Oh shoot, fast, slow, what does it matter? It's one of the best, of not THE best American anti war songs ever written, and John sang it from the heart, w/ enough energy to blow up the place. I loved it. No one living other than Fogerty can cover that song.
@@johnoldsnake4132 yes, and that makes me wonder, how come there were so many "anti-'nam" song at that time, compared with the near-zero anti-iraq or anti-afghanistan song at recent past time?
The best version of this song is Fogerty's cameo on _The Finder_ where he plays it with a small practice amp. He belts it out from word one. The power is amazing.
You must be really young. I remember liking everything they did - it was one hit after another. I have about ten CCR favorites - but top two are this one and "Run Through The Jungle." Great music back in the '70's - all genres. I could go on and on but one of my 100 favorite hits from this period is Malo's "Suavecito." Peace.
This is a tru Viet Nam Era song for sure! The first album I bought at 12 years old. older brother in Nam a US Marine. Made it back wounded but mad it home. Thank God!
I'm happy your brother made it home! My husband was a Marine in Vietnam and made it home. Passed away from effects of AO in 2020. Welcome home to your brother!!
Slow in the studio and in movies when you hear/see helicopters but if you can play this slow live you're a better player than me.Rock it. Scream it. Loved it.
John, you are more like God of Ireland Neil Young than anyone else on the planet. Love to see you travelling the multiverse together. You are a mega force of cosmic directed energy and ultra top secret weapon of the spirit. We salute you on 'Armistice Day' 2023 - God Bless Great Eternal Paradise America
CCR one of the late 60s early 70s good rock bands! I own a 71 Chevy Nova and the only band that comes to mind when cruising in it is CCR!! It ll ya back to the Watergate/Vietnam Conflict in a damn hurry guaranteed!!
I WAS SEVEN years old listening quietly to the smart men of that day (and beginning outspoken Woman), poignant ,concerned , diplomatic and solution based ...CCR was always a favorite when those minds were thinking and resting ....always comforted by by you , as everyone is ,,respect thank you John Fogerty
Reminds me of forrest gump too, and I mean that in a good way. Viewed the movie without knowing anything about it. It was a pleasant surprise, and love the sounds.

I listen to many artists and I occasionally compare their prime to their latest recordings, I'd say John Fogerty has preserved his voice the best. I mean even if you don't biologically age drinking, smoking, acid reflux etc will make you sound very different. He seems to be effortlessly hitting those notes without sounding flat and not even doubting himself a second doing that lol. You could put him in any rock band today and he would simply rock lol. Another good preserved voice is Klaus Meine form Scorpions but John Fogety is another level...
Oh shoot, fast, slow, what does it matter? It's one of the best, of not THE best American anti war songs ever written, and John sang it from the heart, w/ enough energy to blow up the place. I loved it. No one living other than Fogerty can cover that song.
Oh, it's the best anti-'Nam song of all time for certain.
My favorite song

No,bro, slow(original) much difficult for performance .That's why i don't like faster FS or faster Hells Bells
I'm from a military family. God flag n pie. I still love this song. Its a true classic.
what a great voice, he has preserved it super good.
what the fuck are you talking about?
Mugiwara-MH john forgery is like 70 and he can still sing songs in their original key. He was born to sing
Not at all. He still sings pretty well, but nothing like back then, because that scratchyness isnt there anymore,
John Fogerty is a unforgetable singer!
One of the greatest rock songs ever written. It spoke well of the times it represented.
One of the best anti war songs ever!
I don’t get how you could complain about this. Song was released in 69. This many years later with this much energy was awesome.
Back when rock meant everything. No stupid distractions. Thank you.
When your hiding in the jungle and you hear a us helicopter play this...
i feelu
Harry Rushton I’d say fuck yeaaaah
As much as I like this jungles and helicopters Wagner says I got this covered.
Why stop at jungles? How about taking over AN ENTIRE COUNTRY? #🇺🇸. Haha

I just realized how similar John Fogerty and Chris Cornells voices are
Hondaridr58 I don’t really hear a similarity

In loving memory of the 20 million killed in WW I - total deaths including civilians
80 million in WW II
2 million 300 thousand in Korea
1 million 363 thousand in Vietnam
all the fallen in the Middle East
Armistice Day
In honor of all who serve
Thank you for the lives you save
and the freedoms your love gave
Warriors for the good
the good of humankind
the kind of courage that would
give their lives for us anytime
they'd do more if they could
'Our' great warriors of America
We are so grateful for all you've done
and we're ready to give back
to every American daughter and son
that braved an enemy attack
to help you heal
till you can celebrate yourselves with us
your courage and your zeal
We worship adore and cherish
each and every one of you
and we'll never forget
all the trauma you went through
the blood the gore
with you we will ask
"what for"
and we'll call them to task
when they're called to answer
the questions they'll ask
will not alter 'Our' course
as we help rebuild your pride
and you'll all get rides
in the parades where freedom
in America and the World resides
safe in the bosom of peace and love
for 'Our' great sisters and brothers
who rise above
that fight for us all
we will accept no others
we celebrate those not afraid of the fall
we will stand with and uphold you all
and you will get your benefits
and those cowards never will prevail
that try to deny what you won with courage
'Our' birthright
'Our' heritage
you all wear the heroes badge
we will fight with you all the way
and we will celebrate you all
on 'Armistice Day'
With love and deep gratitude, The Colvin Family
and Richard Thompson John Fogerty
