Journalists were saying, she’s 29 and badly injured, and wrote her off! But she won about 9 GS after 29. No one has changed the game like Serena. She’s the reason others now have a game filled with hard hitters, but she was criticized for it. They said she was too muscular & strong. She was cheated so much that Hawk-Eye had to be implemented. Booed by her own country, while opponents were cheered, and we know why! They said she’s the best cause of doping. But when she always tested negative, they were silent. Some will never give her her Props, but that’s OK, she’s still the GOAT per the majority!!! 😂😂

Serena and Venus are the only reasons I ever picked up a racket. I watched their 4 finals in 2002-03 as a kid and thought how amazing it would be to have their talent.

Serena Williams (1999-2017) A tennis legacy stalled at 23 Grand Slam Singles titles. Once Serena stopped feeling like she had anything left to prove, the fiery need to win and silence naysayers was gone. Hingis, Henin, and Capriati had long retired. Sharapova was a rival effectively silenced in 2005. Azarenka lifted but never fully toppled her game. Venus hadn't beaten her in a GS Final since 2008.
Serena's physical fitness began to slowly decline after FO 2015 while her playing ability began to decline after pregnancy. The C-section messed up her core and she never won a slam after giving birth. Not advancing at USO '15 was the beginning of the end. She was visibly less fit compared to AO and FO '15 and the loss to Vinci in the SF was a major dent to her mental game. She could be cracked. WC '15 and '16 were the last times Serena would beat someone at a GS final who wasn't Sharapova or Venus. Serena would go on to lose SIX GS finals in FOUR years (2016-2019). Somehow Patrick remained her coach.
Once Serena matched and then broke Steffi's record with WC '16 and AO '17, it was over. Perhaps Serena could've gotten to 24 or 25 GS if only she had held off on getting pregnant and let the naysaying blonde tennis Karens fuel her gameplay to another win. Alas, with four post-pregnancy GS final defeats, other players had her number. Poor comparative physical fitness, age, and weaknesses in her game well studied and exploited by younger players meant that her legacy was left incomplete and surpassable. So disappointing. The ride was thrilling while it lasted.

Just think if it wasn't a Serena but Venus only. Still it wouldn't be easy for many. But because they always play each other in the finals most times. To me its no such thing as a lost when they had to play each other. Them two sisters are both winners.

Not just in USA And in most of Asia and as far as I know in Russia and Middle East, Serena is also seen as the greatest in a most competitive tennis era. After Serena? Who cares? Probably one or two here who always take old-era Graf as the best do care. When they always like to talk about what is outside Germany they automatically think their Europe means all outside Germany while except the USA, Russia Asia and Middle East and Africa which really occupy most parts of the globe do not belong to the world. Tennis is already a real global all-people sport not an almost European&USA White-race narrow one in Graf's era. So the few can change nothing about Serena's status in history. The fact they always try to detract from Serena's feat under her videos and give ridiculous conclusions (such as she is most hated???) all proves Serena is really the greatest and so influential and incurs so much jealousy

Court has more Slams, and if you want to go by resume in more recent times, Graf is the better choice by far. 1 less Slam and more than twice as many tournaments won, and she did all of that before retiring at the age of 29.
