There is a huge market sat waiting of people who haven't got thousands of pounds to sink in to an e-bike, a good affordable working person friendly budget and they will sell like hot cakes.
Great vid, went from a 250w to a 350w (both 36v)for my commute to work, knocked 5 minutes of my commute. Folks don't realise how quick 20-22mph is on a pushbike especially the state of the roads. Q, would your mileage be better with 48v?
If you manage the output on the 48v the same as 36v, yes, the 48v will go further due to higher watt hour, 48v is better all round just a bit more expensive.
I know I own a couple of mid-drive bikes and a 48v bike but most of the time I'm only hitting speeds of 15 and 20mph on the odd time 25 so I think that 350w 48v is OK I'd have it in my garage mate
I put this very kit on my trek marlin 6 with a Bafang BBSHD mid drive. Two separate 52 volt 17.5 amp batteries powering both motors. Insane performance. The front 350 watt kit with the bigger battery last for many miles. I now have the combination of distance and speed. Replaces a car for getting around.
Would have been more useful seeing what the 350w can do up that steep hill..and what it’s real world range would be on the battery used…I can freewheel downhill 30+mph on my non electric bike ..a decent kit cheaper/easier to fit for real world use.
The problem is all the testers use the throttle too much. They won't pedal assist, they change PA modes...and use the throttle. Pedaling is still part of it. But a lot....seem lazy!
Get a seperate battery, 48v 20ah, 48v 25ah, 48v 30ah that will give you decent range more than 50-60 miles (48v 30ah) dont forget to check its samsung or lg cells in it
Can still program the controller to be fully legal on a 48v battery, And have better acceleration and hill climbing, and also have the ability to enjoy much better top speed up to 30mph if you wish, So 48v is the way to go with a cheap KT controller, I'm not going back to 36v, performance drops way to much as the voltage drops, You can program the throttle to be 3 mph max and set top speed to legal 15.5mph that's what I do in central London just incase I get a tug, out of London I have the speed unrestricted with throttle unlimited, Best of both worlds, legal when needed.
Hi Steve brill video on the 350w bike, does it have a restricter on it?where you can turn it off or on?to go faster as was told on some you can restrict it,cheers oh and motor alone no pedalling what did it top out at cheers
I have the same kit, I rarely go above assist level 3 to be honest. At that support level I already manage to cruise between 40-50kmh, which is ludicrously fast in urban environments. Anything above that I'd have to change sprockets, cuz my cadence is ridiculous above 45kmh.
I live in the Pennines you'd be doing 50 without an engine - imagine the speed with. Anywhere there's wagons there's bad road surfaces. I reckon you got a Sprinter or Boxer.
I was in Romania 30 years ago and I saw better roads over there than we have here!! Thanks for doing the video, Iv been thinking of transforming my bike, better with the bigger battery me thinks, my guess is yo bought a vito or a VW Transporter ha
It is mph and not kph your measuring in? I can’t remember. Ta It’s ok you just answered my question in the video. The bike flys for the wattage and voltage. Cool.
Great vids as always Steve. Love the content. Do you upgrade the brake pads as I’m changing mine every week. Burning through them. Or any recommendations on good spec ones to get?
I'm at 500 miles on my 1000w kit with the same brake pads and they still look like they have a decent amount more still left in them before I'll change em. So not sure what you are doing with your bike.
I have a 48v 250w rear hub drive kit with integrated controller. It hits 20ish mph and I'm a heavier guy. The reason I got a 48v kit was fro torque, not speed.
i got my 350w up to 54km 😜its a custom build bike with an electric kit i put on it , you can go wayyy faster then 32 on that bike , but very nice bike you got there 👌
Problem is when you cut across junctions onto pavements then over onto the road again it causes problems for all the Karen's out there and eventually there will be more restrictions on cyclists

You are write mate yose power do a 350watt kit with battery for 400pound and they come with integrated speed controller very popular

Good watch Steve and good information thanks
A good balance 350w for a more rideable experience.
Yea, come on Steve, chuck one in the rear too for some 2wd 😎

Any advice how to program kit to legal requirements?
I think it is a good kit it would do for what i would want great for an entry level kit .
Simply brilliant thanks Steve,oh I reckon you gone for a merc sprinter

Seems pretty decent, ive got an andy kirby 2000w kit and think it's overkill for what I use it for. You don't really need a lot to get by.

some balls on you steve spot on vid
Less go!

You guessed correct 😃
Lovely video as always. Please do you get to use the throttle and pedal at same time to hit the highest speed ?
Sometimes
Cheers dude .

It’s ok you just answered my question in the video.
The bike flys for the wattage and voltage. Cool.
Why are the roads so bad over there ?.
the transit connect next to your car in the video

Ever considered getting a Battery holder with the integrated controller think Hailong or yosepower ? Make for a lot neater build

Is it sensible to have a 500w front hub motor with 2 torque arms, would it damage the forks?
Great video Steve
As any one put a front and rear drive unit in same bike
Out of curiosity wonder wat it would go like
Thanks john
I went for mid drive and front drive. Each motor with its own 52 volt battery. It’s monstrous😮
gotta be a sprinter van ?
Would love this bike ❤️
i got my 350w up to 54km 😜its a custom build bike with an electric kit i put on it , you can go wayyy faster then 32 on that bike , but very nice bike you got there 👌
He is in mph so he is getting very similar speed to you
Have you tried a bafang motor? What would you rather hub or mid motor?
State of that road🤬
Sadly you’ll go for a Vito but a VW Transporter is the best.
Mate can you build me a bike basic Trek of Specialised frame open to recommendations.
Where in the UK England is this?
Have you tried out the vandervolt kits?

Hi Steve
