    Nice rifle! I have a EU 455 that came factory threaded, factory fluted. Been told this is very rare for CZ to do and that it was made as a promotion for a company over in EU. Mine is also threaded in 1/2-20. Just like you when I contacted CZ USA, they told me that CZ doesn't make their guns suppressor ready and that it was done aftermarket. After pressing them further, they reached out to the parent company with my SN and found out that it was an EU gun.

    I found the same thing on the 457 I just bought - 20" varmint barrel with a 1/2x20 threaded muzzle. At least I knew about it when I ordered it. Now, I'm going to have to figure if I like the "thumbhole" stock that it comes with!

    Very nice review and built, I also got very interested on the CZ 457 after seeing your video...I shoot some CZ 455 at my club, and they are very precise, not particularly sexy on the original wood stock, but very good rifles....the 457 with this MDT chassis looks really nice.

      Hi Womfat...do you have any idea how many rounds you put through your CZ 457? Is it keeping the precision and accuracy? Any ideas also about the average life on this barrel and if it is easy to change barrels later on?
      Thanks if you have any of these answers.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  Před 4 lety

      @@ohleocleafar I have about 3000 rounds through the rifle now, no signs of slowing down. I was curious as to the life of a 22LR barrel as well. Depending who you ask, you'll get answers varying from "much longer than a center fire" to "you can never shoot them out". In the end, there are many variables that come into play. I think they can be shot out but the round count will vary and I've never done it. The 457 uses the same barrels as 455s so there are plenty of aftermarket options on the market. Parts availability and general maintenance was something I looked for when deciding on the rifle.

    Excellent video Sir. Has me looking for a 20inch MTR!! That bolt cycle looks really smooth! A decision between the TX1 and the 457, though the 457 looks to have the nicest bolt cycle (maybe).

  • @ocabj
    @ocabj Před 4 lety

    I will say that the 457 action visually looks better than the 455. I have been pondering getting an Area 419 457 package with the Manners stock because I want to have a non-chassis rimfire gun in the stable. Operationally, I like the changes to the bolt geometry and the fact you can easily swap bolt knobs.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  Před 4 lety

      I got to handle one of the Manners Area 419 457s, it was very nice. The bolt changes are nice, especially the bolt stop on the receiver and shorter throw. The actual bolt uses the same extractor, holder and spring clamp as the 455.

    Hi, catalog 457 MTR herencia un europe doesn't have a thread barrel. But It isn't the first time that I see small changes in their products. The reality is that here in Europe each country has its own import company and sometimes they requests special orders with some small modifications. It would not surprise me that if for some reason a production could not be sold, the surplus ended up being sent to the American market. Here in France you can find some models offers in the market, which you cannot find later in the CZ catalog.
