👋
And the work clearly takes the soul into account. It would have been a cheat to just replace parts, but that was respect.
This is one of your best videos yet, it's great to see all the skills and resources available in your locality. It's amazing what you can find if you are prepared to look. God bless and best wishes to you all from NZ
Gooood afternoon from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great afternoon!
Same to you, from scandinavia
Central as in tampa?
My deepest compliments sir. I about had a heart attack at the sticky hairspring - but you came through as always- calm.
Thank you for sharing your skills with us minions
Joe, nice job with the out-of-studio recording and editing. It’s MUCH harder than people think and you nailed it. And then to have the watch turn out so well! What a great team effort. Nice to see they appreciate you like we do.
Thank you john
Joe, the Omega Seamaster Chrono restoration video series was your most epic, but I think that this was the most enjoyable video that you've made yet. Fantastic craftsmanship befitting such an iconic timepiece, but getting out of the shop and seeing a bit of old Birmingham and some of your mates was great. And kudos for keeping your tool envy under control. Btw, it looks like Trouble Too is well on his way to becoming a watch collector. Best wishes to the family and looking forward to the next treat from you.
Thank you 🙏
This was a jubilant crowning timepiece of restoration delivered again by the omniscient curator of timepieces ! The introduction of other parts of the kingdom and artisans added a regal element to your work. Thanks again for the entertainment and showing of your resource and skills. 😊🙏
who draw cucumber and eggs ?
@@nibz7255a good bet would be eBay there are crowns and stems on there now
@joejeweller having a hard time still honestly any chance you might know which seller?
Just when you think NW videos can't get any better, a new one arrives and it is.
Stunning work and amazing to see more new and different restoration methods.
Now i understand why watch repairs can be so expensive , having watched your video ,it's worth every single penny.Thank you.
Watchmaker, storyteller and philosopher. Every king must be proud of such a watch!
Blank proud.. Only hyped priced watch
Thank you for showing us not only another impressive restoration, but also a glimpse into the microcosm of superb British craftsmanship that you are a part of and help keep alive. God save the King (and grant him wisdom and kindness)!
That engraving was just incredible. They way they were able to EXACTLY reproduce every marking like that so cool
You, sir are an absolute magician, the romp around Birmingham was a breath of fresh air!!
That was absolutely amazing! I really enjoyed how you took us to such specialised craftspeople, who were so competent in their work, that nothing phased them. Amazing that they still exist and that they are so skilled as to be able to produce such fine work. An excellent video, as always, and completely mesmerising........... Brilliant!
What a labor of love Joe. A truly beautiful restoration to a pardon the pun, timeless time piece. A watch fit for a king to give to his queen. I really enjoyed this video Joe. God bless you and yours and God bless the King! Cheers from this old retired coot living the dream across the pond in Tennessee.
Thanks Robert
Amazing! I can’t believe how calming, relaxing and entertaining your vids are. Thank you for your hard work, you really do make anyone feel they can get involved and definitely removed the snobbishness from this fine art. 🔥
Thank you 🙏
Joe, your attention to detail is beyond words… The in awe moment I get when you have completed your finesse on the these projects is something I cannot thank you enough. I feel as though you get as much enjoyment in your reconstruction as I do to watch… Thank you and I always look for to your next instalment,
Cheers from OZ
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely stunning work,Sir.
Nice to see you work with people that you obviously respect. Incredible restoration for a special time piece. Your work is second to none.
Out of all the watch masters on CZcams you are my most favorite to watch... there is a soothing feel to all your videos and love the relationship with your little one. Amazing videos, thank you.
Thank you 🙏
A master. The hands of a neurosurgeon, a love of beauty, a great dad, funny and a deliverer of fine foods to fellow craftsmen. Excellent.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are a true artist Joe. And I really mean it. I'm stunned about this restoration. And the Reverso is my favorite watch too.
Thank you 🙏
It was a wonderful exploration to the shops. Thank you for the change of pace. This restoration has been great!
You make things look brand new and shiny again. You really bring it out on it.
What a treat. A gorgeous watch returning to its original glory with a perfect finish, using exceptional tools and skills that just match its masterpiece status. A video I won’t forget.
Fantastic work as usual Joe! Always wanted to see how laser welding worked. Thanks for recording that for us.
"A dress bulldozer"... I love it!!
By the way, great sentiment at the end about the homeless and unfortunate. Noted.
“Cinematography unlike no other CZcams film!!” “Stupendous!!” What a great video!
What a brilliant restoration . Thanks for that ,very informative and enjoyable . This is one of my favorite watch designs .
Now that is a job second to NONE! Remarkable and excellent in every way! 😊
Great post I really enjoyed seeing the small craftsmanship hubs this Country is famous for. God save the King 🇬🇧
Your videos are amazing. I love them all. They helped me in my worst of times during my cancer. When I was feeling horrible I'd put one of your videos on to help distract from my pain
The case service, utilizing laser welding and engraving was very interesting. The spring treatments to resolve the stickiness, showing all of the treatments was great. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not. This was one of your watch videos that was particularly interesting. Keep up the great work. Be well. 😊
Another winner, Mr. B👍🥰Craftsmanship doesn’t even begin to describe the work that you and your mates can perform!
Feels like a trip to your sanctum sanctorum to restore the elegant beauty to this classic. Excellent.
I could watch you fix watches all day I love the way you get yours kids involved growing a family business
Wow. I loved the road trip, that was fantastic. ❤ and that watch came up gorgeous. Fantastic work, Joe. ❤
Thanks Phillip
Stunning restoration and loved the walk-about.
" Oh would you care for a game of Polo? oh yes just let me turn my watch around" 🤣 OUTSTANDING WORK !!!!!!!!!
Emotionally this reminds me of when as a kid in the 70’s north London was full of lockups and small workshops that some how my dad knew and we could get everything repaired or made.
I am not a watchmaker, nor am I a big watch fan. I am wearing Apple Watch for it's technological benefits. But these videos are simply fascinating.
It’s a fad. It’ll pass, and will be worth nothing. Get a decent watch, from a decent manufacturer, and it’ll be worth something forever.
@@jeffforbess6802 It has a value for me, it does track my running when needed, I can use it to pay with no cash, card or phone with me, it does show the time, weather and so on. That is the value I can appreciate. I do like classic watches, but I am not willing to trade all the benefits just to wear the watch to show off. But I do understand why people would do so.😀
You crack me up dude 😂. Great video!
Thanks Bobby 🙏 really appreciate it and it means a lot coming from legends such as your good self. Love to you and yours
Joe, you are an incredible guy. A great watchmaker, super father and (although the accountant hasn't been asked) likely a great husband, too. Keep 'em coming, Joe! By trade I am a humble electrician, but I have always appreciated true craftsmanship whenever I have seen it, and you, my friend, are the real deal!
Thanks mate
I'd say this was a DIY job by the original owner, doubt it'd ever been serviced. Another beautiful result! Lovely seeing Birmingham again, all the best from Ireland 👍
Your best video yet, I reckon. I’d happily watch a whole series about the small specialist companies you work with. That was absolutely fascinating.
I doff my hat in awe of your knowledge, skill and patience. Re patience: comparing you to Job, he was a New York City taxi driver on crank. I SO enjoyed watching this!
I know nothing about watches. But this channel makes me fall in love with them. I salute any true craftsman out there. Much love from Swissy
Very enjoyable video showing all the restoration processes that we do not normally get to see. Truly well done indeed :)
This is a stunning restoration, amazing how the surface can be refilled and smoothed back to original, and the laser etching is perfect, really love watching your watch restoration videos…🤩
Love watching this episode?!? The camaraderie with the locals was brilliant!!
Skill….pure skill!!
Thank you
My wife says you need a manicure... Don't kill the messenger. Thank you for the history with this one. Very good
She’s right I do
And perhaps a steam cleaner for the feet @27:27 ...
You are wonderful, sir and teacher. We learn from you. We thank you for your tremendous efforts, your humble student from Morocco
Thanks mate
@@NekkidWatchmaker May I ask a question, sir? About tools and machinery for repairing watches. I am in dire need of repair tools and how to do so. Thank you very much
You did a great job on this. It's amazing how the movement was so cruddy at the crown but looked brand new inside. I really enjoyed seeing how the Reverso comes apart as a recent Duo-face owner. Thanks a lot.
I have to add; a song and a cough? Bonus? This presentation truly has it all.
That Laser Welding was cool. I have been wondering for ages how a laser filled holes. And now I know. Magic!
awesome work showing the community of craftsman rallying together. Utterly magnificent. appreciate you taking time to share with us.
Amazing to see some metal repairing techniques that I'd usually associate with cars and motorcycles - welding/molten metal and panel beating done on such a tiny scale. The laser etching to finish it off was brilliant. Thanks.
Thank you 🙏
If only we could find politicians in America with your sense of duty and honor to your work. Always both entertained and enlightened by watching your videos, and it is so great to see a real professional doing what he is both good at and loves.
Absolutely amazing work by you and all the other lads!! I am 50 and I'm learning how to mod and take apart movements and you are my absolute inspiration for that! Blessings my friend to you and to those whom you love!
Thank you 🙏
Going to guess most would not have taken this on. What a lucky man to have contacts as you have plus the skills to finish the job. Incredible work.
Thank you 🙏
So chilled after watching that incredible restoration...
A fantastic result.
Great sentiment that you expressed toward the end.. We can all but hope.
Thanks for this beautiful video. Long live the King!
I love that you find good watches that have actually been used & haven’t spent their lives languishing in a display case. Those dings seem to indicate that whatever the previous owner was using their watch for, they picked the right one.
This video was great! It reminded me to appreciate all those skills we take for granted. We forget that there is always someone somewhere that made something that is special to us, or that we use everyday.
This is simply a beautiful restoration. It has been so enjoyable watching this video. Loved seeing the jewelry haunts. Thanks for taking us along.😊
This was special, so much admiration for the care and effort you put into these - never a shortcut taken. Much respect
What a beautiful watch you've bought back to life.
I am rendered speechless, in awe of your patience and resolve.
I never understood the beauty or liked this watch until today. The movement is incredibly well designed in its balance of functionality, simplicity and decoration. Your video made my day! … as they have all done since your very first video during the lockdown, also a JLC!
As a very lucky Reverso owner, I loved watching that. Absolutely remarkable work. I cannot believe the state the watch was in before you started working on it. 👏🏻
I'd love to know more about the owners, do they wear the watches or put them in a safe.
@@dharmaqueen Hi Dharmaqueen, good question. I wear mine regularly - with interchangeable black alligator and brown leather straps you can dress it up or down. To not wear a nice watch and just leave it in a safe is to miss the joy of wearing such a beautiful watch. But don’t expect compliments from others because you’re wearing it for you - no one else gives a sh*t (quite rightly).
From the Republic of Costa Rica, a standing ovation for your and yours labor of artisanship with this jewel!
I think it's brilliant that while you are performing the most intricate of manoeuvres, you are also chatting away with your lad. Excellent.
Wow hammer time, big tools, food and a town tour Joe takes it to the next level. Keep well from New Zealand 🇳🇿
A truly astonishing restoration with a magnificent result.
I’m amazed of the detail on the watches you repair.
Also that case back is perfection.
Stunning restoration. I really look forward to watching your videos. You Sir, are a great character.
Hi Joe, well after a lean period (hope your family are ok) your back with your best ever. The metal enhancement and etching was utterly fascinating. The depth of your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. Knowing what to do with the balance spring must only come with decades of experience. Not sure you’ve done too much for Birmingham’s tourist figures or fine dining reputation, but the Vallee de Joux will feel threatened. Many thanks !
Another side of restoring an old watch, using outside experts to use thier knowledge and machines to achieve the results. Absoltely fascinating Well Done Joe you never fail to give "value for money"
Thank you 🙏
Thank you, sir, for having helped me explore this tiny world as we watch (sic!) over your shoulder... the concept of "inner beauty" has a whole new meaning for me now! Stay happy and healthy and may your gifted hands and your careful diligence continue to be richly rewarded...
Thank you 🙏
Fantastic video. I had no idea such things could be done. Always look forward to the next project.
Amazing work, Joe, simply amazing! When I first saw the watch, I never thought you could make it look like new again. Well done, sir!
And I loved the road trip! Loved seeing a part of the world I'll probably never see first-hand.
I am constantly astonished at your knowledge and your skill. You are not only a master technician, but a talented artist!
Blessings, peace and love on you and yours. Enjoy your new king! Long may he reign!
Really, really enjoyed the addition of other craftsman in your trade! Thank you for that nice ride!
Nice comment OriolesFan
Sitting here in Baltimore watching.
Thank you. To say I was able to observe a master craftsman would be an understatement.
Thank you for outstanding job, sir! Among so many fake and pitiful "restoration" videos on yt, it is nice to stumble upon a gem like this one! Greetings from Russia, and let us all hope for the King's virtues you've mentioned in your closing words! Again, thank you so much for this aesthetic delight! ❤
Thank you 🙏
Another remarkable transformation, just look at those closing shots. So well done. Another one saved for posterity - there will be some lucky (and justifiably proud) new owner calling soon, I'm sure.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing these videos, always terrific to see these timepiece related episodes of 'From Rags To Riches'! 🙂
"During the art-deco period even a bulldozer would be a dress-bulldozer"
LOL, that's amazing. I'm definitely using that line.
Today instead of watching a wrecking ball demolition or restoration of a rusted old gasoline engine, I watched your video. The beauty of your work was only exceeded by the excellence of this video. I was captivated by every minute of it. Thanj you!
Thank you
Wow! Just Wow! What an amazing restoration of such a beautiful JLC. I think honestly this video was one of your best yet. Maybe because of getting to see some of the work shops and their extravagant shop equipment for a change of pace. But also because of your commitment to amazing work. Cheers Joe on your work Mate. And thank you so much for your work, and sharing with us your passion!
Thanks Jared
Hi Joe, that was a wonderful Jaeger Lecoultre restoration video, your work is impeccable for detail, and it was such a wonderful finished result, i also enjoyed the little tour around Birmingham a historicle old city, and visiting your watch shop mates for help. I am sure King Charles would love the watch result 😉 I enjoyed viewing it here in Australia on our nice sunny Saturday morning. Thank you and the family, take care 👍
Thank you for sharing your peaceful soul yet again.
You are an inspiration of a man.
Your too kind, thank you 🙏
Joe, I love your videos. Definitely my favorite CZcams channel. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for you to release a new video, I look forward to watching.
Thanks mate
I love your channel and sometimes I get watch envy. This is one of the times! What a fabulous watch and seeing all the old companies and their processes was a real bonus. You made a superb job of putting the case back to how it should be. 👍🏼
I absolutely love this timepiece!!! Stunning work there Sir 👍🏻 A++++
