    I have actual structural issues that can't be fixed unless God does a miracle...but I also have some TMS ...they go hand in hand from medical PTSD. It doesn't matter to me what is TMS and what is true structural issues that cannot be fixed...I treat them all the same. Everything Dan teaches is neural retraining.....it helps both situations...it helps me deal with all symptoms no matter what it's from. It deals with the fears and the over thinking and stress that I create worrying about my conditions that ALWAYS is detrimental to anything I have.
    You will use these wonderful things Dan is teaching all your life...life is messy...there will always be something that can cause stress in your life...a death, an accident, stressful relationship, any illness, cancer.... whatever it may be neural retraining can help every aspect of your life ❤️
    Thanks Dan for all you do , I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom and calm but truthful approach ❤️

      Yes, taking the fear out of the equation is key. Dan's reminders not to keep dwelling on symptoms and to be consistent in our supportive behaviours are so helpful.

    4:00 in the morning.
    I find that when I wake up in pain, I need a safe time...a quiet time and something to focus on that doesn't require any thinking. I recently found a whole group of youtube videos done by many different artists on how to color these small drawings in a small coloring book. This really works. Delightful background music, no talking, just focus and then duplicate what she is doing. It takes practice and focus. My protective mind relaxes and feels safe and checks out. The symptoms stop, and after about an hour, the small drawing is completed, and I go back to bed and sleep for another few hours

    I am looking at going back to the gym in the near future. I am currently riding my exercise bike for 25 minutes a day and I have started lifting the dumbbells I have at home. I also visualize myself working out at the gym.

      You can definitely go to gym and do the same things you're doing at home as a start... being in an energised environment with other active people is good for you! I started gym again 2 weeks ago after months of inactivity, I was very nervous but took it slowly and felt no symptoms during or after.

    Today was a good day - walking a mile, working out at the gym, walking home, sitting in the sun - only mild fatigue - stomach a lot less bloated, and I got to enjoy a good lasagna and meatball meal with pesto sauce at dinner time - and then I went shopping for cleaning supplies in the evening. I really enjoyed the day.😋🥰

    The #1 question is why we think of the mind and body as separate systems. There shouldn’t be this constant stigma about addressing one over the other.

    The thing is Dan it's possible to have actual physical mechanical issues, like musculoskeletal problems due to something like osteoporosis, or cancer, but also have problems associated with PDP. Lots of people may well have both, and some people may find they can cure both. Some people may find they can't. I fully and completely support and accept the idea of PDP as a factor in illness, disability and mental and emotional problems. But that doesn't mean that there may not also be some serious life-threatening challenges that can't be ticked off as PDP.

      @axmmusic3129 Yes, but my point is that one thing doesn't cancel out the other, whichever it is. It's possible to have serious stuff and PDP, and to work towards a better outcome for both.

      @1STBUCKLEY Před 3 měsíci +6

      Dan's always said get the life threatening stuff checked out. That said, I believe mindset can probably reduce even the hardcore stuff. My take.

      You’re not listening to his message.
      He’s been abundantly clear that structural issues should be ruled out first. He has a questionnaire that literally helps to delineate between the two.
      Instead of trying to “correct” a guy that has done decades of work in this field… maybe watch his videos and learn what he’s *actually saying first.

      I have structural issues, but thanks to dan I've removed the chronic pain from the equation! Flare ups are very few and far in between. And I know how to calm myself down when I'm facing fear and symptoms arise. It's made fixing the structural part much easier.

    Does anyone else here or in Dan's coaching group deals with panic attacks right as you are dozing off falling asleep? This all started with GI issues that turned into "heart issues" for me. All testing eventually came back OK and apparently my brain was/is triggering all these symptoms. The anxiety got to a point where now I deal with panic attacks right as I'm about to fall asleep even when trying to take a nap. I'm falling out of consciousness when suddenly my stomach will sink, my heart will start racing and I get a jolt of energy that wakes me back up. Just curious if others have experienced this with TMS.

      My wife had that. Her brain read lying on her back or left side as danger and shot off cortisol. Our Neuro chiropractor helped get her body into rest and digest and did a reset of her brain (a brain exercise of looking up to the left, down to the right, up the right, down to the left). QNRT is another amazing transformative way of healing the brain to stop our brains from shooting into fight/flight that dramatically shifted my wife’s health after the first appointment. We live in MN and people come from all over to Secoya Health in Woodbury but there are also practitioners in most states.

    I would like to focus more on living than fixing- it makes HUGE sense!
    BUT please Dan tell me how can I focus on living if I am in debilitating bladder pain really unable to do anything? I push myself through pain to go out for a walk, for a coffee but it HURTS af and I don’t enjoy it at all. Sometimes pain is so agonising that I can’t even stand up and go to the bathroom.. so how to focus on living then? when I have less pain I am always doing things, because I am more functional but I have very little days like that (maybe once a week), rest of the days I am in horrific pain. Even if I calm down I feel the pain. What to do then? Really focusing on living doesn’t help to subside the symptoms at all 😪

    I am new to your vids but you make it sound like on some level the symptoms will always exist. Is this true? I have found on my recovery journey that having symptoms or flare ups make me thing that I'm failing or falling backward, which I know I should avoid. But I wonder if a fully pain free future is really possible? Possibly no one can answer this but I wonder how many people actually lose their symptoms entirely in the end.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 3 měsíci

      There is no permanent cure from symptoms. It's a human condition. But I have cured my chronic symptoms. And, if I do get a twinge in my back, I know what it is and what to do about it. And, it goes away very quickly. I am fully pain free 99.9 percent of the time. The brain always reserves it's right to create a symptom if it perceives danger. That's it's job. It is OUR job to say - not today. I know I'm okay and give it as little fear and attention as possible and the symptom will go away. That is not failure. That is success.

    How long after an injury should one stop physio, etc.? My injury was 1 year ago, however the rehab was delayed by 6 months because I had to move house. So I only really consider it 6-7 months ago.

    Hi Dan is it true that when you recover sometimes it gets worse before gets better?❤

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It can, but it doesn't have to. Generally symptoms correlate to the brains perception of danger. If symptoms are getting worse, evaluate your stories, expectations, thoughts, fears, disappointments, frustrations, etc.
