My Mother was in Hospital in South Australia and the Nurse assigned to her came from Cappoquin in County Waterford, which coincidentally was My Mother’s hometown.
You never cease to amaze me Adrian. You did a fine job hanging that gate and the welding job looks fantastic
A very talented guy you are Adrian, where did you learn all the fabrication, engineering skills and knowledge you have???
Great video Adrian, serious job ya did there. Think a sign saying ‘CAVAN PEN’ would top the whole job off 😂👍🏻
Brilliant job Adrian i also follow your videos from Perth Western Australia
Top class job Adrian and im sure even the Aussie copper would approve lol
My father used to say " it's a small world, but I wouldn't like to paint it with a 2 inch brush" . Great job Adrian
Aye "or push a peanut around it with your nose".
Very professional finish.
I’m one of those people that loves work. I could watch it all day and your great videos fit the bill😂 great work Adrian.
What a great story! Hello Finbar 👋
You're right Adrian, big but small world.
(Also hello to Bord Bia from Suzanne (ex NSF admin))
Wonder whether I used to talk to your Bord Bia man on the phone, Adrian 😀
It is so great to see the thought and pride you put into your projects.
It is so nice to see a mid week video. You should teach the daughters how to put together a video so you can upload more. But I suppose your filming takes time too. What's up with the cottage? Is it done and rented yet?
Lastly, have you ever thought about making a video of your funny outtakes?
Great to hear from you. Enjoy the milking break. Hopefully you will be able to get away for a little bit with your ladies. That would be great for your family.
being watching your videos now for a while a little behind in keeping up with your posts but i have to say i'm well impressed with your mad skills the way you turn your hand to anything plus i understand too you have to be with the cost of everything ... love the videos keeps me grounded and also thinking about home
Nice tidy job on fitting the calving gate, especially extending the barrier.
We fitted the old crush gate to calving pen when we upgrade the crush and it worked very well, cheaper too. Best to check how you can open the locking bar if the cow goes down. They should have a quick release pin to prevent choking.
Would be cool to show your welding setup some day. What rods you use and amps etc.
YOU did a first class job there, very neat and tidy .
You have a great knack for making these jobs look so simple. Great fabrication and a very interesting video Adrian.
Great job Adrian. Impressed by the amount of tools you have - makes the job much easier. Only question is why not have a dedicated spanner for the gate hinges? I have - saves knuckles 😹
You make everything look so easy! A great video, very interesting to watch. I love your channel and never miss an episode despite the fact that I’m not a farmer and live in da Smoke. Keep up the great work 👌☘️☘️🇮🇪☘️☘️
Nice fabricating Adrian. That was such a cool small world story.
I’m From Ontario, Canada. I was travelling through Texas with some friends in the late 80’s, and we were pulled over by a local. He’d seen the Ontario plates, and wanted to talk. There were 10 million people in the province at the time, and he asked me…”Do you know so and so?”(name withheld to protect the innocent😇). Well wouldn’t you know, they guy he was asking about was a close friend of my brothers. We wound up having dinner at a local restaurant, and having a grand old chat. Kind of mind blowing that on a continent with a population of about 300,000,000, we could connect, just because he’d seen Ontario plates and had a longing to talk to someone from his original home town. Yes, it also turns out I was familiar with who he was after we’d gotten to talking.
Adrian, you’re so right, it is a Big world, but sometimes it’s also a very small world at the same time.
Nice work! That turned out really well! You've got some talent there! We used to eat something or drink milk before welding anything that had a galvanized coating on it, as the fumes are poisonous. We were taught that it cuts down on the absorption of the fumes. I'm not quite sure how though, but I never got sick when we took that preventive measure. Anyway... thanks for the video! Stay Safe Folks!!!
Thanks for the show Adrian 🍻 🇦🇺
Adrian as I said before your absolute tonic to the mind stay safe sir
Few sheets of stockboard on that front gate would be ideal now and keep any draft off the cows and calf’s when calving
Ya im a big fan of stockboard and not a fan of draughts.
I’m Wicklow farmer out here living in Perth working in the mines the past few months watching you’re videos keeps the farming bug entertained while out here for me 😂😂 keep up the videos
Ya wont find till your getting your silver play button 👍
Comment for the algorithm to help the channel 👍.
Hi Adrian I have a video of our calving setup on my channel if you're interested. We have the capability to swing the calving gate to either side to not have to shift cattle when calving. It's unreal for us getting calves to suck and safety is so so much better than it was before! Our gates are Condon engineering though and they can extend our for better leverage
As ever, a job properly done that not only looks tidy but aesthetically pleasing as well! Adrian may or may not realise it, but he also has a good eye for design, as well as his fabrication skills.
Great video Adrian, tidy job on the gate ! Good idea to save bits & pieces. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video Adrian tidy job 👏
Adrian, excellent job and your safety is first class. Keep leading on this, everybody should be following, stay safe.
Love watching your channel, farmers are the real Jacks of all trades … can do anything…my great grandfather also came from Cavan
♥️
Very useful but surely Bord Bia's remit is food quality? Are they also taking on health and safety?
Great fabrication work.
That was a very enjoyably and entertaining video lad. Well done.
Very tidy job Adrian, is that a combi battery drill you are using. Going to buy a battery impact drill & ordinary one & looking for recommendations & no better man to guide me
Really nice work Adrian, well done as always, love your videos
Another tidy job Adrian , looks good .
Adrian it is wonderful to see someone able to do his own work with such skill I loved the video as usual it was edge of the seat entertainment Thank you so much for bringing such honest endeavour to the channel It is important to keep a backup of bits of steel you never know when you will need a piece I hope that you and your family have a joyous Christmas and every good wish for 2024 A Rossie Farmer
That’s not just a calvin’ gate, Adrian. It’s a CAVAN calvin’ gate. 😂😂
A tasty safe job .at that sort of stuff at home here look a a couple of tube notching videos, makes the job very strong and quick 👍🏿
Thanks for sharing Adrian ! What a great place you have, lots of work. Take care
Great Job Adrian, when did calving gates become mandatory? It is definitely a good idea and safer
Looks very good Adrian. Work well worth doing. Thank you for sharing.🐄
Thank you for sharing Adrian 👍♥️ That was so interesting, and you certainly are a man of many talents 👍❤
Well Adrian, Lovely weather now , might dry the ground hopefully, great welding at ur gates, great video, chat soon, kieran from Laghey donegal town
Fair play to you, you could weld the crack of dawn
You’re wasted as a farmer !! I could do with you on an engineering site 😎 mighty job
A Cavan gate isn’t cheap.. we’ve an old Mikita 9” grinder with an old tie rod screwed in for the handle.. dims the lights in the shed and the kick out of it when ya work up the nerve to squeeze the trigger. Never fails tho. They should be banned. Great work 👍
Adrian I am also watching you in Perth Australia. World famous 😂
id love to know how to weld , plenty of bits to do on every farm
Your calving gate looks good. Your work is always neat and tidy. Another job well done.
Awesome video great job on the gate
You always amaze me with how you can fabricate anything you need. So much fun to watch!!!
Tidy job Adrian. 🏴
Always looking to improve and make better , you so remind me of meself 👍
Smashing job on the calving pen, you'd think it was like that from day 1,taught it very funny when you mentioned your cavan gate was complete 😂😂
I love your videos so much, they are so informative even to the layman/laywoman + you are always showing us how to mend or service quads, tractors etc. Take care & God bless
I’ve just injured my leg I’m stuck in for a week could do with few more of your videos
Cracking video. You’d definitely mcgyver a run for his money
Great job
Tidy job Adrian- and no half measures taken. Top job.
Everything you do is done perfectly and you just get on with it
Great video Adrian great man to weld
Great job Adrian 👍
Some boy with a grinder Adrian. Great neat work. 👌🏻
Hi Adrian. We have the same problem with our welding masks. We have started keeping ours on a sunny window sill to keep the little batteries charged up between uses. Thanks for videos, I really enjoy them. Paul👍
Top job Aidrian , that gate will make calving your cows safe and comfortable 👍
You mr new box ticking gate isn’t a lot different from your old system apart from the headstock. You made a fine job of fitting it though Adrian and we’d expect no less. 👍
his worked fine. They'll say what tractor is needed next other ones are no good
Important to have the height of calving gate the right height for a section - not saying it isnt😂
Very nice project. I am surprised that you have farm inspectors that look at gates.
Great job Adrian, hi to Finbar in Derry from Belfast
You are always improving your facilities to make it better for your girls ie the cows.
Nice bit of welding, that new gate isnt going anywhere. 👍
That's a grand job Adrian,nice bit of fabricating👍
Thanks for sharing Adrian !
The auto welding helmets also have a small battery inside they need replacing every now and again , this should be your problem!! 😊
I love watching your fabrication and adaptation videos. 👍😊👍
I like it😊. Very efficient. It meets the requirements of function first followed by form. KUDOS
Thanks Adrian another great video. Proper construction /engineering. Great upgrade.
Adrian, what electrode holder do you use on the welder? I have the standard clamp that came with the welder but it’s no good!
Great video. Learn something new every day
Great video . Where you get them drill bits ?? Would they drill through H iron
I like the ammo box there fierce handy
Enjoyed watching you work on the cattle chute! Never seen that gate before and thanks for explaining to us! Looking very fine, that cattle barn!
Hi Adrian what drill bits did you use for gate pin holes ? thanks
Was going to asks same question
Good tidy job Adrian if you are ever looking for a start give me a shout .
Great stuff Adrian, Where did you get that hole saw kit it looks to be a great job! And what kind of welder do you have? I'm on the lookout for one of them too as mines on it's last legs! Mayo man myself
Tidy bit of work Lad, as usual!
Really nice to see your upgrades.
Great work with it
Maybe Adrian or some of his followers can answer..
What height off ground should calfing gate be when hung?
And what distance away from Wall with cow in behind it?.
Many thanks
Good job Adrian . Nice infromative video.
Great job adrain and fine job no bother to ya
Nice welding there, that's a fine gate
good job adrian ur some man off many talents
Good job Ian,well done.
Great bit of fabrication Adrian... just 1 question what nake are the hole saws you used too make a hole on the new gate post...looked too do it easily
Very good looking job there and your efforts for weighing up the best location seemed spot on. Well done.
Only thing I would possibly add could you use the other gate fittings locations in the back wall as somewhere to install a couple of rings in each pen that you might tie up an animal to on a halter or even hang a hay net. its obvious there is plenty of other suitable metal work elsewhere in each pen for this purpose so perhaps not.
Another great video Adrian nice job on the new gate 👍👍👍
