    Tullamore dew is my favorite of the three. I put it in a blind and Jameson beat my tullamore lol. Blinds are a great way to enjoy a dram.

    I suggest to people not to make a determination on just one bottle. I've had several bottles of each of these and they were ALL different. Every bottle of Paddy's was different. Same with Jameson and Tullamore. Every bottle I've had, was different from the last.

    Great review. Paddy is the only Irish whiskey I've tried so far and I loved it. I'm pretty easy to please and I only sip whiskey neat. I'm looking forward to trying Jameson.

      Thanks for the feedback. For me, Jameson is definitely an upgrade over Paddy. Enjoy!

      Try Redbreast, it's slightly pricier but it's not too expensive, tastes amazing!

    Nice Review mate. Here in my country, Jameson is much cheaper than Paddy, so is the most sold and famous

  • @TheOakandSmokeWhiskeyReviews

    Jameson is my favorite of the three!! It’s a solid Irish that pairs well with almost any meal.The D.E.W seems to have a bitter finish for me, but not bad. Great review!! Just subbed!! Cheers!!🥃

    Nice episode, Toby! Interesting that Jameson won. I think it is solid whisky, but I like the Black Barrel version better ( I see you have it on the shelf) . Recently, Green Spot got available here in Norway for a reasonable price, so I consider buying that one. It is maybe not in the budget category, more the lower end of sipping whiskies. Cheers!

    When I die, and go to heaven, I hope to sip twelve-year-old whisky neat, listen to whisky blues music and smoke fine cigars under a Red Oak tree.

    I had Jameson a few times before and enjoy it. I just ordered Paddy's which was much cheaper. I should get it in a few days time. Hoping it is at least close to Jameson. Never tried Tullamore Dew. I'm in South Africa
    Nice review by the way.

      Let me know what you think of the Paddy's once you've tried it and if you prefer it over the Jameson. In the UK, the price difference isn't that much.

      @@WhiskyShared I tried it and it's quite nice. I prefer Jameson for sure but in South Africa Jameson is 25% more expensive so value for money I'd say they are pretty much the same. Will definitely consider Paddy's again.

    • @WhiskyShared
      @WhiskyShared  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for sharing. I prefer the Jameson too as you know. The Paddy probably has a higher grain content which makes it cheaper.

    How can you say that drinking them neat isn’t what they were intended for ? Everyone has their own opinion and preference I suppose.. Saying that as if it’s fact isn’t right. I can drink any of these whiskeys neat and preferably the Jameson, why would you mix Jameson with anything ? Again it’s opinion only but to say that these whiskeys are intended to be used as mixers is just down right insulting.. That my friend is my person opinion

    Thanks for the interesting review. Question: have you ever had Tommy Ballards Irish Whiskey? I' haven't found a single review anywhere. A friend of mine, also here in Cape Town, South Africa sampled it this evening. Cheers from Cape Town.

    • @WhiskyShared
      @WhiskyShared  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks. I'm not familiar with that brand. Doing a quick google, it seems it's made specifically for the South African market. They most likely buy their liquid from one of the big Irish whiskey producers and as they mention West Cork in their name, it might be the West Cork distillers that make it for them. It's probably not bad but the three big names in my review should be as good or possibly better. If you try it, let me know your thoughts.

      @@WhiskyShared Hi Toby, thanks for your response, much appreciated. I think you may potentially be correct about it being made specifically for the South African market, because it hasn’t popped up anywhere else it seems. I haven’t seen the bottle nor labels yet, not tasted it yet, but my friend “claims” it’s not a blend, and is a single malt. I think he’s wrong, but I’ll ask him for some photos. As a matter of interest, as a legacy of very strict liquor laws in South Africa, most are always 43% Alcohol, whether locally produced or imported. I think in the USA and UK, probably 40% generally? I’ll keep you posted. Cheers Steve.

    • @WhiskyShared
      @WhiskyShared  Před 2 lety +1

      It's definitely a blend and the only place I can find information on it is a South African spirits importer's website. It's all very fluffy and full of marketing speak.
      If you find it any more details, I'd be interested to hear.
