    Definitely a chassis system to consider if you’re running a cz457! It comes with everything you might need 👍

    Went with a EC Tuner and small suppressor today. I was skeptical to say the least. After a bit of tuning it made remarkable changes to my groupings. Went from .6 at 50m to .25 - .35.
    Not just 1 group. I shot 12 groups to make sure it was repeatable. Very impressed

      More of a user guide than a review I guess, but I think it’s a good contender if someone is after a chassis system.

    Nice chassis Jon. Did it improved the accuracy as well? I tested same rifle with the original stock, accuracy was not top on.

    • @JonCresswellUk
      @JonCresswellUk  Před rokem +3

      I’ve yet to test that at the range. It will certainly allow me to add accessories like bipods, tripods, weights etc easer. It also allows for tool less adjustments to make the rifle fit. At the end of the day it’s still the same barrel and action, but having a sturdier chassis may help. Proof will be on the range

    Thank you Jon- I bought a ROME Chassis Lorica for my CZ457 last autumn. So as with all CZ457 stocks, there should be a flat surface in front of the front action screw for the action to rest on. On the LORICA chassis, there was not this bedding surface and the action was in contact with the chassis over its entire length. I therefore had to manually rework the chassis by installing an aluminum block.
    How is the bedding for the front screw solved on the MOTUS?

    Good afternoon. Thank you for this really great video. May I ask one question, please ?
    How do you proceed when you want to clean your rifle, do you have to unscrew the entire butt to be able to access the barrel and properly clean it with a rod, please ?

    • @JonCresswellUk
      @JonCresswellUk  Před 4 měsíci +3

      No, there is an Allen key grub screw on the right hand side of the stock that releases the cheek pad so you can clean it

    Hi Jon, I would like to switch from the Tikka stock to a chassis system for my Tikka T3x Super Varmint in .308 Win. After extensive internet research, I think the Rome Motus chassis would be a good choice. Can you agree with this? Where I am still a little skeptical is the buttstock. Here I fear that the butt stock could wobble a bit. What is your experience with the Rome chassis for your CZ 457? Many greetings from Austria, Hans

    • @JonCresswellUk
      @JonCresswellUk  Před rokem +1

      The butt stock is solid! It’s held in by 4 bolts. I’ve taken it to the range but not used it at a comp yet. I’m impressed so far as it has everything you need in the box 📦 you have a couple of options for the Tikka T3: the www.romeaccessories.it/en/prodotto/chassis-lorica-r-per-tikka-t3-2/ (which gives it the look and feel of the Gladio rifle - like the one I have in .308), and www.romeaccessories.it/en/prodotto/chassis-motus-m-per-tikka-t3-2/. Both are nice chassis, ones a tactical style and one is more sports/PRS style chassis.

    what's the global weight after upgrade ?

    • @JonCresswellUk
      @JonCresswellUk  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I’ll weigh it when I next grab it out the cabinet, but my calculations so far are:
      CZ barrelled action - ???
      Scope rings - ???
      Strike Eagle - 1.9 lb / 30.4 oz
      ROME Chassis - 4.85 lb / 77.6 oz
      Bipod - 1.14 lb / 18.16 oz
      Coletac backbone - 0.31 lb / 5 oz
      Coletac flat bag - 0.79 lbs / 12.68 oz
      Total 8.99 lb / 143.84 oz (minus the barrelled action and scope rings)

    A competition 22LR if you have the strength brain-wise, do it! Go ALL out, the high-priced 22LR ammunition, why hold back? Enjoy the sport. But with rifle scopes, I'll push TRACT Toric line: 4-20x50mm30mmT, 4.5-30x56mm34T, and Tract's new 4-25x50mm34T with a 47 elevation Mrad.

      To start with, I bought somewhat cheap rifle scopes, but I desired a quality rifle scope; Tract Toric 4-20x50mm cost me USD 1000 with German Schott HT glass. The purchase is from Tract Optics direct to the buyer; cost savings no middleman. The Tract is mounted on a bolt gun in 6.5 Creedmoor.

    I could be wrong, but I think you are supposed to always torque the rear 1st. Also considering a chassis for my LRP. Is very difficult to get enough weight in the front for NRL/PRS with the standard stock
