  • Peruvian Air was written by Manuel Y. Ferrer. The second half of the piece is an ideal tremolo study.

    Good afternoon Daniel,
What a super piece! I saw that it dropped in late last night but I did not get a chance to view it as I had a needed to get up early today as I was helping out on a farm cutting trees and burning brush. So pleased I waited until the work was over so that I had a full opportunity to give this piece the time it deserved. I needed some clear fresh Andean air straight from Peru to clear the smell of bonfire from my senses and this has certainly done the trick. I am not sure if it is Peruvian but it certainly has the ring of the Sierra Nevada about it. My mind was transported directly back to Granada and the gardens of the Alhambra.
I really try focus in on your fingers when you post this type of music as I like to see the notes that you pluck, but the touch on the tremolo parts is so light it is hard to detect. Just brilliant!
That is plenty of practice and even more hard work paying off. You must have put plenty of shifts in when it comes to practice!
Off to our local church this evening for a quiz night. All just for fun but very competitive!
Keep Safe, Keep playing and keep Breathing that Peruvian Air!
    Clive

      Thanks Clive!
Cutting trees and burning brush used to be my avocation given this wooded lot. About 25 years ago my spouse presented me
on my birthday- a brand-new chainsaw. It got a lot of heavy use for many years but now she forbids me to use the machine for
a multitude of reasons. She wants to keep me alive, I guess

I certainly hope so, but can only speculate -maybe a Peruvian listener will have something to say

@@danbluedeer i sent it to my father, who is from Lima, and he says:
"Very beautiful melody, it's more on the classical side of the Peruvian folklore, a lot of the guitar music has Spanish influence"
