I am not saying that the all reviewers and the ones I've talked about are bad intended or missleading , I know that they need to be "company friendly" but that's not the way. But please don't tell us viewers its good or bad after couple of hours/days with the camera without testing it in real life situations with all kinds of lenses/combos.
Your test shots of that girl looked like the camera was pretty close. What is the minimum focusing distance of that lens? It might need to be more in the medium range of the lens to get different results too. I think those Fuji lenses have different performance through range but I could be wrong
Thanks for sharing my test, I always try to show real life, honest AF performance. Fujifilm's AF for still photos is pretty good now, but for video they still need to do some work.
My take with camera AFs right now is fuji's good enough(cinematic videos where you are really careful and planning your shots.) and sony's is so godlike you can go full ham (even kids and dogs with erratic movements)
Congratulations on being one of the very few on CZcams telling the truth. These people are not product reviewers, they are Influencers or more appropriately subversive sales people. If they tell the truth, no more products to review for them. It is not only the camera industry now. Pretty much all CZcams "reviewers" are simply indirectly selling products to you. No more believable than the old used car salesman. Keep up the honesty, well done!!
I think the af detection settings are the way. If you read some of the settings description they tell you how they are situational. I think the problem with fuji af are the expectations of people after seeing the AF from sony. Couple the wrong setting with some lens that have horrible focus breathing then the algorithm goes whack. Also the latest xh2s firmware is very broken right now
Yep, Fujifilm isn't good with autofocus, and I can confirm this as I've used multiple bodies over the years as a paid photographer. Why did I stick to Fujifilm then? Because I prefer all the other aspects of their cameras, and I use manual focus. And yes, I shoot stills, and video isn't important to me. The way I work isn't affected by autofocus of any sort. Cheers
I looked at all the reviews on fuji, and bought the x-s20 instead of the sony FX30 for commercial work (video only). Now every shoot I do is stressful. You always have to shoot more, because half of the shots will be bad. It's good that I'm not filming weddings, I would definitely miss an important moment that can't be reshot. Otherwise, it's a great camera (for photo).
How do you feel about IBIS in slow handheld shots with X-S20? I have attached to it praised for OIS 16-80 and I feel like its fighting against those small arm movements but in theory its Camera IBIS and lens OIS so should work!
Edvard, THANK YOU for this video. Finally someone on CZcams has balls to tell the truth about YT talking heads "V.I.P." reviewers. 99% of them are nothing more than liars, who only care is to You use their affiliate link in the discription, to buy a camera gear from their lame reviews. I do also loose quite a lot of money, because I did buy camera gear based on YT talking head reviewers, who praised newly released gear to high heavens. But never again, I will never again belive any YT review I watch. You and very few other, are rare exceptions, and You gained a lot in my eyes. Respect bro, and keep up with this! I'm waiting for Your another excellent video 👌😉
Nice video. Keep em coming. As a mere consumer interested in camera tech, i appreciate people popping the hype bubble surrounding new (and not so new) product launches.....but totally respect and will always take heed to the real reviewers like Gordon, ChrisAndJordan, Dustin and others....
This is the truth, almost all content creators are dishonest. Gerald Undone just released a video on this problem and why it occurs, and the companies are to blame as well. My advice is to fully take advantage of the return policy. Extensively test the product during that return window and if it doesn’t deliver send it back.
Most CZcamsrs copy each other. Even this video is copying what Gerald did. Its getting boring now. Most content creator's don't have any creative ideas they just simply copy each other.
@@orinorio1 not many creators are critical by default. Most are agreeable and balance pros with cons. This guy is predominantly critical and points out the faws others either misrepresent or gloss over. Another reviewer that comes to mind is Camera Conspiracies. He has no allegiance when it comes to gear.
@@orinorio1 I can t say I copied Gerald Undone, He inspired me do to this video , He is one of few who says the true things , He’s the only one who said Xh2s af that is bad on video while other reviewers said “It has caught up with the competition”
Hey Edvard, I really like the tone of your video and the politeness with subtle disappointment (that is very natural). Great honest well deserving feedback video for our great youtube community. Kudos! \m/
Man, I can relate to this. When I was looking to buy S5IIX, no one mentioned the audio issues I ran into after purchase. So I made my own video documenting it, and judging from the comments, I wasn't alone in this. Yet not one big CZcamsr or online publication has covered this manufacturing defect to this date.
Thanks for bringing the light on Fujifilm autofocus problem, Can you please do a video comparing the XS20 and A6700 please, there are no youtubers that go into detail like you
Totally with you! I binged every X-H2S review on CZcams before deciding if it was worth it for hybrid shooting (mostly for video). Ended up buying it, used it for one project, then sold it off 😅. So many reviewers are just hype machines, spouting whatever brands want us to hear instead of giving the real lowdown.
This video made me a subscriber, because you tell it like it is! This is exactly the way 'big CZcamsrs' tend to review things. In fact they are smooth talking sales representatives. Thank you for your fairness and honesty.
I don’t typically waste my time to defend myself. But in terms of that xh2s video and the autofocus hunting if you actually watch the full video till the end I talk about how much hunting the autofocus has. Taking one clip out of context takes all the hard work I do and throw it out the window. Here is the que part of the video where I talk about autofocus for anyone that cares czcams.com/video/bI7oLmbvHnE/video.htmlsi=uVPlV_suPYpldmTL&t=440
@@edvard2942 It's all good. I put a lot of effort into these videos, if it's a review or a first look and I always approach things from honesty and what Im seeing from tests or things I catch in the moment. I get nothing from lying or faking something and neither does the viewer. But I am human and I will miss things from time to time. Im not perfect.
This is why I subscribed instantly after watching your practical fuji autofocus test, man it’s almost impossible to find creators like you. Camera conspiracies is another one.
I subscribed with notifications enabled. Thank you for being objective and unbiased. There are too many youtubers trying to chase views and revenue instead of the audience's best interests. Keep up the great work!
I hear you... but I think reviewers should also mention their camera Settings and Auto Focus settings. I personally haven't suffered from hunting when doing head shots with my X-H1. (Don't believe me, go to my channel). Most of my videos shot with the X-H1 is with the Auto Focus ON and I don't get such horrible hunting like you have experienced. Sorry to hear about your experience. With that said, I'm a firm believer in Manual Focusing for critical shoots (when Manual focusing is an option). Looking forward to the comparison video!
Camera reviews are all a joke. If you rely on YT you will be lost in the dark sooner or later. Fujifilm AF sucks and has always been as far as I can remember. I love my X-H2S, but it's a shame Fujifilm still doesn't seem to bother how bad their AF actually is compared to other brands. On the other hand, no brand is absolutely perfect. The perfect camera doesn't exist. But that's a whole other story.
i use a fuji x-t20 with the xf 18-55mm lens. Since I mostly do medium paced street photography, I use the zone focusing and the autofocus is spot on I'd say 89% of the time but yes I totally agree that it can still be improved and definitely not in par with sony or canon
As someone using Sony I obviously could be stamped as a shill, but it couldn't be further from the truth. I have started on Lumix, then used Nikon, went back to Lumix, learn in the Studio on Fuji, bought a Sony, bought a Fuji and then upgraded my Sony twice. That said, I have to defend Sony. Hear me out and skip to the last paragraph if you really don't want the "rant". "Skintone issues" are such a BS claim, sorry. Tony Northrup did a blindtest when the A7rii was around and Sony won on "pleasant colors". Ok, TN is sensationalistic some might say, so let's move on. Gerald Undone did colorchart tests with scientific color patches and such and Sony constantly did have pretty good colors. I'd take that at heart as I believe he does through videos and actual fact based tests. But he's also a CZcamsr, so why trust him? Well, I had 3 Sonys myself and other cameras around. Skintones were never an issue. People complained, but really, because some used it in a way that makes sense, but actually leads to the issue: and that is Adobe. In LR you set your profile to "Camera Standard", because that's how every brand does it, right? Well, not with Sony - because Adobe profiles for Sony do suck and give bad skintones. That is 100% true. But if you use Adobe standard, Capture One or a linear response profile for your RAW, you wouldn't have any of those issues. Ok, so now I got hung up on color, but what else was there? Menus? Yeah, not the best, but subjective. It's fair to criticise them and saying "noone mentioned them" couldn't be further from the truth. EVERYONE complained about them rightfully so - and so they also did about the skintones. This wasn't a secret. WB issues didn't matter for most, but are fair. In RAW it doesn't matter and in video you should use manual WB anyway. But ok, point taken. Same with the LCD. They're bad, point made. But a LOT of people ripped on them and I wouldn't say reviewers kept this info secret. The Fuji AF rant is warranted, but I don't feel like "everyone" is sweeping it under the rug. Pointing improvements is fair and I think there are points to be made, but I agree a lot of them went overboard when comparing it. By a lot. Lastly, coming back to the S9, I see a lot of people complaining that "pros with lots of gear try to talk bad a camera made for beginners", but what is really their interest? For a lot of reviewers it seems to put gas in this fiery battle. "The R1 is a Sony killer!" / "The S9 is the best new street photo camera!" / "Z6III will destroy Lumix sales!" etc. etc. etc. In the end, isn't pointing out flaws and "worse value" a act of protecting buyers? If I tell a beginner his chosen option is bad, is it because I want them to buy something more expensive (where I don't even profit from) or because I want them to not get frustrated when stuff like hotshoes, mechanical shutters or an EVF are missing? Are reviewer's really out for sales they don't get a cut? I don't think so. So saying only 1% told You about the bad Fuji AF or noone talked about Sony issues seems hyperbolic... But maybe I just watch the 1% you mentioned and that's fair. A lot of reviews are from people that never held more than 2-3 different models in their hands and with luck they're from different brands. Good reviews are indeed a rarity, though there's plenty people I'd say one can trust, but most issues you said were kept a "secret" were, to my knowledge at least, openly communicated by a lot of people. But as Gerald Undone said in one of his recent videos: There's a lot of people pleasers out there now and the ones the reviewers often want to please the most are the brands offering them samples. I appreciate your video, but at the same time I feel like the rant you had overstayed its welcome (and so did mine). You had good points, but some just don't check out with my experience. And maybe that's more on me than you - so all in all fair game. It's good to speak up about this, but I think you went a bit too far beyond by basically putting everyone in a box.
Thanks for the reply, ok skintones are subjective, But for the other things I was talking are about this sony issues czcams.com/video/SYw3JFmv-VM/video.htmlsi=XXYEpBMF1lTs8mtH . And I didnt say everyone is doing the same thing. But most of the reviews are the same.
nowadays there's multiple user reviewing with their own style. I know who to look for first sneak peak view, or different person for general review, another for in-depth review, person that compares with my existing gears, and long term review. There's also plethora of resources on raw files, studio image comparison, user pics with data etc.. I find it weird now suddenly it's a problem when new gear announced and people hypeing it, it's their job anyway?? I watch review, get their insight, do my homework, compare specs, go to actual store, get a feel and then test it before committing it. And I suggest this step to other friends that want to buy camera gear, so far unless they quit photography or other similar hobby no one complaining
Great video - I think you pressed the right button. Scrolling through the comments, though, I think we should keep in mind that not all content creators are lying. As stated in Gerald Undone’s video, there are reasons for lacking launch-day videos and I can understand it. On the other hand, MKBHD does a great thing where he only makes a “First Impressions” or “Hands on” video at launch day and a full review follows later. I think camera youtube can learn from this approach. Furthermore, if a video drops on launch day, how realistic is the expectation to be watching an in-depth review? This doesn’t mean I want to blame the viewers. To reiterate, maybe these videos just shouldn’t be packaged as reviews.
Great points. For AF Sony is always leading. That said I have a bunch of Fuji's and the AF even on the xtrans4 and xtrans5 doesn't come close to being industry leading as you highlight correctly. I personally always use gear for at least 6 months. So first review and then the one year later
Sounds like you've found a testing focused niche to create content about that can help people in your previous situation. Fill the gaps you see in the video space. 👍 That's the great thing about CZcams. The distinction I try not to cross is related to intent and perceived intent of creators. For example, I personally do what I reasonably can with videos I make and try to watch my wording, but there are limits to the amount of time I can spend. It otherwise quickly turns into endless projects. I often focus on my own uses cases because those are ones I can best cover. If it overlaps with what viewers are looking for, then awesome. Otherwise people with that gear too should consider filling the gaps.
On what i agree with you here - this army of bloggers dont want and dont need to make a detailed and quelity reviews anymore. They just scared to show and tell the truth because brands wont send them new cameras for reviews :(
Excellent video. I bought a S5IIX 6 months ago, based in reviews. Fortunatelly it´s an awesome camera. I´m really happy. It has its downsides, but for my workflow it´s perhaps perfect. But before that I was tempted to go for the R6 (I was a Canon fan for years) and I trully realized that until now, in the media gama, Canon have not nailed with any mirrorless camera. Because perhaps they´re too much simple for the advanced user...and those cameras are "nerfed" in my opinion. All of the Canon Cameras. But the reviewers of Canon always said those cameras are the best. Barelly talk about the overheating on R5 (and R6), the lack of recording formats, the wabbling od the edges in stabilization...etc. Never. So about the S9 for me it´s just a cheaper version of the S5II and S5IIX, as a B cam or for traveling. And it´s simple to use and even give you a finished (baked in cam) files. And this is the way they´re supposed to sell it. New suscriber here! Waiting for your next video bro.
Thanks for your videos, this needs to be said. I used to have the XT4 and was ready to throw it in the garbage for the crappy auto focus. But heavily invested in all the lenses, I opted to buy the XT5 after extremely careful study. This is what I found, but take it only from a photographer as I don’t do video. If you buy linear motor lenses, the auto focus is great, but be advised I’m not using eye/face recognition, just general shooting at custom number one setting. I’m getting the best auto focus shots ever, which is not saying it’s up to Sony or canons level, just that it’s way above what it used to be. Although you can get pretty good results with linear motor lenses with the XT4, the XT5 is better. For nonlinear motor lenses I would use the limit focus built into the camera body, 6.5 to infinity is a good place to start. I am doing mostly street photography.
bro ate it... Btw What about canon and nikon do they have any problem ? Please make a review about things that the reviewers don't tell us about the camera brands and tell us every bad thing about each camera company that you have faced and experienced
Canon scams people, removes important features from cheaper cameras. No third party lenses, etc. Scam company, but professionals like it because they buy the latest and greatest.
What i remembered, when fuji eye focus box was track. It mean he tried to focus, sometimes its not. Its around eye area, but not the eye. But still love my fuji.
The S9 definitely changes everything for me. I'm disgusted by what I saw in the reviews, and keep reading that they were 'balanced' reviews hahaha. Only very minor mentions about banding, no flash photos and almost EVERY photo example was shot during midday SUN or super slow shutter speed at night. I feel they were hiding the camera flaws on purpose. I love your videos so far Edvard!!! Bravo!
Edvard, do you think Panasonic has reached the autofocus quality of Sony or Canon? I'm not looking for a camera primarily for video, but more for photography.
Just remember wave of youtubers praising Sony A7iii and its 4k recording. None of them mentioned that Sony A7iii has crop in 4k recording at 30fps and only at 24fps full frame coverage. Anyway all big youtubers are brand promotors not honest tech journalist.
I use a Fujifilm XT3 for sports, family, and portrait photography. The autofocus does occasionally miss, but almost all of my photos are in focus. My only complaint with the XT3 is its low-light performance - there is a lot of noise at high ISO. Otherwise, I'm happy.
That's why, reviews aside, I stuck with Olympus (now OM). I had a track record with them, that every next camera will be better than the previous one. They had their share of mistakes over the years, but never failed me. Watching reviews from time to time is fun, but taking pictures with a tool that you can rely on is even better.
If you manage to keep integrity and stasy relevant(mostly just survive) You might very well be the next Review Goat for cameras eventually. I suspect you will have to buy or rent cameras, or get them in other ways, because is very unlikely that marketing divisions are going to send you any(and maybe is easyer for you to if it remains that way)
When I bought my Nikon Z5, every reviewer on CZcams said the autofocus was horrendous 😢. The autofocus on the Z5 shoots some of the sharpest photos I have ever seen. Yes, it can't shoot sports but it's not meant for sports. The reviewers made it seem like they were miles behind. I'm glad that I didn't listen to them.
Bro it is miles behind. Z5 af the youtubers were not wrong. You need try a cheap as Canon RP from an even older sensor to realize how bad Z5 af is. RP at dim light, tracking movement no problem. Z5 hunting non stop until it gives up
@@frankluo230yes it is but there are a lot factors to consider. One R5 can buy four Z5s. The eye autofocus on the Z5 is miles better than what we had in the best dslr. My explanation is that you would think from reviewers that you are not going to capture any decent photos with the Z5 because of the autofocus. The don't talk about the unbelievable dynamic range, amazing colors etc. My comments are on using both for photos. For video of course the R5 is miles miles better.
@@MELAVINKING I used FM2 F801s in SLR era and from D70 in DSLR. I get what you mean it is better than best of DSLR eye tracking. But comparison is its performance vs rivals from competing brands. You can't say because even the most entry level Acer office laptop can edit 4k video and better than what was available 10years ago that it is not miles behind M3 Macbook pro in 4k editing.
Hola hermano, buenas.
I get all of what you are saying but planning to compare a knowingly flawed firmware update with another camera doesn't seem like a fair comparison. The initial firmware AF of the X-H2s was leagues over the X-T4 and X-S10. It got worse with later updates . When did you get your X-H2s ? What firmware was the first one you updated to when you got it ? I had no issues with f1.4 initially on my Viltrox 13 and sigma 56. Now it's bad I can admit. Very frustrating for the cost. I really hope they fix this soon. It looks bad on them. They don't need to put out another camera for a while . They need to fix these issues. It's unacceptable. Am I switching , nah I'm not. At least not fully. I do have an A7 IV already but it's mainly for paid gigs which I have one coming up in June. I'll probably still take my X-H2s as a second camera .
Hi Edvard- to be clear, the AF you are talking about is AF while taking video? I tried the X-T50 at a Fuji event at a local dealer and the AF was pretty good (but I am not talking about video but stills). I was able to re-create the issue of having a closer object part-covering your face and even though the camera does seem to find the eye, it often focused in the hand. But other than that it seemed pretty good- again, stills not video. Didn't try video. I want to make clear: I am not trying to shoot down your experience at all. Just wanted to make sure I can double check you are talking about video. I am personally sick of people who are influencers that make claims that are not quite right, as you are pointing out in this video.
The 1 good thing about the S9 is that it focused attention on the youtube reviewers. When a manufacturer produces a camera that is so completely, woefully inadequate in so many areas and yet gets rave reviews, there has to be a problem with those reviewers. When you then find out that those reviewers were hand picked by the manufacturer and given an all expenses trip to Japan, the level of coercion becomes obvious.
I have been looking at cameras for the past month or so, after putting the photo hobby away for a long time. The products on the market are damn confusing. And so were the influencer reviewers. I've been very sceptical the whole time after getting burnt on the Canon G7X mark III hype. Focusing was bad but got better, but like after a couple of years of owning the camera.. So I updated it with the latest firmware, but they have "focus mode 1 and 2" couldn't they call it smooth and fast ? and with the improved firmware, the settings was still defaulting to the horrible slow focus setting. It doesn't last very long on a battery. Has record limits. It has a mic input, which was one of the main features I wanted to not go through the pain in post of aligning audio recordings with the video, but audible electrical noise quite annoying. A comment on a video I made said I can use my h1n zoom as mic amp before connecting it to the camera. That can work.. but still it doesnt make the camera any better. They say the best camera is the one you take with you. I currently don't with this one. I'm on the fence of getting a Fujifilm XT-5. Now I'm not sure. Though I will probably not shoot video (or weddings lol) at F1.4 anyway. And the images and colors look fantastic. I have a EF lenses and FD and FL lenses (manual focus) that I'd like to try with a converter.
Reviewers never mentioned the stairstep aperture changes in the Fuji X-T3 auto exposure video mode, other cameras don't have that limitation - they have infinitely smooth transitions.
Panasonic should have aimed their product at the Sony A7c Mark II. I recently bought the Fujifilm for auto eye detection, and I am sitting a bit regretful about that decision.
Louder for the people in the back!! But please slow down on the release! I still haven't sold all my Fuji kit! Your videos might blow out and Fuji fanboys might catch up hahahahahaha. One good thing about Fuji at the moment is that they have such a cult following that is so contagious that the value of the gear either go up in value or don't go down at all - I sold an old X-T2 and X-E3 with a 27 2.8 non wr and was able to purchase a Canon R6 with the money which is probably the best decision I have ever made. The Canon R6 AF is alien technology compared to Fujifilms top cameras (i only do photos so don't come at me about 4k overheating issues)
Nope , it doesnt, the issue is in the af system. In this video at 2:45 he is using the new 16-50 2.8-4.8 LM , people have the same behaviour with LM fuji lenses.
Yup i can attest to this. Couple the wrong lens with the setting you choose for the goal you are trying to achieve then its really going to be painful. Sony's algorithm is mostly automatic while Fuji's would require some planning like theres a very specific combination. But once you get to know how it works you can drive with it. Its just this content creators build this expectations with their X camera feature is better than sony. Nothing can beat the sony, Nikon had to rebuild their system from the ground up just to catch up with sony.
If if you’re using linear motor lenses, you shouldn’t have any issues. But I only do photography. With non-linear motors just put it at 6.5 to infinity, should fix most auto focus issues. I have no complaints since doing this. But again, I don’t use eye/face detection.
Yeah, I upgrade from X-T3 to X-H2S because of review in CZcams too. I'm disappointed with the autofocus, as it was hype. The IBIS is ok. But in the end with such a price tag, I still think the price is not worth to upgrade. However I like how fast the sensor reading and fuji's color. I would use manual cine lens with it. Not going to sell it anyway soon. And about Sony as you've mention, I totally agreed. It's too overhype, almost no youtuber mention its bad side. I use Sony at work (a7sIII, FX9, PXW-Z750). I hate Sony color science!
After Im dont with the videos for it I might sell it and buy and XT3 second hand for 500$ , It is the same image quality, autofocus the same , I mostly use a gimbal so ibis is no issue.
I did not upgrade to firmware 6.0 because everyone is saying that the problem comes with this new update, i use the 5.1 for work almost everyday and It works fine
It’s a strange line to balance. Appearing honest/balanced to the viewers but also loyal to the company that feeds you. I’ve seem a few good videos that seem to have found that sweet spot without appearing like informercials. Canon may not be as “sexy” as these other brands but you can count on their AF. Their slogan should be “AF that’s as good AF” :)
Absolutely agreed. Reviewers aren't using the cameras enough to notice these issues. I'd say Camera Conspiracies is one of the honest reviewers. Gerald Undone does a lot of tests and he didn't get invited to the S9 launch event cause they knew he would talk about the overheating issue.
I bought like this Samsung S24 ultra, watching literally every review and at the end it really disappointed me. I was so shocked why ZERO influencers talked about it's negatives
You can check Damien Bernal's videos. He usually does a running dog AF test. It is quite revealing. When he doesn't, it means the AF sucks. He was invited to the S9 presentation and didn't do the test .
@@CallMeRabbitzUSVI I may have sounded too negative about Bernal's videos. They are really good overall. As an example, he never said the Fuji AF was on par with Canon or Sony.
I think we viewers also need to take some of the slack. I mean... I dunno about you but when a camera is released and within 24hrs you get a dozen 'impressions' videos, I'm certainly not gonna base my decision to buy something that costs several thousand dollars on a 7min impression video! That's why we get 6 month reviews or longer, those are generally much more helpful. You have to remember these people doing these reviews... for some it's their bread and butter. They have to play the algorithm game, release content often, even if its nonsense (like Camera Conspiracies), and anything that comes their way to review or talk about is content to keep the dollars coming in. I don't blame them at all. It's fine for Gerald to rant, he has over 400k subscribers, he has positioned himself so that he doesn't need brands to build his business, it's BUILT ALREADY. He'll get camera gear anytime he wants from someone somewhere and his reputation and review skills are good enough that he'll get the views like he says he does whenever he decides to talk about said gear. But that's not how it is for hundreds of others that are still hustling. But I wonder if he danced to the exact same tune when he was starting out, I doubt it (and he would probably admit that). If a brand sends an item out to you, it's common decency to review it in good light. Say something positive, say something negative (or could be improved), finish on a positive note (much like when delivering constructive criticism). Can't find anything good to say? Send it back and don't do a review, or deliver the honest verdict knowing you are closing a potential door of revenue (folks... this is ALL business). What I find most depressing of all is just the level of information in the reviews. It's the SAME thing being talked about again and again. Because 40min videos don't do well on YT, the reviewers can't really do stuff like take us through the menus (as boring as that might be), that's the kind of gold information I personally am after. I still cannot fathom how not one person who reviewed the XH2S mentioned that we could bind a button to toggle the eye detection from L to R eye, or that eye detection was working on silhouetted subjects -5EV!. Or how a heap of other useful features could now be bound to a button on the camera compared to the fewer options on the XT4. This shit mattered to me... but perhaps I am just weird. So I don't have a problem with reviewers, I see it for what it is, I just think it's a shame that the content feels very flat and basic, very superficial. When I bought my XH2S I spent 3hrs menu diving in the Fujifilm House of Photography, testing it, to make sure the camera would work for me and be a worthy upgrade beyond the XT4. All the reviews I watched beforehand, all thet did for me up until that point was cause my jaw to continually drop that they didn't mention this fact or that (which I was uncovering at the time in the store). Blame YT as well and blame all your lazy assess that don't watch 30-60min videos on YT. Fucking generation instant gratification and zero concentration span! You all try giving reviews in 12mins, it ain't easy!. I only wish more good channels out there existed like Edvard, Robert May etc, the ones that highlight good (and bad) SPECIFIC things. The broad overview stuff that you get a dozen time is the stuff that I find dull af.
As a Fuji user who switched to Sony. The difference is night and day. But for someone like Roman fox who only shoots Fuji and has learned to shoot great videos in spite of how behind the autofocus is compared to Sony. He is giving you a review on how it compares to previous Fuji cameras. His target audience is Fuji shooters. Not you trend hoppers who want the x100vi because you saw it on TikTok. There is no perfect camera and each system has a learning curve. I get you want to be spoonfed but the misconception is you can brand hop with no consequences.
No, he's saying that reviewers say Fuji has caught up with the competition, not that it's better than their previous stuff. And they do. I personally haven't seen any saying that it's better than Canon, but most say it's really close - which it obviously isn't.

😅 I see the reviews at lounch but buy 3 years later!😅😅😅😅 I am safe most of the time.
I am not saying that the all reviewers and the ones I've talked about are bad intended or missleading , I know that they need to be "company friendly" but that's not the way. But please don't tell us viewers its good or bad after couple of hours/days with the camera without testing it in real life situations with all kinds of lenses/combos.
could you make a video about Linux s5ii/s5iiX?
This is actual Panasonic S9 (S5IIX) autofocus switches to contrast af whatewer he wants: czcams.com/video/R0NrX29SqzE/video.html
@@AutospeciLvAkumulatori Interesting , if this guy is right my fujifilm uses almost only contrast af.
Your test shots of that girl looked like the camera was pretty close. What is the minimum focusing distance of that lens? It might need to be more in the medium range of the lens to get different results too. I think those Fuji lenses have different performance through range but I could be wrong

Yes, I agree.
You inspired me. My AF test for my FUjifilm XT5 is coming out soon!
Buii, you are my man, looking forward to your test result 👍
Yaaay 😎 Can’t wait to see
I think the af detection settings are the way. If you read some of the settings description they tell you how they are situational. I think the problem with fuji af are the expectations of people after seeing the AF from sony. Couple the wrong setting with some lens that have horrible focus breathing then the algorithm goes whack. Also the latest xh2s firmware is very broken right now
@@cyb I was coming from a Canon EOS 1200D with contrast based autofocus and I was still disappointed lol.

Pascal Basil is the YT’er you need for XS20 content
Just go manual focus then.

I would not say liars , Just biased with the "new" and if there's something wrong with the gear they try to make it not sound so bad.
First of all, the S9 isn't a JOKE of a camera but certainly most reviewers ARE.

Thanks for bringing the light on Fujifilm autofocus problem,
Can you please do a video comparing the XS20 and A6700 please, there are no youtubers that go into detail like you

Keeping it real man. Subscribed!
Do you have video talk about Nikon?
i guess we're going back to the good old youtube! love it. thanks edvard. love your accent btw h😬😬
And I have subscribed because I’m interested in what you find out!

Sony white balance issues are never talked about out.
It is really good but would take 2-3 years to get there. The S5ii is really good its right up there with Nikon Pre Z9 bodies.
I love the iphone 15 ultra max analogy :)
Bro just called out the entire Influencer industry, love it hahaha.
For me, I sold my XT5 because the AF wasn't as consistent as Sony.
Just remember wave of youtubers praising Sony A7iii and its 4k recording. None of them mentioned that Sony A7iii has crop in 4k recording at 30fps and only at 24fps full frame coverage. Anyway all big youtubers are brand promotors not honest tech journalist.
Haven't returned your XH2S yet? What are you waiting for?
I wil probably sell it after I'm done with all the ranting.
I shoot all my videos on fujifilm XH2S in autofocus. It’s not as good as Sony but it’s close enough. 95% of the time no issue in the field.
Maybe for your usecase its ok, but it is very bad overall.
I use a Fujifilm XT3 for sports, family, and portrait photography. The autofocus does occasionally miss, but almost all of my photos are in focus. My only complaint with the XT3 is its low-light performance - there is a lot of noise at high ISO. Otherwise, I'm happy.
Xh2s is noisier
That's why, reviews aside, I stuck with Olympus (now OM). I had a track record with them, that every next camera will be better than the previous one. They had their share of mistakes over the years, but never failed me. Watching reviews from time to time is fun, but taking pictures with a tool that you can rely on is even better.

@@frankluo230yes it is but there are a lot factors to consider. One R5 can buy four Z5s. The eye autofocus on the Z5 is miles better than what we had in the best dslr. Hola hermano, buenas.
You've come to your senses - good!
As a Fuji X-T5 user, I miss my a6000 😭
I get all of what you are saying but planning to compare a knowingly flawed firmware update with another camera doesn't seem like a fair comparison.

4:35 can't wait! :D
Reviewers never mentioned the stairstep aperture changes in the Fuji X-T3 auto exposure video mode, other cameras don't have that limitation - they have infinitely smooth transitions.
Same as for the newest xh2s , aperture in steps, focus in steps
I like the video, but don't forget, the autofocus pulls depends the lens that you put in front of your camera too
Nope , it doesnt, the issue is in the af system.
Great, welcome to the club
Haha nice, I actually started my CZcams channel because I didn’t trust them 😂
I did not upgrade to firmware 6.0 because everyone is saying that the problem comes with this new update, i use the 5.1 for work almost everyday and It works fine
It does not have the new 6.0 bugs but in video is still bad.
Welp.. you just earned a sub. 😂
Very telling
@@CallMeRabbitzUSVI I may have sounded too negative about Bernal's videos. They are really good overall. As an example, he never said the Fuji AF was on par with Canon or Sony.
Absolute chad!
holy shit, instant sub
@@rains00the how can he when he doesn’t shoot those systems? The autofocus works great in some situations. Canon autofocus is great but they have that jittery background when recording. So that’s the trade off.
😅 I see the reviews at lounch but buy 3 years later!😅😅😅😅 I am safe most of the time.
