ELVIS hizo 33 peliculas muchisimos conciertos. Muchisimos albums era tan electrico. Multifasetico trabajador increible Es como si hubiese vivido 70 años. Graciad 🎼🎵🎶❤👑👑👑👑👑❤
What rock singer could even consider matching Elvis when he smoked like this during this show? None. James Burton and the drummer (not sure if it was Ronnie Tutt in 1969) was excellent and so was the entire band....insanely tight and with a tinge of Memphis horns throughout. The song must have certainly put a smile on Ray Charles' face (Charles' wrote it) -- it has soul and rock in equal measures. Thrilling. Pic of Elvis at 4:46 is incredible. Should have been used on an album cover. The man was overwhelming. This performance makes today's performers look absolutely anemic.
I think the best thing about Elvis was his appreciation for good music. He knew Ray Charles was freaking phenomenal so he kept the soul Ray put in and added some Elvis flare to it and you get pure epicness
@@ljp206 - That's not what I said. Years ago when Elvis recorded Charles' "What'd I Say," Ray Charles said in an interview at that time that he liked Elvis' version. Whether Ray liked Elvis or not on the Bob Costas interview is irrelevant. The next question to Ray should have been how much money did you make Ray over the years from residuals from that recording made by Elvis? I'd like to hear him answer that one. Bob Costas? Not exactly a high-ranking music interviewer & expert my friend. He's a sportscaster. Or maybe you weren't aware of this.
Awesome! There's a remix of this that was only on vinyl in the 80s with the guitar solos highlighted. Hearing that made me love James Burton's style. Man, the band was so tight here. And Elvis was just unleashed. They sounded amazing in '69.
ELVIS es pura adrenalina su pasion x la musica es impresionante!!!!..... es inigalable ademas bellisimo y con esa altura y su sensualidad. Ademas generoso. Elvis es de alto rango.👑❤👑❤👑❤👑❤
And you might recall it was edited down to about 3 mins, with 2 or 3 breaks of only the clear guitar solo portions...not the moments here where we don't hear it much, lol
The Rock’n Roll King 🤴🏻 In Action I Love The Song Singing And SINGER ❤️ I Wish I Have Seen Mr Elvis Presley Performans But I’m Quite Sure After That I Never Be Myself Again Long Live The King Of Music 🎶 🤴🏻🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
He was fabulous and wild in 1969!!!! Larry Mohoberac on piano...Glen was there starting in 1970....lucky to see 2 shows in 69 with Elvis at his best!! Too bad there's professional film of it!!! 😉
I believe most of what Elvis did on stage was just a act to impress his fans the real Elvis took more enjoyment into being himself singing Gosple songs a cutting up w his band
+javelin1835 in my opinion it is a fact that Elvis had a beautiful talent for the show business and he was of course an excellent singer but without this guy -Jerry Scheff- the whole Elvis band would be just an average band from the 60's and 70's ........ ps.: please don't shoot me :)
I'm not so sure....James Burton would make any musical ensemble outstanding. When it comes to the "TCB Band", I think it is the sum of all the parts. Glen Hardin - a genius on piano, Johnny Wilkinson - a more than capable rhythm guitar player. Ronnie Tutt - a drummer to equal any. I think they would have struggled to find a finer bass player that Jerry.
TTWII is good in it's own right. It's less primal for sure, but you can't tell me Bridge Over Troubled Waters isn't as impressive as a ballad as this song is a rocker variety...
Uggghhh..PRETTY sure this is one of the releases COLONEL TOM made run FASTER than what was actually recorded LIVE. Ol' Dutch fugitive (and CON man) Tom, naturally, being the music "genius" that he was (NOT).
The chosen one: Like Ray Charles "I can't stop loving you" should read "Ray Charles "I Can't Stop Loving You" cover? Or Ray Charles "I can't stop Loving you" by Don Gibson? Where would it all end?
This version Elvis was a tiger just ready to jump out of his cage was he fantastic or not? UNBELIEVABLE!
He will always be in a league of his own👑
yes, Flashboy, you are right! nobody like him, not even in an million years!greetings from Argentina❤
The only one who ever does" IT.!!!" for me.💞
I would have loved to see Elvis sing this song live in 1969. It really rocks and proves forever that Elvis was 'sui generis'.

@Phil Silverman I love all those songs! Like I said, Elvis knew great music when he heard it😂
I don't think ray liked Elvis 🤣, look at his interview with bob Costas

I had this on a cassette back in the early 80's. I was hoping to find this version again thanks for posting it !!
And you might recall it was edited down to about 3 mins, with 2 or 3 breaks of only the clear guitar solo portions...not the moments here where we don't hear it much, lol
It was released in a 3-CD set box in the 1990s entitled COLLECTORS GOLD.
@@PauloPereira-jj4jv This to me sounds like the edited version from the Greatest hits volume 1, not from the boxset.
fantastic james burton with his chicken pick guitar style !!

That’s awesome! So for this song What I’d Say.
What was Elvis doing, when the instrumental is playing?
Was he greetings his fans or just dancing?

Always the best.....
Amazing band
Beautiful! Rock roots... Lovely Elvis...
that guy on the bass guitar is ultramegagood
+Sd D That's Jerry Scheff. No too shabby is he?
+javelin1835 in my opinion it is a fact that Elvis had a beautiful talent for the show business and he was of course an excellent singer but without this guy -Jerry Scheff- the whole Elvis band would be just an average band from the 60's and 70's ........ ps.: please don't shoot me :)

+javelin1835 that's right you won
I don't know if I won, but think you and I both know good music when we hear it ;-)
Insane solo. And fantastic version in general. What date is this from?
I think 26 August 1969
Always exited,when listening to him,always....

unbelievable!!
There's enough energy in the song to light up New YORK City for a whole year and then some.
De qué año es ésta versión. Gracias, es fabulosa.
del año 1969
1969 was best Las Vegas period for Elvis... Not TTWII session or another one...
TTWII is good in it's own right. It's less primal for sure, but you can't tell me Bridge Over Troubled Waters isn't as impressive as a ballad as this song is a rocker variety...
he is on it.
I SAY I LOVE YOU ELVIS

He's cooking on this, pretty fast too, must be medicated or on something.

My favourite James Burton solo. The trumpets should be turned down and the guitar turned up.
Yup. There's a remix of this recording from the 80s that did just that.
The title should be:
Elvis Presley What'd I Say Cover
or
Elvis Presley: What'd I Say by Ray Charles
The-Chosen-One they're both fantastic performers.
+Steve Lillie You're absolutely right !
The chosen one: Like Ray Charles "I can't stop loving you" should read "Ray Charles "I Can't Stop Loving You" cover? Or Ray Charles "I can't stop Loving you" by Don Gibson? Where would it all end?
Ray Charles got Elvised
@Ali Baba You sound stupid and frustrated. It's always a good idea to acknowledge someone else's work
Good but not the best version!!!
Le dá unas cuantas vueltas a la original
This version Elvis was a tiger just ready to jump out of his cage was he fantastic or not? UNBELIEVABLE!
