Your the bomb my guy this is exactly what I’m getting now definitely love the build been a while since I checked your build but it has been very clean from what I’m seeing good stuff🔥🔥
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Chris, thanks for the content. Its tough finding good 10th gen content on CZcams.
Also, show us more of that EG lol!
I appreciate that and there’s more of that EG coming!
Shoulda made a CZcams channel with a bunch of 10th gen si content lol awesome stuff man, min will be like that soon 💯
Already itching for the review video!
To see my 8th gen wheels on the 10th is actually working for me! Nice
Yea I pleasantly surprised lmao
What’s up Chris! You can do your front sway bar in your driveway. I did mine in like 2 hrs by myself. Great build and keep up the great work 👍🏻
Yea I was hoping to do both at the same time but I’ll have to do it at home. Appreciate the comment!
welcome to the ACT clutch club. i've had mine for 3500ish miles pushing 345whp/308wtq on E30. great bang for the buck!
Thanks man! I’m excited to actually rip the car and see how it feels! It’s almost broken in.
Stock block too? If so, impressive.
@@imnickcampos yup. Stock block but I went the PRL kit route.
@@madchillerofficial Right on! I'm probably going the w2 route when it releases. Full bolt ons and the car and still slow lmao.
This sounds like the clutch I want. Personally I like the OEM clutch feel but want more power. Looking forward to the full review! Keep it up brother!!
Thank you!
Hi guys. I have a question for you : I am planning to upgrade the clutch as well ( as the turbo, down pipe and intercooler have been upgraded as well) and I’m curious if you noticed the car revving faster with the new one. After the upgrades and tune I feel the car revving slower than stock.
Just ordered this clutch. Getting it installed soon. My question is, why did you choose the OEM release bearing? Should I do the same?
Love the 8th gen rims!
Thanks!
Keep up the great videos 💪
Thanks buddy!!
How did you get rid of the codes on the odometer after installing the clutch?
Hey bro did you change out the pilot bushing/bearing ?
If so where did you get the part ?
Why did you go with Honda throw bearing vs the ACT one? Was there reasoning behind that?
With the stock clutch, are you supposed to engage all the way down? Asking because thats how I learned to drive stick, back in 2010, but I just got me a stock 2020 Si and I feels really different. Like If I should engage the clutch just half way.
How much power can the act clutch handle?
Hey man, I’m back again. Lol how long did you wait for your clutch to come in from unity? I’m rolling in on 5 weeks now since the purchase.. still no eta
I used to have a ek hatch with a b16a swap. Had to get rid of it bc having first kid. I will get another now they are getting a little older.
They are awesome cars!
Hey lowpes you dont have a strut tower brace how come
Do u required a tuned after the clutch replacement what if u dnt Wana go noo tund
Did you find that you needed to upgrade the CMC with this clutch upgrade? Also, why did you use an OEM throwout bearing? Looking to do potentially the same package on my car.
Just ordered this from unity performance did you put the Prl steel line or no ?
yessss. Me next
How much did he charge for replacing the clutch ?
Thanks for the content Chris, i am on a similar boat and wondering how much will the labor cost? did you have a cmc upgrade as well?
The labour cost is roughly $5-$800 and I don’t have the cmc yet! Thanks for watching!!
@@ChrisLowpes lmao where can I get this done for 5 dollars?
hey chris you think you can send me the link or part number for the OEM release bearing
Was wondering what kind of exhaust system you’re running cuz it sounds so clean with that nice purring sound 👌🏼
I have a PRL front pipe, PRL catless downpipe, Invidia r400 exhaust
Awesome! Thank you bro 🙏🏼
@@brucemelgar4805 not a problem!
It’s easy with all the right tools 🛠
100% right
Do u need a tuned when u upgrade too this clutch
It is ya boiiii lopesss
I bought the same clutch haven't installed yet, There's any particular reason with you went with the Honda throttle bearing? Thanks
They tend to be way more reliable and not fail, I also have a review video of the clutch coming out tomorrow!
Hey been enjoying these videos, they've helped me choose good parts for my own SI. You mentioned this clutch relieves the rev hang issue and I was wondering if this is on top of ktuner relieving it as well? Or had you removed the tune?
It’s the lightened flywheel that helps with the rev hang. I do also have ktuner still.
@@ChrisLowpes since ktuner isn't legal in my area I was considering the carb legal hondata tune but that one doesn't reduce rev hang. Would you say the lightened flywheel reduced rev hang a significant amount on it's own not counting the ktuner tune?
@@Anthony-gq9eu yea I would say it does with my set up. It’s a huge difference from stock
@@ChrisLowpes awesome, good to know. Thanks for the reply!
@@Anthony-gq9eu not a problem!
How long did it take to get done
Did you remove your side skirts and lip? Or did they happen to break off? I was curious because I watched your video of the side skirt install and I like to visit newer uploads to see how they’re holding up
I removed the side skirts for the winter, the front lip got torn off in a winter storm. Should of taken that off too 😅
@@ChrisLowpes sorry for your loss man but also can’t wait to see what you have for us next 🔥
@@chris666 it’s all good and thanks!
did your shifting change at all after install ? like shifting into 5th and 6th gear is slightly harder now, takes me time to find the gears to shift into. ( like i could shift into reverse easier now when trying to shift into 6th, where before i never had that problem
I personally never had this issue sorry
what is the price of that clutch??
Hey Chris! Humza is waiting for my CMC upgrade before he ships it to me. Are you going to be doing that as well?
Yes I am also!! Waiting on mine!
@@ChrisLowpes Which 1 you getting?
Is there something wrong with act release bearing? And where did you get the Honda one?
There isn’t anything wrong, the oem one tends to be more reliable that’s about it
Those wheels are dope
Hopefully my clutch never goes out holy shit haha
Coool
Changed mine out in my garage already at 53k miles and now has 66k mile. I used CM fx300 along with single mass flywheel.
Really like although I do get that damn lock out.
Pedal feels solid and rev hang...well better but will never get rid of it completely.
Have you upgraded your cmc and line? I heard that helps with lockout
@@ChrisLowpes you know, I do have gear lock out only when im autocrossing or feel like redlining it. Other than that, everything works great. Pedal feel reminds me of older hondas. The engagement point is on point, and no more slipping.
I haven't yet changed those two items.
It is sort of disappointing to me to have to change so much just so the upgraded clutch function right. Just don't remember having to go through all that with my older hondas.
@@vah-mingmoua9599 unfortunately the newer cars are more complicated then our older Honda’s. Try upgrading the CMC and line and I’m sure it will help!
Good 👍 ASS job Brudda ✌.
Is this the HC10-HDSS ?
Hey
My clutch for civic is out I need to replace it… where did you buy yours ??
You can grab it at Garage16
Is the new fly wheel a single or still a dual mass?
It’s a single mass flywheel
Does this clutch eliminate the " bobing " and jerking I get from a start?
No that's just your foot
Why did you go with the OEM bearing instead of the ACT bearing?
They tend to be more reliable and fail less
Installed prl cobra intake, was concerned about hydrolock on the car bc the intake sits so low..any issues you have running yours when u had it? On rainy days etc etc
Nope I haven’t had any issues and have drove in really bad weather. Grab a hydro shield if your concerned about it, they definitely help!
@@ChrisLowpes I’ll take your word for it, your from ny right? They probably experience more terrible weather then nc here lol. Thanks for the reply bro! Digging the build btw
@@vthach2012 I’m from Canada and we get shit weather here also. A hydro shield will give you a piece of mind and they aren’t expensive. Thanks for watching!
@@ChrisLowpes yes I bet a lot of snow up there, yeah for sure keep doing your thing Keep up the motivation
Approaching a snow day on Friday, worried about the intake being submerged in snow... did you ever face that problem? Or if you ever experienced it yet
SELL THAT EG🤤🤤🤤🔥🔥🔥
Ek 4doors🤣 that was good 👍
A review of the clutch coming soon!?
Yes very soon!
Did you use the supplied throw out bearing or a oem one?
No I used an oem one
Why the OEM one over the ACT
@@153eddy The failure rate of the oem throw out bearings are no where near as bad as the aftermarket bearings that are supplied in most of these clutch kits.
Niiiice
If you got oil, why didn’t you get some tranny fluid? Breaking in a new clutch with old fluid that will definitely have material in it?
I definitely dropped the ball. I’ll be doing a tranny fluid flush soon anyways!
Use Amsoil. Huge difference in the shifting
Hi Chris. Did you upgrade the CMC as well?
Hey, no I did not!
@@ChrisLowpesohhh I see. Thanks for the reply bro! Bought the kit because of your videos about it.
@@Shikimori969 not a problem hope you enjoy it!
What tune are you running and what tune do you plan on getting. Great vid man
I have the base map for W1 race MAF and I will be getting a custom tune. Thanks!!
@@ChrisLowpes do you have full bolt on? Because I heard we couldn't run that map if we were full bolt on.
@@thatcryptoguy7313 I’m full bolt ons with a w1 turbo, 27won turbo inlet and race MAF without issues
@@ChrisLowpes thanks man
Why not use act release bearing??? Why oem??
From what mechanics told me the oem throw out bearing is more reliable
Oem bearing is the best. Aftermarket bearings tend to fail.
@@Litto1 thanks!
@@ChrisLowpes I see thanks!
what exhaust are you running?
Invidia r400
Which clutch model and fly wheel did you get?
I got the ACT HD street clutch with 17lb flywheel
Thanks buddy. Love the vids
@@Terr98 appreciate it, thank you!
Still on the d2 springs?
Yes I am
With a bigger turbo and more power you should use a higher viscosity oil and a decent filter fram is garbage, 0w30 or 5w30.
Yea I was debating on changing the oil viscosity and the filter was a last minute decision unfortunately. I appreciate the looking out!
@@ChrisLowpes I have a 1.5 6mt accord i was really looking into buying that same clutch, update when possible please thanks again!👌
@@jesusm-vn7hx it’s almost broken in so I’ll be shooting it sometime soon!
Why not use the HD act throw out bearing? And use a wix Xp or mobile filter next time, fram is just loose cloth no bueno my guy
Oem is more reliable from what I heard from mechanics and it was a last minute oil change that’s why
organic sprung?
You got it!
I didn't see where you posted the mobile mechanics info, if possible can you DM me it. Thanks bro
Just fixed it! All his info is below!!
@@ChrisLowpes Thx bro
Why didn’t you use the ACT release bearing??
OEM tends to be more reliable.
@@ChrisLowpes gotcha thanks Lowpes! 😎 👍🏼
@@ChrisLowpes I forgot to ask u think i can re use the existing one? Honda wants 75$ for one smh
@@felipeperez7963 I personally wouldn’t but it’s probably been done
@@ChrisLowpes good deal 😎
Second
first
Wait what happened to the works?
This is my winter setup but I did sell them and looking for a wider setup
Goes out to get oil, which doesn't need to be done. Re-uses the gear oil which is likely from the factory. Come on???
Why are you taking half the car apart to do a clutch install? U seriously don’t have anything better to do? It could be done without pulling almost anything off other than the clutch, flywheel, and throw out bearing.
