What works for you when you want to clean up those black plastic fenders on your Jeep Wrangler?
Just use crisco, put on and wipe after it sits over night. Last for over a year and looks great!
I added something to your vid advice on Wranger plasticmobile fenders. I have a smaller rotary brush that goes in a drill. I’ve used Mother’s Back to Black before. With the brushing everywhere it sinks in and does a good job fast with the drill gun.
Boy, Mama, I did just what you recommended with brushing and Mother's Back to Black. Wow it takes the old wax off and cleans up all the whole fender. I'm also using a rotary drill brush to speed things. Winner!
Woot! Woot!!!
New jeep owner here and already in my 40's. I love watching your videos. Really helps out
On the plastic trim for my vehicles I use transmission fluid then after it's "dried" or penetrated the plastic I wipe on some 303 aero space for UV protection. Pretty solid
I have heard lots of folks mention 303 Aero Space. It's on my list to check out!
I used mother's as well on my JK and now I'm using it on my JT. Good stuff.
Yeah i need to get some more
I used Car Guys plastic restorer from Amazon. Turned oot great on my flat fenders and leaves no oily greasy residue for dust and stuff to stick to it
Thanks for sharing! I am going to check that out next time!
Got some at O'Reilly! Worked like a charm ! Thanks for your awesome video.
Your Welcome! Glad to have helped!
I've used aerospace 303 on my fenders since I got my jeep and they still look like new.
Someone else mentioned that. I will have to look into that.
Hey Jeep Momma! I am just like you I tried everything nothing worked! But a guy at the beach told me about Back to Black I had never done this with a brush in the way you did but will try later today. To me it’s almost shameful to ride around in a dirty Jeep Wrangler! I live in the south where you have every color mud imaginable! Thanks for the tip on using a brush!
Lisa Waldron yes back to black works but for a little bit. I use tire foam now. Check out my Top 5 Clean hacks video
I use Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax with Smart Shield Technology. Leaves no white residue and can be used on all of outside of jeep. Water beads up on them and with no shiny dust magnet residue. I used it 2 years on my 2012 and have used it for 5 years on my 2014 with great results. Have not found a better alternative. 😊
Thanks for the tip!!! I will check it out!
Thanks.... I use Aerospace 303 for my after market fender (Hurricane) and it works great
Several folks have suggested that. I will have to try it out one time!
303 just washes off...
By any chance does this product also remove stains from your trim? My Jeep’s trim has stains that I have washed with multiple different products and so far I have not have any luck. Thanks for the help!!!
Nothing really removes the stains permanently, But I started using Tire Foam on my plastic fenders. I spray it on and when the white foam starts to turn clear I wipe it down with a mircro fiber cloth.
thank you so much jeep momma!!
I just tried this on one side of my rubicon Friday and it seemed like a lot of the clean look went away over night. Has anyone else had this issue? I just did it again on one side. I scrubbed the crap out of it this time. Hopefully it takes better
Jamie Lane I’ve been using tire foam lately. Check out my Top 5 clean hacks video.
I have used the pink erasers on a 06 honda crv and 99 f150 platic black trim, wax comes right off.. Might be a different material on a jeep.. Also Ive had good luck with Magic eraser for wax as well.
I tried several times and no such luck. It just made it worse. I'm glad it worked for you!
Magic eraser great for stains on plastics no it'll leave scratches bad scratches
I was using this stuff. Now I hate it. The fenders look worse now than before after wheeling. Set in mud stains...it sucks. Every time you use this stuff it looks good a little bit, but then your fenders look a bit worse after back to black has worn off. I'm going to paint them with Duplicolor's Premium Acrylic Enamel Spray. I did my grill with this stuff and it came out awesome. I cleared it after, and it is amazing.
I didn't think of spray paint!
Thanks! Didn’t think to use a wire brush with that product def going to use it for my next car show!
Your Welcome! Good Luck!
Do t use a wire brush nooooo plasic bristle only
I cringed hard when I saw the wire brush. Watch that paint! 😧
That looked like a plastic brush, sounded like it too.
I'm off to get some Mother's B to B! Thanks!
Shelly Webster good luck
Specifically Adams polished brand it’s amazing stuff
Good to know I will have to check into it! Thanks
Chemical Guys Tire and Trim Gel. Last for a a month or so before I reapply. Works great.
Thanks for sharing I will check it out!
I’ve seen a lot about Chemical Guys. Does their trim gel remove stains?
Superb video, thank you!
Thanks! I hope it helped you.
@@JeepMomma yes it performed exactly like you illustrated! Very helpful!
@@StephenDavis-hl8bo Glad to be able to help!
Would this help for superficial scratches on the fenders?
If they aren't deep? And just for a little while.
How do you get stains off of white painted plastic fender on Jeep?
Hmm??? Let me ask around. Not really sure if it's possible. Mr Clean erasers?
Well I had a detailer try a clay bar but he didn’t want to ruin it. It’s brand new and I’m mad because I got it washed and it was on my fenders when I got home. I’m going to have to go to dealership. I tried Mr Eraser too!
I've seen videos where the Mother's brand came in third place.
What were the other products? I'd like to try them
I use baby oil for my tires and for my trim.
Huh!!! I will have to try that!
Well, indeed it does! Kept me from going out to the store. We'll see how long it lasts though.
Has anyone tried Armour All Tire Foam? I think it works well.
Hmmmm.... I never thought of that! I will try it out next time.
try it on your rear bumper or on an inconspicuous place first. I did that before trying it on my fenders. I didnt use it on the hood locks because they are close to the paint and i wasnt sure if it would mess up the paint. you can see the difference between the unsprayed locks and the fenders.
I have my stock bumper in the attic I believe I could try it on that. Thanks!
excellent! Tape off half to compare and please show us your results. it seems like some years fade more. i see some jeeps with practically white fenders. but id love too see how it works for you.
Good Idea!
Just used wipe new. Worked great.
Kelly Birge never heard if it! I’ll have to look for it.
@@JeepMomma i'm in florida got it in walmart
Just a wipe on no scrubbing
@@kellybirge8017 WOW! I will have to check it out!
Peanut butter surprisingly worked for me
Awesome! Mine just attracted squirrels
Why didn’t you show us on that wax area all you did was the flat fender should of showed up close to the steel
I was using my pressure washer for the first step, then apply product like Armor All Original protectant or Turtle wax plastic and vinyl protectant OR Simoniz ultra protectant for rubber, plastic, vinyl
Exactly what I was looking for this afternoon. I'm going out to buy Back to Black now! Great video by the way Momma! I like your style. I will report back.
You can try tire foam too!
Easiest fix. Get new fenders. Nothing looks worse on a jeep than plastic grey fenders
That's the perfect solution if you can afford it.
that crap doesnt work either.. but your jeep is not that old.. i have an 04 and i had to sandblast and respray them..
Yeah I need to sandblast mine to to rally get rid of the rust. Or move back to COLORADO
I'm glad I was watching and not just listening at 2:23 ;)
LOL!!!
Because you have a clean Jeep to take it off-roading!
Exactly!!!
Idk…the eraser worked wonders for my Jeep plastics!
Maybe I used a crappy eraser
Love that American flag under the grill
So do I. Its from underthesuninserts
Why when someone ask for what works we have to listen to what don’t work before the answer can be told
No one asked me what works. I asked for what works and was told several answers so I was trying them out to see what worked. That was the point of the video. 🤷♀
top coat f11
Any of the products out there for this work. They all don’t last long. Is what it is.
That is true
or you can just take off all the plastic fenders and get some tubular fender flares... lol problem solved! That's what I did with mine :)
damian dominion one day!
I just keep my fenders covered in coal mud... And bounce them off of trees.
That's a good plan!
I drove through something? that left a white "hard water type" spots on front of my Jeep. After a good wash n I used a microfiber cloth and Cowboy Magic! (Yes,I ask my horse if I could borrow a little) It worked on all plastic black areas and was great over metal parts of the wipers, that was covered in this white crust
Peanut oil works for me
I removed my fenders. 1 less thing to worry about.
HaHa! Good Idea!
Get metal fenders. Problem solved.
Ha! I had metal fenders when I had my Sahara. I like the plastic ones better. I am thinking of cutting them.
Jeep Momma ,Yes cut them , you will be glad you did. One of the best “almost free” upgrades you can do. Along with removing the stock plastic rear bumper. And rotating the rubicon sway bar disconnect up to increase clearance
Hopefully this summer I will cut them! I've upgraded my rear bumper already. Can I still use the button if I rotate the sway bar?
Jeep Momma: Yes, you can. Basically rotating it so the plug isn’t hanging low.
Cool! I will look into this... Thanks
Mothers back to black is terrible . Hell armor all restore is better. If you want back to factory. Wipe New beats all the back to blacks
Mother worked well for me. But now I found the best is tire foam on my Fenders!
wd40 is the best I have ever used makes everything black and shine it cleans and turns grey fenders and hard top black again last about 3 weeks or so I use it after each wash which is once a week I buy the gallon of wd40 off of amazon for $17.00 well worth it I have tried everything and for the money wd40 is the best
Hmmm!!! Good Idea!!!
sos pad the back to black
Turtle wax trim restorer
Thanks I might have to check it out!
Taking your word for it! PA coal mines! We will have to rendezvous! Geologist Savant here….
that coal dust stains! The old coal mines make me nervous. you never know when a cave in will happen
lol buy some ceramic coat after spending all the money and taking all that time you only need ceramic coat once . And yes ceramic coat restores black plastic and also protects it from uv rays rain and scratches
Never heard of it!! Thanks for sharing. I will check it out!
She looks like Sarah Connor from terminator.
I was just telling Neil i want to be badass like her
Mothers back to black... busted. (Maybe if jeep is still just under 3 yrs old). Eventually they fade n get gray, and the o ly way is repainting em.. IMO. 😉
LOL! Mine are old and gray. I will have to try it now.
WD 40 works even better and 10 times faster.
IO will have to try that one! Thanks for sharing!
In the end it's a solvent and your fenders are petroleum based which may likely cause the plastic to become brittle and crack over time. Plus it attracts dirt and dust like nothing else.
😅😂
A crummy comercial?
Huh?
Lol … this is a paid advertisement
How Do you figure that? Paid by whom?
@@JeepMomma the product your pushing duhh
@@infjay777 well you are absolutely wrong! I purchased that product with my own money. I have never been contacted by the company. I would state that in the video if I did.
@@JeepMomma I believe you, but Mother's should really hire you because this video is spot on for a commercial. Thanks for sharing!
@@jlang8213 thanks! It works good
