ABC rule. Airway-Breathing-Circulation.
Although sometimes suspected neuro issue will trump ABC. Like if someone was recently drowning and suddenly their toes point downward and their posture becomes decorticate, that sign would be the most important indicator of an emergency over something like wheezing, because it’s a sign of brain damage.
Please do more of these. Or an nclex q of the day. Im happy to see how much the channel has evolved. Always very useful info covered quickly! You, registered nursern, and simple nursing have been life savers!
We do one filmed NCLEX question a week, and one written NCLEX question each week as well! Check us out on tiktok as well, where we have lots of daily tips, hints, mnemonics, and reviews!
The answer is always in line with ABCs. Except OB. That one is almost always the one with high BP .
Can you do a video on prioritization
It's like the ABCs in EMT, Airway Breathing Circulation are the priorities:)
I think the exception is in a patient with a new cast. Compartment syndrome comes to mind as an exception to pain as a priority.
Also mi
But they are both circulation issues
And sickle cell anemia, when pain is high since it’s a sign for possible clots
Also, when safety is an issue, patient teaching can be the priority patient. Be very careful reading the options. Also, watch the verb tenses. When they something happened in the past that will require an intervention at some pointin the future, don't assume that the past event is an active problem that requires urgent attention.
All wonderful tips!
I thought she was going to say "I urge you to re-evaluate your career options" 😅
A B Cs...great video. Thanks for sharing!!
Very welcome!
Thanks Doc.
I always choose pain 😢 these questions always get me no matter how much I practice them.
If the pain is angina suggesting M.Infarction would that count as C for circulation?
Thanks soo much for this info I start august 12. I trying my best to know few things ahead of time.
You are very welcome. Best of luck in your studies!
They always try and trip us up with the pain patient
yeah, pain is uncomfortable, but it won’t kill the patient. it’s subjective. it’s important, but not priority
Priority =
ABC
Maslow’s
Heart - compartment syndrome
Cutiee❤
It’s never the pain. Never
💯
that seems pretty obvious
