    Please do it in 22WMR... That would be an amazing rifle. (Plus, I need a new 22 mag rifle...)

    So...what are people using a $1k 22lr for? I’m new to guns and I just don’t understand this investment (and others like it). Are there 22lr compilations out there I’m not aware of? I’m not trying to pick on CZ, My first pistol was a P10c and it’s a great gun.

    • @Genesis23OPB
      @Genesis23OPB Před 4 lety +1

      maybe as a training gun. precision shooting is mostly repetition of breathing and trigger control, so to train that with a visible result you have to shoot something. and .22lr is much cheaper to shoot than the actual match ammo you would use.
      however, they call it a varmint rifle. and shooting varmint with a 1000 bucks .22lr is a bit... well... weird? overkill? i can do the same with a 40 yr old single shot .22lr. for less than 100 bucks.

    • @CokeMk7
      @CokeMk7 Před 4 lety +2

      Partly because it’s cool and partly because of competition use. I bought the Precision trainer (manners stock) for those 2 reasons alone. If you only want to hunt with it then this model is not aimed towards you, they do only plan on selling a couple hundred a year unlike their normal 457s which they plan to move at a much higher volume. They are trying to cater to that niche market who doesn’t want to customize it, they want it all custom from the factory

    • @GrendalTheBeasty
      @GrendalTheBeasty Před 4 lety +1

      Competition use is the main reason. Keep in mind this won't actually sell for $1000, it'll be more like $850 retail. I have 2 bolt action 22's, a $400 CZ 455 Training Rifle as a retro style plinker and a Browning T-Bolt Varmint/Target. The CZ is setup basically like a military rifle from the 1880's to WW2 and that's why I bought it. The Browning is a $700 rifle with a $250 aftermarket trigger pack and $350 scope + rings. So yeah, $1300 total. That is for precision shooting, whether it be formal competition or just competing against myself. One certainly could go hunting with it, but that's not why I bought it. I bought it to put 10 rounds through one ragged hole at 50 yards while shooting off hand. The rifle is far better at that than I am, but practice makes perfect.

    • @ravernck
      @ravernck Před 4 lety +2

      @C-Bomb I'm sure that's the case but not 600 dollars better especially when we are talking about 22lr

      Even a cz 452,455 can out shoot a Ruger precision... and its not even marketed as a "precision".. 🤣🤣🤣 and theyre in the same price range🤣🤣

    • @GrendalTheBeasty
      @GrendalTheBeasty Před 4 lety +2

      @@ravernck I've never seen a Ruger RPR for less than $400, but still, it is a big price difference. The basic CZ 457 is about the same price though and has a better trigger and smoother action. This chassis version basically just adds a $500 chassis to it. Looks like a really solid chassis unlike the cheap plastic Ruger one. I'm giving it a pass though. Currently I use a Browning T-Bolt Varmint/Target with an aftermarket trigger pack for precision 22LR.
