- Teeling Whiskey went for it... they made a peated, triple distilled, Irish whiskey that is also aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sauternes barrels... they wanted it to be smokey but also fruity? What?! Either way... it came out awesome! Enjoy the video!

I'm glad I watched your reaction to this. Afterwards, I bought 2 bottles when it went on sale near me for US$50, and (I'm admittedly a peathead) I find this so charming and inviting, it's hard to not choose it any night over some of my Scotches. A really easy-drinking dram.
Teeling is my usual pick, i used to live in Dublin close to the distillery, I guess it stayed with me. Can't wait to give this one a try.
Tried this one at the distillery a few months ago and it definitely had a heavy peat flavor, but thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
My bottle of Black Pitts too a LONG time to really open up and show more of the peat smoke. The Sauternes cask is dominant when opened but after about 6 months of being open the smoke framed the fruit really well. But, for less money you can get better Islay whiskies.
Thats a fair point and I love me some Islay. But it's IRISH WHISKEY MONTH!
Very good video Bill! Thanks for sharing. Just picked up a bottle for 45$. Haven’t cracked it yet, will do it today. Slàinte.☘️
Looking forward to the DNDrams. Good review here 🥳
We will definitely try Blackpitts based on your review. We just reviewed Connemara and liked it, especially after a few other drinks. Your videos are very informative. Love the Irish Whiskey month theme. Slainte Maith!
Thanks! Enjoy!
I’m really happy now. I just got this on clearance at a Costco Liquor for $30. I may have to go back and buy some more.
Thats an amazing price! Definitely crack it first and see if you like it but that's awesome
This a whiskey that needs to be approached with the correct mindset... We were deeply disappointed the first time we tasted it.
Second time round we really enjoyed it 👍🏻
Ardbeg is usually around 55ppm!
I have had Covid for the last 2 weeks and cant taste anything....
Sorry to hear that.
0_0 Well.... Definitely going to watch Dungeons & Drams. I already love your channel, and now I know you also play D&D?? Yes!
Can't wait to see you there!
Had it in my hand the other day. The price was too high for a teeling. I have three of their expressions and they are well worth 40-50 dollars.
I could see that. This is definitely something that Teeling put a little extra effort into but it's almost twice the price
$80 is a typical price and that is pretty high for a NAS whisky that is probably 4 y/o. They are doing the same with the Pot Still which is typically $85 and probably 4 y/o. By comparison you can buy Lagavulin 16 for $80 or Laphroaig 10 CS for $90.
Those notes remind me of Ardbeg Wee Beastie (BBQ, crisp, fruity). How do you think they compare?
They sound very similar but they're definitely different
I’ve just ordered a cask strength version of this. Have you reviewed it?
Nope! Didn't know they made one. I hope it's amazing!
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary I’ll let you know!!!
"Reduce that medicinal quality that a lot of people don't like in peated whiskey" that's what I DO like
You and me both. But I hear the opposite quite often
In my opinion the lemon turns into pineaple taste.
46% ABV and it's 96 proof? What is this, amateur hour?
Haha seriously, thanks for the review!
Gha! Math is hard. That's what happens when you use templates :)
$79...????
by me it's only $49
Sibilant mic. Please fix.
