... everyone ... stop bashing this guy for picking the short version of the song. This was the 7" single / radio edit of the song. It was not uncommon for the 7" single / radio versions to be edited versions of the longer album versions. And when a record company decided to put out a promo video for a song (later they would be called music videos, but back them, they were called promo videos), they usually used the more well-known and shorter radio version for the video. And that's what we have here... the shorter, more well-known 7" single / radio edit version of the song to go along with the official promo video. So everyone... just chill out.

See, us people in our 60's and 70's are cooler than you thought. This was one of my favorite bands and vinyl to play. I just gave the original records to my son for his collection. None of my records were scratched because I wouldn't let anyone touch them. LOL..Great reaction and glad you enjoyed!

The fade-in was unusual for songs at that time. But then so was much of what was in store after that: the guitar harmonies, the range of Brad's vocals, the tone of the guitar's made by Tom's invention the Rockman, along with the excellent production and taping of the tracks. I'm sure others can add to the list....

Well, TBH you still haven't heard the *whole* song, but at least you saw how the original members looked ('70s hair & fashion). The theme of the lyrics is how music can bring memories to mind. He turned on some music to start the day, and hearing an old familiar song, he was reminded of a girlfriend from years past. The enjoyment of hearing the song was enhanced by his fond memories of Marianne, hence "more than a feeling". More "Boston" suggestions: "Smokin'", "Hitch a Ride", and "Peace of Mind".
