This comes closest to how I experience it. Cam near my right eye, mic near my left ear. Car spex; see my '70 Dodge Challenger' playlist description: • 70 Dodge Challenger
The gas pedal wasn't even on the floor, that was an example of what cruising speed looks like... I was waiting for the guy in front of you to get the f... out of the way so I could see it really opened up... I speak from experience having had a '70 Dodge Super Bee with 383 magnum with a pistol grip four speed and a 150 mph speedo... telephone poles looked like a picket fence... Those were the days! Thanks for the ride!
Almost feel like I'm there next to you ! Awesome job man ! Loads of Respect :) These are the greatest cars ever built. Nice work, awesome video. Love your work man !
Speed is nice but gets old even with power chips blah blah...But another reason along with Mopars I lean to Olds on GM side is TORQUE. You can ride in your tuners all day long but until you open up a carbed engine and feel the torque build that is where the driving experience comes alive..
@cyrusloynes Since the previuos Autobahn vid I mounted Wilwood front disk brakes, TTI headers and 3" X pipe system, and a remanufactured 'extra eatra firm' steering box by Steer & Gear.
LOVE IT !! I love a V-8 with a long arm in it, and yes a 6 speed is needed as I have built a lot of stroker motors . You should have no more than 3:23's in the back with all that under the hood, and yes it sounds sweet. Keep that car until you are at least 80 yrs. old.
I love to hear the American accent on der Autobahn. My mother’s cousin had a new ‘69 Daytona in ‘70. It had sat on a lot for a year. There’s no way to tell you how fast we went im that beast and he didn’t trust the six year old not tell his momma but I recall the power of the torque and speed. On a long stretch of double highway with cattle fence on both sides of the road the posts were a blur. I’d love to see that car with updated suspension on the autobahn with everyone in the right hand hand lane. Ok, AMC Mercedes can try to keep up.
I grew up with a 70 Challenger. 383 magnum, slapstick auto. Candy Apple red with white interior and white convertible top. I’d sell my soul to have it back.
DAMNNED LITTLE HIGH SPEED LANE INTRUDERS!!!! THEY ARE FOUND IN EVERY PLACE IN THE WORLD AND ALWAYS DO THE SAME THING: THEY BLOCK THE FUN OF THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY CAN ENJOY SPEEDING..... OTHER THAN THAT WHAT A RUN, MAN ...CHEERS.
I love that at 1:50 the little toyota whatever pulls out, overtakes and then goes straight back into the slow lane coz the driver saw the rearview mirror and went "oh shit! its a dodge challenger!" Beautiful machine, i would love one someday
I had a 70' Challenger R/T 440 AT with a 3:23 rear gear. I topped it out one time and it hit 137. I may have coaxed 5 or more mph out of it but it started vibrating too hard. My 70' Cuda 440 AT w/ 4:10 gear was good for 117 max.
Great video. Sounds gorgeous. I'm actually sporting wood! I hope you drive this car for a long time. That's some serious Detroit Iron. All the best. Stay safe.
Engine is done by others, but most of the suspension upgrades I did myself. There's a 'proof' in my 'Kowalskis' video that I ain't Jus; you'll see a photo I took back in 2002 of Electric Wizard next to my Challenger ;-)
I know it seems ridiculous. They make these high powered muscle cars, but their roads are restricted to speed limits 😂🤣😆 but in Germany most Europeans driving in economy cars like Volkswagens, fiats, Peugeots and cars like that but have no speed restrictions on some of their roads lol.
I didn't care for stock look. I only wanted to re-use my rallye bezel. TPI gauges were at that time (2005) the only ones that fitted and that had the functionality that I was looking for.
Pistol Grip four speed. What a brute. Thanks for the ride-a-long. I like how you looked like robocop with the camera on, great idea.... i always bite my go-pro mount for 1st person shits..shots..i like this idea better. Keep the dirty side down brother.
they run out of gear well before they run out of engine. the old saying 'theres no substitute for cubic inches' is more than just words. you cant believe how these ancient push rod engines pull from100mph up in a heavy, crap aerodynamic car. the new stuff is impressive and thats what I drive, BUT i cut my teeth on these old timers. 140-150mph in a car riding on air with the suspension topped out, drum brakes, and no seat belts is a bloody thrill ride.
my uncle was on the autobahn with his 67 Plymouth roadrunner and hit 149 he has it modded...he is a power mechanic he also has a pinto with a made real engine 2...fits a beast
A lot of USAF and RCAFs guys shipped their muscle cars over to Germany during the cold war and they sold them to German people when they shipped out to go home....
haha no offense meant anyway you gotta put up a video of you taking that beast around the nurburgring i know a lot of us yanks would love to drive that track especially in an old mopar!
I would go back to the right lane, so the car in front of you that stays inthe left lane understands, that he should do the same. I always do so and it works most of the time. You also keep your distance - very neat and safe - but the car in front of you doesn't seem to understand or notice you want to pass him. I have driven at high speeds as well in Germany and it is way more safe where there are 3 lanes available.
This car really needs an OD. The 4 speed is more of a drag trans than a highway one. A more highway-friendly rear gear ratio would be good too (3.73 or less, less being better, like the factory 3.23 with Sure Grip)
@@66PaleRider My old Mercury wagon had a 3.30 gear, and if it wasn't in OD, it screamed in third gear, which was direct drive (1 to 1). Might I suggest a Gearvendors OD unit?
Do you have a 3.55 axle? In the '80's I built a '71 Road Runner, 440, six pack, 4 speed, ported, headers, roller cam, and I recall pegging the 150 speedo around 6000 to 6200 or so. At those speeds one keeps eyes on the road. I used to run it on the PA turnpike. Traffic was lighter, and nobody had cell phones back then.... Best adrenaline rush I ever had. Awesome car, by the way....
Beautiful car, great engine sounds. I had a 70 Chally back in the year, 340 though, still ran like a mother. I had a 4:11 rear end the top speed was about 145 because of the gearing. How fast are you going?
Wow, one of the very rare videos where a muscle car is DRIVEN and not just stands around idling. Thanks for that! Very nice car 8-]
Klaus Klausen Amen!
those car are made to drive not be trailer queens

A piece of art on wheels.
one of the most beautiful cars ever
Thank You, For bringing back memory of days long past
it's all in thy experience
Almost feel like I'm there next to you ! Awesome job man ! Loads of Respect :) These are the greatest cars ever built. Nice work, awesome video. Love your work man !
This is a terrific video. No music, just great diving and the sound of a classic muscle car on the open road.
The video is 4:40 long.
omarofuae holy shit XD
coincidence? I think not
@@boosterseat740 no thats joincidence with a c
If it were a mustang it would be 4:29
nice
With another gear ratio or a 5 speed it could go (that) faster, but for now 150mph is sufficient..
You went 150 mph on the video?
Sweet car man! 1970 is my favorite year.
Speed is nice but gets old even with power chips blah blah...But another reason along with Mopars I lean to Olds on GM side is TORQUE. You can ride in your tuners all day long but until you open up a carbed engine and feel the torque build that is where the driving experience comes alive..

Finally....sombody who actually drives their Mopar! I am tired of seeing people with these bad ass cars but are too scared to drive them.
LOVE IT !! I love a V-8 with a long arm in it, and yes a 6 speed is needed as I have built a lot of stroker motors . You should have no more than 3:23's in the back with all that under the hood, and yes it sounds sweet. Keep that car until you are at least 80 yrs. old.
Excellent video! I love how its from the point of view of the driver as no other video gives you the feeling its you driving it. I Love it!

Eins der mit Abstand geilsten Autos die es jemals gab und geben wird!
Der Hammer, da waren Autos noch Autos und dessen Fahrer noch Fahrer!
I could sleep to that engine sound.
I grew up with a 70 Challenger. 383 magnum, slapstick auto. Candy Apple red with white interior and white convertible top. I’d sell my soul to have it back.
Step aside europaens, there is an american monster machine coming
DAMNNED LITTLE HIGH SPEED LANE INTRUDERS!!!! THEY ARE FOUND IN EVERY PLACE IN THE WORLD AND ALWAYS DO THE SAME THING: THEY BLOCK THE FUN OF THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY CAN ENJOY SPEEDING..... OTHER THAN THAT WHAT A RUN, MAN ...CHEERS.
In this video a 440, nowadays a 470 (400 stroker)
This is every car guys dream! Love It! Awesome car!
Purposely timed to 440?
2bit MarketAnarchist Yep
Pale Rider awesome
+Pale Rider whe nwe were going home at night i saw a car with circle lights and i though it was a nissan skyline but it wasant lol
i love how ordinary drivers have the courtesy of pulling into "granny" lane when a supercar or musclecar comes up behind them
In Germany it isn't courtesy...it is the law. The same applies in the USA...they just don't enforce it.
This is a dream of mine! You're living my dream, man!
She needs another gear !!!
Classic muscle cars don't need more than 4+1 manual transmission
@@Andrei-eb2du yes and no. More gears = faster acceleration and better powerband use. Thats why all these old cars are so slow even with bigblocks
Or two
Works in theory but a 5 speed manual big torque car is quite inconvenient for american roads.
I love that at 1:50 the little toyota whatever pulls out, overtakes and then goes straight back into the slow lane coz the driver saw the rearview mirror and went "oh shit! its a dodge challenger!"
Beautiful machine, i would love one someday
In every video I have the same manual 4 speed transmission...
Sweet sound of the Highland Park Hummingbird
I have so many questions about this but it’s awesome 😍
Start with one question :-)
Well that was fun....off to the kicking machine for selling my '74 Challenger
Beautiful classic muscle car
This is a dream ride....THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Guaranteed this car turned more heads than any Ferrari on the road. This is a certified panty dropper as soon as you turn the corner

king of the autobahn king of highways..
It is nice to see someone making use of a set of hood pins..thanks for posting!
fucking beautiful noise!
Great video. Sounds gorgeous. I'm actually sporting wood! I hope you drive this car for a long time. That's some serious Detroit Iron. All the best. Stay safe.
Challenger in Germany. Now all I need is Sidney Dark and some of that Euro kink -and we're set!
Out stretching his leg, getting that cramp out.
That BEAST Breath 🫁
There is nothing like DODGE ! Love'em, especially the Charger and the Challenger. Hope I'll ever get a ride on the passenger seat, at least...
The fact that the video is 4:40 long is perfect, because the 440 six pack and the magnum were in those cars
beautiful car
Engine is done by others, but most of the suspension upgrades I did myself.
There's a 'proof' in my 'Kowalskis' video that I ain't Jus; you'll see a photo I took back in 2002 of Electric Wizard next to my Challenger ;-)
the power is there .
cam right eye, mic left ear? must have looked like a funny scientist. sweet vid tho, great car
I'm jealous of you germans. You guys have the autobahn!
Wow...I usually hate custom dashboard faces...yours is the only one I've ever seen that I really like...
jamie1974 It was a long search to find a set of gauges that fitted the rallye dash. And the woodgrain paint came off pretty easy.
Pale Rider Good job...custom but looks correct for the time period of the car.
waaaay quieter than i thought
its DOING WHAT IT WAS MEANT TO DO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHTLINE AND IT FINDS ITS COMFORT IN THE GERMAN ROADS!!! AN AMERICAN CAR ON GERMAN ROADS LOL

American Muscle on the Autobahn! Does not get much cooler than that!
i agree 100% bro a muscle car isnt a muscle car without a manual in it
Ah, the bond between man and machine. I think it needs another gear though.
Every time I am over there, I wish I had my GWE with me...... :(
Life is too short to NOT drive a big V8......
No other country in the world you can open up a car. than Germany and be legal.
Need lights on so can read the gauges...
ethier sounds good, nice car the best don,t loose it
my god what a beautiful sound
@mattpavelich1
17" American Racing AR500
I wanted the stock Magnum wheel look, but the handling benefits of less rubber.
Let the G-force be with you. They make some fast cars now but they don't have that torque that makes you feel like your neck is going to break.
gave my kidney to drive one of these craft
Pistol Grip four speed. What a brute. Thanks for the ride-a-long. I like how you looked like robocop with the camera on, great idea.... i always bite my go-pro mount for 1st person shits..shots..i like this idea better. Keep the dirty side down brother.
Yes, a Tremec 5 or 6 speed and you'd really be flyin in overdrive !!
So badass!!! And the time of the video is 440!!!!

Bad ass car man.
my uncle was on the autobahn with his 67 Plymouth roadrunner and hit 149 he has it modded...he is a power mechanic he also has a pinto with a made real engine 2...fits a beast
The Challenger was geared too low for the Autoban, it needed 2.73:1 gears. They're good for 150+ mph.
The car is geared for average usage, not only for autobahn.
So cool. Enjoy the ride man!
Now this is podracing.
A lot of USAF and RCAFs guys shipped their muscle cars over to Germany during the cold war and they sold them to German people when they shipped out to go home....
lol move over Plymouth approaching rapidly
Awesome!!but you gotta get a Tremec TKO overdrive in there kid!
@OldestManInCanada yes, they drive on the right side just like in north america
I hope you have a crankshaft windage tray in that thing.

No it doesn't; my MAS front spoiler keeps it down.
What do people think driving that over there? Are they curious? That's an awesome car.
I like that pistol grip. I want that pistol grip. Are the pistol grips only manuals or can they come in automatics?
You must not see a lot of Challengers because most of them came with shifters on the column...
fucking sweet! glad to see europe enjoying our muscle cars and not those silly plastic rice burners! keep on rocking dude!!
How do people view American muscle car era cars in Deutschland, and how does it feel going at the NASCAR speeds it was designed for?
