It’s just a shame that the SNP run GCC have ruined this great city.
@@alangebbie8848 Never mind mate, we'll be independent soon then you'll have a real chance at voting out the most popular democratic party in at least a century of democratic elections in the UK.

You’re awesome 🤩 thank you
I'm a Londoner who has lived in Glasgow for the last 4 years. I'm moving to Germany next week. I'm really going to miss it and only have good things to say about the people. Salt of the Earth. There are more polar bears roaming the streets than there are Tories here so you can't go far wrong. There's no need to go to the Edinburgh Festival because Glaswegians are funny all year round and you don't have to pay for it.
That is pretty funny mate. We don't try and be funny mate ,we canny effin help it. I remember my Faither, dock worker, staring oot the window. My wee Ma would be 100 yards away with the messages, groceries they called in England. It would take her 40 minutes to get home. Kept bumping into women and more chat chat. My Da would be raging , Ma would get to house , Father would be raging. But he wasn't it was all a laugh. There is a big saying in Glasgow. "Who Gives A Flying Fu%k?. Peace.
I had a absolute ball in Scotland. I enjoyed the spring time. It is so beautiful.
Greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I worked in southern general hospital from 1999 -2003. I had fond memories of the city and would alway make it a point to revisit the city whenever I'm in the UK
Makes me want to burst into...”I belong to Glasgow”🎶🎶🎶💙🏴
As a native glaswegian I have NEVER once in my life heard anyone say "pure barry" I have no idea what that even means
@Talorc MacAllan I have no idea what that means either and I've spoken pure glaswegian all my life. Have never heard the term glasgays either. I've heard glaswegian or the more common gleswegian. Or if you're referring to the city it would be glesga bot glesgay
As someone that’s lived their whole life in Glasgow I love your video mate. I’m a big fan of anything remotely documentary like so your quick and easy to digest summary of the city as someone looking from the outside of Glasgow is superb. I think your video is very informative and would be a great help to anyone thinking of moving here as well as giving a great history of our city. I’m proud you chose to live here big man, keep up the good work
Typical selective historical account of the city.Totally missed out on how the city also profited from African slavery.
I live in the West end, but not the good part. I can see the positives he is mentioning, but he forgot the heroin use, the NEDs, the muggings, knife violence, the rangers outburst, how fierce the rivalry between the rangers and Celtic is, and most of all the statue Of
Arthur Wellesley, with his traffic cones.
Well done 👌I have live in The Southside of Glasgow. #acumfaegovan
@@stephanieadelaarson the rangers outburst no way 😭😭😂😂 did u actualy say that haha howe u feelin still greetin a take it 🤣🤣🕺
Here Here!
I Totally can relate to what you mean by: City my heart belongs to" . I only stayed there for a year and half to get my Masters degree at UofG and I absolutely and completely fell in love with the city and the people...The world's most friendliest city with the best people in the world and ofcouse the beauty of Scotland...I love Glasgow...For the last 6 years I have tried to find the same feeling elsewhere but nothing works.
I’m an ex-Londoner now living in Argyll and I love Glasgow. My wife and I have just returned from a short City-break there and we had such a great time. We visited the Kelvingrove museum, Glasgow University, The Botanic Gardens, and a multitude of shops and eateries.
If you’re visiting for the first time I recommend a bus tour starting in George Square, it really helps you to get your bearings. We even took in the pub where Billy Connolly started his career. As a person born and raised in London I felt very at home in Glasgow, it has the same vibe and young folk everywhere due to the three universities and huge central college.
The people are great, the history is fascinating, and the architecture is a real pleasure. We live in a very rural area so Glasgow is our little city fix every now and then.
I’ve lived in Glasgow for 55 years and I’ve never been to the pub billy connolly started his career 😂 well done you! We love the bus tours too, my dad was a Londoner from Camden Town and he moved to Glasgow when he was 28 to be with my mum who was born in the gorbals, and he always said the people of Glasgow were much more friendly than where he came from, and felt he was more at home here xxx
@@elkiepops
That's nice to hear Laura. 😊
It's interesting to hear that your Dad was drawn away from London by love...
Very romantic 😊 🙏
i was born in Edinburgh but raised in glasgow ,when i hear folk from different country's talk about this city , i feel proud and humble , thank you
I visited Glasgow a few years ago, I was overjoyed how friendly and helpful the locals were despite me being English
I know loads of English people who live in Glasgow English people will have no problems in Glasgow
Ye we joke about Scottish and English people not liking each other but its not really true from what i see and alot of people in Scotland me included have family in England and vice versa
@@billyj2502 : Can you say that in comprehensible English and using proper grammar?. Thanks.
No I can't you twat but I will delete it because the comment it was aimed it has been deleted because the person knew I was right
A fair and accurate description of Glasgow, well done
I moved to Glasgow last year. I am never looking back.
Don't forget to mention the wild "haggis" in the Kelvin grove museum.
As someone who has lived in Glasgow for nearly 50 years I really enjoyed hearing your perspective. A great outline of this city💙
Scotland Native here 👋🏻
Both of my parents were born in Glasgow (Govan & Rutherglen) and we grew up in North Ayrshire and my very first apartment was in Dennistoun in the East End of Glasgow and I miss it every day and watching your video makes me so happy to hear that Glasgow has had such a positive impact on you ☺️
It truly is a remarkable city with amazing people from all backgrounds (minus celtic and rangers fans on football day) 🖤
As an Iranian I must say I love Glasgow.
well done David , I live in Glasgow am Scottish , you know more about here than I do lol😂
I’m Glaswegian, I’m living and have lived in China for 4 years. It’s great to see my city from afar and from a foreigners perspective. You nailed it, excellent good quality, informative video. Well done young man! Appreciate the effort you put into it. Glaswegian and proud. You, young man are a credit to your own country. Respect 🙏🏴
I’m from Glasgow…you won’t ever, ever hear anyone use the word “Barry” unless they’re saying someone’s name. It’s an Edinburgh / east coast / Fife term.
im from edinburgh and you never hear use the word 'barry'
@@albannachaviation1786iam from edinburgh and we use word barry in edinburgh is defo edinburgh slang
I'm from Glasgow and he didn't say barry was a Glasgow expression. Watch it again 🤔
Lol I no
That's what I just said. I'm pure glaswegian and have never in my life heard the expression "pure barry" I don't even know what it means
Totally agree! Have lived in the Uk for half of my life but Glasgow is the best!
You deserve a sponsorship from Glasgow Tourist Board for the effort put into this fella.👍🏴
You forgot to mention the orange walk. Nice family parade.
Glasgow isn't a place I'd automatically think of visiting, but you've presented it so well, and made it look so good, I might just make it my next city break destination.
I loved it so much here, I left England to set up home here five years ago, and no thing's changed, I still love it here (OK, the average weather could be a bit better ... But at least it isn't unbearably hot in the summer, and we usually get a decent 2 weeks of snow on the ground). The people here are awesome! Come visit, and you'll want to come back, maybe even stay!
You are right, Glasgow ISN'T a place that most people would think of visiting, partly due to the reputation for violence that was true 30-40 years ago. I've spent a lot of time there, and it's certainly no worse than any other big city, and safer than many places I could mention including Manchester, Sheffield and London! Well worth a visit. Beautiful city, and the locals are great people!
As a Glaswegian native i find your video to be entheusiastic about the city.
It's refreshing to see someone speak volumes about Glasgow which is a mixture of both historical and contemporary combined into one.
There's something for everyone to enjoy here.
Great video 👍
I wonder if he's been mugged yet.lol
@@Crayfordceltic there's more people live in London than the hole of Scotland, what's your point?
Glaswegian here, what a video and I love people coming here to visit the city. Great video!
Born and Bred in Anderston, Glasgow, you have done a great job!🏴🏴👍
This is a great condensed reference for anyone interested in Glasgow as a city. I'm a born and raised weegie and can confidently say you nailled it. It's not an easy place to understand or get to grips with if you're not from here so well done.
Iv never said Barry in my life - from a born and bred Glaswegian
Aye but at that point he was talking about scotland as a whole before turning his attention to Glaagiw. Pay attention 😁
@@SlowLane-pv3nf I couldn’t I had to turn it off 😂😂
i've heard a couple of folk say it, but meaning the opposite...it's Barry (White)....meaning shite
First i’ve heard it as well, i’m a Glaswegian but have been away 40 years though.
Oh my god, this video was made for me. I’m moving to Glasgow in the fall for school and this video has got me even more excited!! Very comprehensive and informative video!
Thank you!

Hey! Let's connect! I moved there about a year ago
Interesting to hear an 'outsider's' take and great that it was so positive. Loved that you included the shot of the woman with the "Bag for whit's left of your life" Lol. I've missed Glaswegian humour in the thirty odd years I've been away.
Much better than I expected, well done! Well researched, well put together and well explained. This is my home city.
Great video. Thank you. I come from Glasgow and always proud to go back. Even though I was brought up in rough area in the southside, it's great to see brilliant and positive stories. I guess people are as positive or negative as they want. Thanks man.
Cool video mate 👍 live near Glasgow for 26 years, moved to Sydney nearly 4 years ago. Great to see Glasgow again 😊
Excellent video, my friend! I’m a Glasgow TV producer, this was well produced, researched and delivered! 😃
Many thanks for this video David. As an ex-Glaswegian who left Glasgow 54 years ago I found this very interesting. You taught me More about my home town in 13 minutes than I had previously known. Excellent and well done.
What a great, positive video. I've always lived in Glasgow and I must say this has been the best representation of the city, thank you for that.
Like a holiday video for dingy divers.
Visiting Scotland and spending five or say days in Glasgow this summer. This was very helpful. Thanks
@lazyshit67 One week in June only.
As a Scot from the Highlands who has lived in Glasgow for a good few years in the past, I can attest that Glasgow always remains in your heart
David I was born in Glasgow… you have done a great job.. well done !!
Just came accross this, brilliant video and so good to see the impact Glasgow has had on others. We do like every other city have issues but to see us so well thought of by "foreigners" is amazing. I put the "" in to emphasize that although you may not be Scottish you ARE Glaswegian.
I'm mixed with Indigenous American (Blackfoot) and Scottish + unknown (Dad was adopted so I have no idea what else) I grew up in America but have lived in India for 6 years. I really enjoy how diverse our planet can be and it's awesome how this internet let's us share knowledge and experiences 😃🙌 Excellent video 👌✌
I'm interested in knowing a lot about glasgow, in fact I'm planning to study in it
What a wonderful place to go to ❤
It's friendly and great night life
I'll presume it's the free loading education which is the biggest draw.
Welcome 🤗❤️
The good thing about Glasgow it is always moving with the times and re inventing it's self greater Glasgow population is well over a million people with the conerbation of 2.4 million people good video well presented 👍
An absolutely brilliant video of all things Glasgow really well put together i don’t think a native of Glasgow could’ve done a better job 👍🏻
Nice wan bud fae a Glaswegian, well done. 👍😉😊
I love your video. As a Glaswegian myself I get the extra enjoyment of trying to guess the location of certain pics. Fabulous video. Thank you!
This may be the best video on Glasgow ever made. Well done mate.
Thank you so much Mark!
Loved it!
amazing explanation! thank you, David.
I learned a lot! Added stuff to my bucket list
Great video, I'm a 53 year old Glaswegian and you've taught me a few things I didn't know about my birthplace. A couple of your pictures are a little odd or out of place (Singer's factory in Clydebank and a strange, unbuilt tower next to St Enoch's Square) but otherwise this is excellent!
But although Clydebank is its own town,it's pretty much the start of the west end of Glasgow or greater Glasgow area coming from the west heading east.As soon as you come of the Erskine bridge and head east ,that's were the built up areas starts in Clydebank. Most people from Clydebank were born in a Glasgow hospital and it has a post code G81 and I'd say most people from there would class themselves Glaswegian.Im from there ,and always have.
Thanks for this upbeat review.
Wonderfully accurate and interesting report on Glasgow, David ( and I'm a middle-aged born and bred Glaswegian )
Where abouts in Glasgow you hail. Or just tell me what the young teams called in your bit?
Brilliant m8! Can't wait to visit again.
Great account of Glasgow. You covered just about everything there is to know about this great city.

Great video man. You might know more about Glasgow than any of us who've lived here forever do haha. Well done. Also, you nailed the pronounciation of Sauchiehall street which isn't easy for non-natives, well done.
An excellent piece of work. Thank you David!
Well done young man for an excellent portrayal of my home city.
