Real irony is the claim to be undercover and they exposed themselves because a man with a camera meandered passed. They could have stayed in their nearly blacked out SUVs and would have saved them exposure and any embarrassment but no, their god complex strikes again. To be honest I doubt they are working UC, unmarked and UC are in many locations two very different classes of police work. UC usually won’t even dress in the police gear, maybe a vest but mostly try to look civilian in case they have to separate from their vehicle and follow on foot but a UC vehicle may not even have lights on them, looking at 3/4 of the cars there there’s cherries and berries. So def in my opinion an unmarked unit of police working something. Also in what world would a UC work with 4-6 unmarked cars gathered on a private side road? That’s sus at best.

This is the problem with police in this country. I’m not against the police and overall they provide an essential service in our society but the way they are trained is a major failure. How is it that a person that is supposed to uphold the law doesn’t even know or respect those laws? People are arrested every day for trying to assert rights that are clearly granted to them by our constitution and that’s not ok. They operate under this idea that they’ll just arrest you and let the court settle it out. ANY amount of time you spend being detained or arrested is a violation of your rights and an abuse. We don’t need defunding of police we need a re-education of police.

The number 1 most infuriating thing I hate about the average police officer in this country is the condescending way they speak to citizens. Whether they’re right or wrong. Whether said citizen they are investigating is being polite or not, they always feel the need to assert their authority while speaking down to everyone as if we were children. I’ve experienced it myself firsthand. All while I was being nothing but extremely polite and respectful to them in return. I filed a report on him and his supervisor showed up at my door early in the am the next day asking me to explain to him why I filed the report. He said there have been multiple complaints about this officer but a year later I still saw him out there harassing people. In fact, he was screaming at some old lady he pulled over who went through a blinking crosswalk after the person who was using it was already a good 15 yards past it altogether. Same thing pacing, screaming making a scene...
Thinking I should have just pulled out the phone and hit record no matter the consequences... People like these cops in the video and the one that I spoke of need to be held accountable. The very fact that the officer said "impeding" rather than using a legal term might just mean he was speaking generally. Not every single word in a police interaction has to be analyzed in terms of statutes. They're people, too. He might have just meant that this guy fishing for trouble-purposefully acting in a way that he knew would bring suspicion upon himself and then arguing confrontationally with the cops-was getting in the way of them doing their actual job. Same as if someone came over to my desk at work, started taking pictures of my desk until I asked them wtf they're doing, then argued with me about it, and continued to argue with me about it until I said "screw off, you're impeding me getting work done". It's like the auditing community and society at large forget that cops are people, too, believing that they don't deserve common decency as soon as they put on their uniform. As long as rude or belligerent behavior is directed at cops, these "auditors" claim they're being perfectly respectful and get outraged that their hostility is met with hostility. And then this otherwise awesome channel promotes such escalatory behavior with cops by grading it with an A.
I respect the mission proclaimed by auditors. I do not respect the execution in the majority of cases. And I sure as hell do not respect promoting the behavior to millions of normal / casual viewers as an A+ way of interacting with cops. It's a great way to ensure that the police and civilians stay at each other's throats.
