Cutting a large quartz gemstone.

- This video demonstrates the cutting and polishing of a faceted gemstone. Im using a faceting machine to cut the angles on the stone called facets. Light reflecting off the facets and thru the stone from the bottom and the top create the brilliance.
I use an ultra tec v2 faceting machine with a digital angle readout .

I used a polished quartz sphere for cutting this gem , being already polished made it easy to examine for inclusions and the round shape made the rough cutting a little easier.
I used a bob keller faceting diagram for this gem and it can be found at his website: www.rockhounds.com at times the site has exceeded its monthly bandwith allotment so you might have to try back later to access his site.

Another wonderful video! A great job cutting and polishing that complex cut. I loved the turntable shots of the stone at the end and I think you should show all the stones you cut that way.
