Little update for everyone:
At the end of the episode we hear that both Ricky and Tabitha excelled in their roles as Executive Chef and Manager.
Lela's closed in 2007 as although business had improved Lela's debts were too high.
Yelp reviews were mostly negative.
In it's place now is Aladdin Jr Restaurant & Cafe, an Arab restaurant with good reviews.
After Lela's Ricky went on to become Executive Chef at The Corner Butcher Shop in La Verne.
He later worked for Silver Spoon Catering and is currently working at Hollywood Park Casino.

Chef Ricky is honestly one of the best chefs that I have come across in the entire series. He changes from an arrogant, lazy man to a capable, composed chef. My man just lacked proper guidance and direction but once Chef Ramsay stepped in and showed him how it's done, Ricky reignited his passion for food and owned everything. It was really wholesome when Chef Ramsay complimented Ricky. Game recognizes game.
As for Lex, he wasn't used to leading the kitchen or handling pressure and therefore he snapped but he came back, stood up to his fears, and helped Ricky as his second, I mean that takes balls too. He did a pretty good job as well. I hope they both are doing well in life wherever they are.
I agree - I think it Lela had been more of a leader, he would have shown up better. Not that he didn't make his own poor choices, which he later owned, but I was surprised that Gordon let Lela off the hook for her lack of leadership. The crew was totally running the ship while she was passive and MIA. Glad she finally stepped up in the end, too.
@@lailas.3205the man was capable, but had been convinced that subpar food was fine. He was clearly told powdered instant mash was okay, no chef goes with that on their own. That’s probably a change that came after everything else gradually being degraded.
His comments about the lamb said it all. “That’s what we have” - he only saw his job as cooking what was there at that point, because he’d checked out.
Was legit annoyed with him right away. Very happy to see him change with the right guidance.
"He takes little things every now and then, but I haven't seen him do something like that *_in a while_*."
Meaning this isn't even the first time Buzzard has helped himself to a 4-course meal and wine.
His nickname was "Buzzard", that told me everything I needed to know.
He seemed to take his firing very well 😅 he knew he was flying to close to the sun taking all that shit wasn’t gonna last. Scam gig over
bro i was like "thats wholesome i hope the restaurant is still open :D" and then 2 seconds later it says "lela had to close the restaurant"
It's especially hilariously sad that it happens in literally the last 5 seconds. The whole episode everyone (who is still there by the end at least) is super likeable and endearing and you actually want them to succeed, and the episode ends on a really feel good note, and right when you think everything's ended happily there's just a super rushed 'oh by the way they actually failed miserably lol the end.'
I was so happy for them then that came up 💀
I hope Lela is doing fine. She had so much dept and had used all her savings...
